GREAT season WOS... The computers and some dudes say you already lost.

So the only thing left to do is to make the trip, shake their hands, congratulate them on winning, and drive back home.

  1. Carthage has earned the right to be the favorite
  2. WOS has earned the right to attempt an upset
  3. Not all WOS fans are represented by the vocals on this site
  4. WOS fans have had legitimate reasons to be skeptical or unhappy.
  5. For a few years the program has underperformed to expectations
  6. H Hickman appeared to have fallen short
  7. H Hickman has now earned the respect of even most doubters
  8. Maybe a new era has begone?
  9. Some people will never be happy

Are you really this sensitive or is this just a gimmick?

I disagree.  Surratt, Preston, and staff will have a game plan totally focused on what WOS does.  Ninety percent of WOS offense is one guy running the ball.  Carthage has at least one running back that is clearly superior to Jefferson but Surratt will always have a balanced attack.   This will be very lopsided.

I know you disagree.  That's ok.  Sometimes, it doesn't take a complex scheme.  Sometimes you just have some dudes that can get it done.  I still think Carthage wins, just think it will be a decent game.  It's ok that you don't.

Y'all really sound like some losers talking about "why doesn't Carthage opt to play up?"  Like, why would they do that?  They are squarely in the middle of D2 numbers.  Because they are successful?  The schools mentioned that opted to play up probably did so for travel purposes, not because they thought it would be fair to the rest of D2.

In SETX, schools only opt up to play against lesser competition. Travel is not a factor.

Thank you for allowing me to have a different opinion.

Numbers 4-7 are spot on. There’s no question many things were changed those first two years and the facts show it didn’t turn out for the better. Beginning last year they got back to more of what made Mustang football so successful and the results are speaking for themselves. He and his staff have earned more respect.  I just feel very badly for the kids that played those first two seasons. All their young life they dreamed of wearing that silver hat and following in the footsteps of those that played before them and they were caught up in an experiment that went wrong. Many don’t actually place alot of the responsibility on Hickman and his staff for that, it mainly fell on the previous superintendent Ricky Harris. He wanted so badly to show the world that WO-S could be successful doing things differently and with a different style and we all seen how that turned out.

Good luck to Hickman and his staff and the Mustangs on Friday.  Orange is proud of yall.

WOS fans trying to backtrack and justify their behavior.

Well, there is a lot of schools in the state Texas that would love to be in WOS shoes and would be thankful for a coach Hickman.  No reason to question him.  That I see.  I could be wrong though, for I am just a mere mortal.
