I have a question, i have heard a lot about the young man tony brown i know he was considered one of the best corners in the state . i also hear he is a good corner but some say he wasnt even the best corner in the area . I see he made hm all state , but i just saw he made 1st team parade all american team . When you make that (at least in the past) you were the best in the district , area , county and state . I also heard he was a great combine performer and won a lot of awards , but is he the next great shut down corner ? Will he shine at Alabama? Just trying too get some peoples opinions that seen him play.

Think Dravanti Johnson. Remember him. Good LB/ DE at Nederland that committed to UT. Second team All District Senior year, but was named 4A Defensive Player of the year by this same Texas Writers group. Most from Nederland thought he was the second best LB on Nederlands team, but when you commit to UT, Alabama, LSU, etc...you immediately become a better player for some reason.
Tony is a good DB, but not a 5star shutdown corner. Now, he has raw talent and size that could be coached up into an exceptional DB and I believe he choose the right program to make that happen, but at the HS level I saw better DBs at WOS, Ned, LCM and Central. Best DB in the area was D. Thompson bar none. Damn Bama got him too!

Thats the same thing I thought. I watched a lot of HS football last year and I didn't see a better set of DL at the 4A level.
Also thought Kimler was better than HM at DB. And expected to see G. Mitchell in there at DB somewhere.

Parade All America just picks the rivals top 50! No real research. You got to remember it's better for them to put an Alabama, USC, Mich, UT, LSU or FLA recruit on the team than a 3 star stud that put up incredible numbers, but is undersized and going to say ULL or North Texas because those other schools have huge alumni fan bases and they read Parade Magazine. Its all about the Dollar. Same reason ESPN never waivers from its Yankee Crush even though they are has beens.

Jeremiah Rose from PN-G caught 11 balls against Ozen, most of those with Tony Brown covering.  No doubt he is FAST, but not a shutdown corner.  He did take an interception back 100 yards in that game and he got down the field in a hurry!
