Your district record got better because of the district you now play. I stated that out of the three schools that opted up, BC was the only one I really didn't have much problem with doing it sin

I could understand if we were trying drop down and face smaller schools, but we’re not. 

Jealous fans that about sums it up. They are sad  that their school or schools did not make the playoffs.  When that happens they have to hate on other schools

I’m so over hearing the opting up to avoid certain schools in the district.  BC has done well and being 10-1 is not easy know matter who you play.   It’s a grind throughout the season and having to deal with injuries and still be able to finish where we did  in district is great.   Now that we beat chapel Hill and pretty much everybody said we would lose BC still getting hated on.     This is SETX where when your school gets eliminated you start rallying behind the schools moving on in the area.

Honestly, I'm new here. Family moved to the Sour Lake area in July.

I want to root for all of 10-4A in the playoffs, but I have found the BC fans to be the most arrogant and rather annoying group I've interacted with on this message board. BC fans I've met in person haven't been much better.

Hard to root for you guys if I'm being completely honest. Maybe I shouldn't hold it against the kids...but the limited number of people I've interacted with have made me have a general dislike for BC unfortunately.

Yeah… that’s us, bro…everybody else from 10-4A D1 has been eliminated.

It’s us against the world AverageJoe…. We opt up to play larger schools and that’s “running from competition.” We beat schools in our district and that’s “bullying” those bigger schools.  Everybody picks Chapell Hill to beat us, but when we knock them off, it’s “oh, CH isn’t CH this year.”

We opted up a division, went 9-1 in the regular season, with that lone loss being the result of cheating that resulted in our opponent being  punished by the UIL. We won our district. Then we won a playoff game against an opponent that everyone agreed was going to smoke us down.  But somehow we’re the bad guys. 

If think BC has earned some respect this year, and if y’all don’t feel that way, we don’t care. We’re going to support our kids and recognize and defend what they’ve accomplished, whether y’all do or not. And I won’t apologize if that rubs you the wrong way.

I agree completely with your last paragraph. The football team at BC has earned my respect and I want those kids to have success.

On the flip side, the arrogance is really annoying. Chip on you shouler...I get it...however I've been nothing but supportive of all of 10-4A. Tried to get threads going and create excitement. You guys are no fun to talk to though. Glad you're having success. Let's see if BC can maintain the success over a sustained period of time in the future...I hope they can because I love SETX football. 

I understand the LCM thing has you guys fired up but my goodness show some humility. If you guys beat Kilgore in R3 I'll be among the first to congratulate you guys. My prediction is Kilgore by  as many as they want...assuming  you guys get by Navasota (Which I am rooting for!)

My point was Bridge City's competition was average this year in response to your statement of "dominating." One would hope with the talent they have this year that they would be winning like they are and continue their great run all the way to Jerry World. I was simply questioning your standard of "domination." Also, you put an * by their record acknowledging they're 10-1, not undefeated. Curious, but what was their reasoning for opting up to 4A-1?

The lone blemish on our record came from a game in which our opponents were punished for cheating.  Did it cost us the win? I think so, but who cares? But it’s definitely “asterisk worthy.”

Why did we move up? I don’t know… you’d have to ask the AD/HC who made that decision-and he’s not in BC anymore. Last I heard he was pimping snocones outside the XYZ gate at Motiva. 
 

I’ve given my reasons why I think the move makes SOME sense, but that’s just my opinion.

 

But only a hater would see a school opting UP to face larger schools, then winning district, then notching a playoff win a division above their attendance-based classification as a bad thing.

I don’t have a dog in the fight.. I haven’t watched Bridge City once this year  but I have watched Navasota…Truth be told they have been a average to above 4A team at times this year… Doesn’t mean at their best they couldn’t be better but we will see

PNG played three larger schools in non-district play, had a win over a Top 10 ranked team and beat two other teams that were in the Top 25 of the final computer rankings. Not hating on BC, but their schedule was considerably tougher.
