As far as I know, BC is the only TXHSFB team EVER to opt up a division and:

1. Win a district championship 

2. Win a playoff game

If anybody knows of another team who has done so, I’d like to hear it.

Considering the only teams to beat Chapel Hill before tonight were Kilgore, Lindale, Carthage, and Pine Tree. I’d say Bridge City did a pretty dang good job! Everyone picked Chapel Hill to roll BC.

I’m not a BC supporter but their program is improving each year regardless of the district. Great win. A lot of sour grapes around here.

If my memory is correct Desoto opt up and won a state champion ship

In 2023 Desoto went 15-0. So yes it’s been done

I would guess a lot of teams did what BC did last night.  What Desoto did by winning state is amazing.  They won 6a championship with 5a numbers.  All BC did was beat a 4th seed in rd 1 in 4a
