badndn
Dravanti was a three star LB then committed to UT and instantly became a four star LB. Sure would look bad for UT if he didnt make AllState. Wink wink. To answer your question earlier. Dustin Long did make All State. As did Brown. Oh and DT probably shoulda been 4A player of the year in the state. Dont think so, ask any team that played WOS. Big play after big play on both sidesof the ball and Special Teams. pride at impact and VNUPE
AHUDDLESTON
To get all-state you must be nominated. Some selections are based off of coaches' nominations and some off of media nominations.
Gabe
It's a known fact the AP All State teams have been somewhat of a joke for the last several years. Some of these players listed did not make all-district teams yet make all-state. Very, very little research done. AP should just do all-region teams. Nail on head. We have Id say maybe 10 votes total for this. Our votes go up against Dallas, Austin, Houston and SA. Its same with the.rankings. there are usually only 2 SE Texas teams that annually start year ranked, Newton and WOS. Sports guys in other places dont care. Their big named schools with 4000 5000 kids in it is literally all they care about. It took me over an hour and half to vote. And i will say i didnt vote for several local kids because there were more deserving guys. No way to fix it
Gabe
This year sports journalists nominated, no coaches
Guest
Excellent observation. The votes all go to the Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio schools. I counted 1-4 players from those areas (Argyle, Wilmer-Hutchins, Boerne, LaVernia) depending upon your definition of those areas making 1st Team All State. BADSANTA
How is Thompson and Patrick Hudon not allstate when they are both 5 star recruits?
