Colmesneil will win this.. HD isnt what they use to be. Im sorry. But they got beat by burkeville and almost sabine pass. Possible the worst team in 2a. No matter how bad colmesneil has been. Colmesneil beats Sabine Pass 50-0. In a scrimmage colmesneil out scored burkeville by 6 TDs lol. And they didnt score on us. HULL lost to burkeville. Put the stats together boys. And oldschool, i know you have no life but can you atleast be a little more positive or stop commenting on 2a football ahhah

They didn't chose Colmesneil for homecoming for nothing.  You haven't heard about the 4 horsemen in HD.

I find it funny (and pathetic) that oldschool wants to rid of small schools but yet this is where you find him mostly, on a small school thread being a tool.

I guess every message board needs one or two.

Not all small schools...schools with less than 500.  I'm pretty sure I clarified that.  And a couple of these other "smaller" schools with less than 500 would easily hit that 500 mark with probably a single consolidation.

''toothless, legless dog fight'' It's sad he has apparently never experienced growing up in the country... Where Friday night football is the biggest draw around, where whole towns turn out to cheer on their boys... The big city schools can surely produce the massive numbers, however I dare their students or their fans to match the hard working, big hearted, soul of country folks and their beloved small town football... It may just be me, but this ole fella oldschool2, seems kinda empty inside and a tad bitter... Just confirms how blessed us "toothless" folks are...

Did I say you or anyone else representing either of these schools are "toothless"?  What is it with reading comprehension over there?..  I was referring to the game being a comparison to two dogs fighting, neither of which have any teeth or legs.  My goodness...

old school bring your ish talking somewhere else, your probably a fatarse that has no life and you never have played football! I put money on it! Your probably some coach that got fired because they sucked so bad at their job!

Not that you would believe me anyway..but I was actually (on paper) a better football player than I was a basketball player.  And I played 4 years of college basketball..mostly because I was told growing up that I wouldn't be good enough to do so.  But nice try.  And coach? I literally just laughed out loud to myself.. I wouldn't coach for 100K a year.  To be honest I think it's sad that there is a profession in today's society where no matter how much time you put in, how hard you work, or how productive you are...it doesn't change your pay.  I have several friends that do or used to coach and I think they're crazy.  Whatever tho.. to each their own.

I WOULD! SIGN ME UP!  I have been doing it for 24 years at a lot lower salary than that.  Just a little try at levity to loosen me up on game day!!

I'm one of the HD folks who realize that our time has passed on producing quality athletes and competitive playoff teams. Other than a small handful of people in their 30-40's, most people that reside in Hull, Daisetta, and Raywood are older folks who've owned their property for decades and have grandchildren playing somewhere.......somewhere other than HD. This year's Bobcat team is unfortunately devoid of talent and numbers. Not only do they have a bunch of average kids athletically, they have ZERO depth. Freshmen and sophomores playing every snap that should be on a 2A JV team. Playing SP, Colmesneil and Burkeville gives them the opportunity to play hard and have a chance to come out with a win. That all ends after this week and I just hope that these 14 and 15 year olds don't get seriously hurt playing against the West Sabine's, Centerville's, and Lovelady's on the schedule (not to mention Groveton and Anderson-Shiro who will also thoroughly outmatch the Bobcats). One thing I will say about these kids is that they play hard. It's easy to quit and not make an effort. Many of the kids in the school have chosen not to play, whether that's from disliking a pretty hard-nosed head coach, lack of support from family members, or just no sense of school and community pride and tradition. Maybe some of the kids are smart enough to see the writing on the wall that they don't want to be part of a losing team (cop-outs). There are a couple kids on the team with excellent talent. I believe Rayon and Robinett would find their way on the field for any 3A or 4A school in the area. There's a few others that are solid 2A starters who can make a difference. There's just not enough of them.  Most people with kids have moved to Beaumont, Baytown, Dayton, HJ or you name it. The only move-ins that HD gets are kids from broken homes who move in with their grandparents and usually those kids don't have the best sense of discipline, work-ethic, or respect that it takes to be a productive football player. It's not a knock on them, as life is tough on a kid who bounces around from one home to the next. The only other move-ins are people trying to find a dirt cheap place to stay. Rent a two bedroom apartment in Channelview for $950 a month, or rent a 3 bedroom wood-frame house in Daisetta for $575? Once again, from an economic standpoint, kids from low income homes are many times in the same boat as the kids from broken homes who've bounced around. Not knowing what school pride is is near the bottom of the list on why they don't contribute. Parents who may not push their kids to achieve academic excellence usually don't push their kids to compete in athletics, to not quit or give up on things, or to have respect and discipline. That's not counting the misfortunes of some of those kids who have to work in the evenings after school just help pay the bills and put food on the table at their homes.

As far as the game tonight, I fully expect HD to compete and be in the game, if not pull out the win. I said it during the summer that this is the worst Hull-Dasietta team that's ever taken the field. With that being said, HD's worst is better than about 50% of Colmesneil's teams of all-time. So if they are down, and not looking like an above average Bulldog squad, then HD can and will win. You won't hear me ever barking about HD's dominance and future prospects and chance to go deep in the playoffs. I just don't ever see it happening again due to the state of the community as afore mentioned. I will always support the Hull-Daisetta Bobcats and I'll always be proud of where I'm from. All this is just my opinion, so I'd love nothing more than these kids to go out and prove me wrong this season and for many more to come. Go Bobcats!!

I can assure you that whether or not you believe I am a cancer to this site has zero bearing on my overall attitude towards anything.  I was brought up to be straight forward and speak my mind.  Most people don't like it..but rest assured, I am the only one on here saying what some people are thinking.  Maybe they're nicer than me..maybe I'm a little rude...I guarantee that I don't care.

You got your feelings hurt that I don't want to go watch the game?  That's fine.  My opinion is that between HD, Colmesneil, and Sabine Pass...that's about as close to a junior high game as you can get.  So no...I'd rather spend my Friday doing something else.  Feel free to use my "rather watch grass grow" in case you aren't intelligent to come up with your own analogy.

You thinking that I don't know the difference between opinion and fact tells me that you have a problem with reading comprehension and/or figuring out context clues.  I'll give credit to the place you were educated.  Hull Daisetta High School right?

Have fun Friday night...I hope it's an injury free game.

Yawn....

This sounds like every small town issue.
