I would say 28-18 would constitute as not getting ripped. If I remember right it was 28-12 when PN-G scored. Went for 2 but did not convert. Could have been a one score game. I worked with a guy that was on the offensive line for that PNG team and he said they felt like they were running the ball very well and had they stuck to the run they would have probably won. Maybe Ashly has some running stats from that game.

I'm surprised that's all Kendall had on the ground. I felt like he ran for 200 yards.

He almost did on one play that ended in a TD.  LOL!

Stephenville outrushed PNG 238-131. Zac Hunter was leading rusher with 128 yards. Bo Wortham was held to 89.

Not about being a homer, but a ten point loss is not getting ripped. They were ripped by Crosby and Texas City this year. 1999 was my first year working at KBMT and I helped cover the game. I graduated in 98.

You got any high lights or  the tape  of the game? I’d like to watch it. it’s been a long time since I seen it.

It wasn't so much the 92 rush yds Briles had that was eyepopping, it was the certain plays he made that did Png in. Watching the game at times you felt they had Briles contained then BOOM he breaks off an exciting run to keep the drive going.

How many carries did Wortham have?

Who are the Port Neches Groves Eagles?.....and where is the righteous indignation of the PNG faithful?!

Eagles have Feathers, Indians wear Eagle Feathers, we can get over it that someone on the video did not do his research prior to posting.  He just figured Stephenville was going to win, so what difference was the PNG mascot name.

NOTE: The PNG Faithful know we are Indians, with tremendous honor pride & tradition. We're All Good!!!👍

    • Maybe.. however..  Many athletic director / head football coach have lost their job despite the athletic program as a whole being successful.. if the football team struggles.  On the other hand, when football teams are doing great but the rest of the program stinks.. AD/HFC still keeps their job. WOS.  Newton. .. programs as a whole were fairly weak during those many years of football power and very few people even knew it.  Or cared. Yet, AD/HFC kept their jobs for years. Meanwhile, I remember an AD/HFC at Barbers Hill lost his job after every program in the school won district championships and even had several team sports (baseball, softball, girls hoops, etc.) making runs at state.  But the football team was mediocre.  Fired. I'm not saying you're wrong, just that perception is reality.  And the perception is that your athletic program can suck as long as football wins.. it doesn't matter how strong the athletic program is if football sucks.

    • Baseball mafia can cry all they want but when the talent isn’t there it ain’t there lol
    • It's only a matter of time before the baseball mafia starts greasing the tracks to run Crumedy out of town. It'll be a dang shame too, but mark my words.
    • Conditioning should be done by the coach that they are IN SEASON with. This is a simple concept that's missed by so many. Way too many kids are overworked these days. I don't really care what was done 20, 30 or 40 years ago. We know more now and should do better. And maybe kids were more durable in the past, but they also had a great foundation of manual labor, etc. And lifting... done right, should be done all year round. Dayton's S&C coordinator is top notch when it comes to putting this together.
