Your source and my source differ. The video also tells a different story.

Again the Board voted 6-0 that the LCM Head Coach had no knowledge of the lost device or that he deliberately cheated.

Are you aware that the BC Sup was calling and emailing "evidence" to the LCM head coach minutes prior to Friday nights contest again Huffman.

What a coincidence.

Trash behavior.

I think I stated that the LC-M head coach was cleared of all wrong doing. 6-0, 5-1, 4-2 is irrelevant. It was an assistant(s) that were involved. One will be going before the UIL.

The video that I have personally seen shows the LC-M player finding the watch, picking it up and handing it to an LC-M assistant coach. Video also shows there was never an attempt by LC-M assistant coach to give the watch to a game official at anytime during the game.

I am not privy to anyone emailing evidence.

Wouldn't this be theft?  Finders keepers isn't really true according to the law.  Maybe TVC can answer that.

The coverup is worse than the crime most of the time.  If LCM would have given the watch back at half, I wouldn't have an issue.  Sending in edited video, continuing to lie, discarding the watch somewhere to cover it up is the issue I have.

Exactly. LC-M trying to play innocent of it all is where I have issue as well.

High school coaches know the rules and are required to take UIL courses at the beginning of each season. If an opposing coach gained an advantage by using the other teams communication device that is against the rules. The head coach should have been notified by someone on his staff, other coaches had to know. Im sure these devices are not cheap and if LCM had the device it did not just disappear it was either taken back or thrown out. Not a very good look for what has developed into a good program over the past few years.

So the DC is given the watch and for two quarters he has a crystal ball and nobody else knew about it?

Amazes me how a couple of people have "inside information" and everybody just jumps on it as the gospel.  People sat through a lot of information and ruled in favor or LCM.  Maybe, just maybe, BC didn't do anything different during the game that they had shown on film and LCM had a solid plan.  I have a lot of good friends who are coaches.  Those coaches spend countless hours preparing for opponents and to have people that just "hear things" attack them, is a slap in their faces.  Unless we were there, and heard evidence or personally saw anything take place, just accept the school administrators ruling.

I tend to agree for the most part.

But, I have personally seen video and it clearly shows the player picking up the device off the field and giving it to his coach. Then the coach never attempts to give the device back to any game official.

My eyesight may not be as good as it used to be. But I believe what I saw. You can take that for what it's worth.

Also the vote was 3-3 for no forfeit. So there were some that thought the information given was enough to warrant a forfeiture.

I don't deny that the coaches had their teams prepared.

I mean... at least two of us have seen videos and text messages.  and to be clear, I personally have zero affiliation with either program.  I also don't see anyone "not accepting the ruling" - We've also been clear that it's more of an integrity issue than anything else and likely didn't warrant a forfeit.

Some could view it as cheating.  Others can view it as poor sportsmanship/no integrity.  It is what it is.

To the one asking about theft - Yeah it would be but they claim they don't have it.  But they do have it.  Unless they tossed it, of course.

The difference between the first and second halves was really interesting, especially with this whole “watch” situation. That first half was the worst BC has looked all season, and then suddenly they looked like a completely different team after halftime (when they ditched the watches for playcalling).

I’m not saying there’s a direct correlation… but I’m not saying it’s a coincidence either 🤷‍♂️

The whole thing reflects poorly on LCM. If they lied about having the watch, they’ll lie about using it. And it’s hard to believe the head coach didn’t know anything, especially if the defensive coaches were signaling run or pass etc. to the defense.

It’s a shame that a game of this importance will always have an asterisk next to it because of this “scandal.”

What was bc trying to gain here 3 weeks later? Dragging this drama into what should be preparation for other teams. I dont disagree with bc here. But it seems uncharacteristic to not be focusing on other teams instead of an lcm loss

It's a shame that any high school coach will go to these extremes.  It's definitely not a question "if" they lied about it because the video shows that they did in fact lie about it. High School coaches are supposed to be an example to their players and this is not an example I would want for my athlete.  I don't care which team you root for or which one someone "hates" the most, right is right and wrong is wrong.  What LCM did was 100% wrong.  I won't say that coach's name but I hope he has the day he deserves.

Lcm is 30-19 against  bridge city all time. Last year it was the refs. This year it was a watch. At this point I'd rather give them the win like they want  its clear they like gifts. Look at their preseason schedule, their opting up... they WANT the easy roads. Give it to them and move on.

Can they not do both?  Right is right and wrong is wrong.  I'm sure they are still preparing for this week as well as trying to get their equipment back. I would think that this incident hasn't been their entire focus but should still be dealt with.  I would hope that not everyone thinks it is ok to lie, cheat and steal.

It has been going on since the game.  They just had the district meeting yesterday

OK fair enough. Give bc the win like they want and move on. Like I said above they want the easy roads. Give it to them.

Or just the game to be played the right way....

I do not disagree. Bc still wants a gift otherwise they can handle that after the season in person IMO bc wants the win overturned  and everyone to know it because lcm had their band then destroyed the evidence. So... give it to them. Lcm and bc are focused on 2 different things. And there are MANY attributes that point to that.
