Center is full of Mexicans. Not saying that is a bad thing. They still speak a lot of Mexican spanish.

Never been a problem for me. Center is a majority black and white demographic. Vast majority of Hispanic students speak English. Where do you get your information?

Center Key Racial/Ethnic Breakdown (based on recent U.S. Census data, including 2020 Census and 2023 updates):

White alone — approximately 52.6% (includes Hispanic Whites; non-Hispanic White is around 36%)

Black or African American alone — approximately 30.9%

Hispanic or Latino (of any race) — approximately 26.9%

Those percentages add up to 110.4%. So those numbers can't be accurate.

36+30.9+26.9 = 93.8?  Would leave 6.2% for other and 2 or more races? BTW, the school demographics have a larger Hispanic population reflecting the age demographics of the town.

I think the first number he listed combined Hispanic and whites. Hispanic not being a race but an "ethnicity". The second mention of Hispanic adds the ethnic description of "Latino".

Center has some of the nicest facilities in East Texas. The practice field is identical to the one in Marshall.

That’s awesome! Probably played a roll on getting Alvarez to Center

Well his son is the Head Coach at Garrison which is 24 miles away. I imagine being close to family was part of it.
