Oilfield business must be down. Lol

It is, but Central has quietly been building a good program the last couple of years. If they were a 1 school town like they should be, they would easily be a state top 15 every year. This was for the district championship and this was a battle of opposites. Permian runs, Central throws. Seems to have been a great game with a West Texas atmosphere. Can't wish for much more.

Not trying to steal the topic, but wanted to hear Garrity thoughts about Permian losing tonight. It was West Texas Style with 18,000 in attendance.

Central 27 Permian 20

not surprised at the outcome or score, Central program has been on the rise since that HC got out there. Big thing: it affects seeding.

i have to check again but i believe the only way they meet is in a region final.

Looked at the seeding. This game didn't affect anything for D1. Permian and Lee are D1. According to brackets the top seed in District 3 (Permian) will play the top seed in District 7 (Trinity) in the 3rd round.

If they play at Ratliff, it may be the best atmosphere anywhere in the state all year.

Also since you have lived out there, you agree that if San Angelo was one school the size of Permian and Lee they would be ranked year in and year out?

i didn't know Lee made it. Central combined with Lake View would probably make it a lil bigger than Odessa High (close to 4K) they would dominate West Texas, oilfields plus the military base would help enrollment. The football participation is there already too.

Saw that this morning. Didn't affect seeding anywhere. Just means they are traveling to Arlington and not Lee. School District pays the same transportation costs anyway and neither team really had a shot to win next week.
