I did some more research and TEA has given them a chance to stay open 1 more year. The School Board has to agree to it, but it would probably be like La Marque and if they are given the reprieve and told that they are going to be shut down after next year they cannot appeal.

Considering all the facts, TEA is going to close them no matter what. They have already made up their mind.

Most likely with Chilton and just use Marlin faculties.

Chilton is too small. As is Westphalia. Rosebud-Lott would just be confusing with Chilton being somewhat in between.

The TEA thing comes later. The game is Friday. So that means the game will be played before they are shutdown.  

Newton by as much as they want. Looking at what Franklin did to them.

Garrison defeated Marlin 35-12

Marlin lost to Franklin 57-0

Marlin lost to undefeated Jarrell 28-21 in district. Don't think Marlin is that strong, I think Jarrell is overrated. Don't think Jarrell will get past Crockett.

Marlin beat Rogers 17-14,  beat Dublin 20-7,  Beat Brucefield Eddy 31-14,  beat Clifton 12-6

Lost to Little River Academy 35-8  Lost to McGregor 43-14

Marlin is mediocre at best.  If Newton doesn't overlook them this should be a big win for Newton.  I'll take Newton 42-13
