Biggest surprise in the new UIL re-alignments

Football road trips were not the biggest issue for Livingston. It was all the other sports that you play two district games in like Basketball (boys and girls), Baseball, Softball, Volleyball, etc.. that killed them. It meant that every week a few busses full of kids headed over to our area. Now they only have four of those trips, so they split it in half.

This realignment didn't help us at all in the travel aspect of it. It did the competition part, we got our hands full the next two years.

Lufkin still in 5A although now in a district with Jacksonville and John Tyler. Tough matchups! I'd wish Jasper would schedule them and continue the rivalry!

It won't happen this coming year, but we should benefit in the future from having played in the district with the schools in your area.

That blows my mind there. I just figured that it would most likely be Dayton and Barbers Hill.....  lol
