  1. I don't care how small and how few players there are, there has to be another running back. It doesn't show very good sportsmanship. He had 29 carries and all 10 of thier TDs? I think the coach should have done things different.
  2. This is a tough district and there still is a long way to go. So, I am not going to say Vidor will make the playoffs. I think that Vidor is better than they were thought to be. There isn't anyone in this district that can't beat anyone on any given night.
  3. Vidor was down by 10 with like 3 min to go. I was really surprised how well they ran the 2 min offense. Vidor got a couple of first downs and then got a man behind the secondary for about a 30-40 yard TD. Then Vidor got a perfectly executed onside kick, with less than a min left. Vidor picked up a couple first downs again and then got the same man behind the secondary in the corner of the endzone. Ned got returned the kick off to about the 50 with about 20 sec left. Then they had a long pass to about the 3 or 4, call a to with 4 sec left. Then Vidor stopped Mosley at the 1 to end the game.
  4. Nederland had Ithink 2 fumbles and Vidor had 1. It was a very well played, hard hitting game.
  5. This was a great game, one of the best I have been too and not just because Vidor won. There is no quit in either one of these teams, just the way it is supposed to be.
  6. Just a 1/2 game back now. You know every other team that will be in the play offs deffinately do not wan Houston in there. I would think if they get in, right now they would be favored as the NL champs again with the pitching situation with the Mets.
  7. The way I read this topic...it was about allowing someone that was on Varsity who failed, to play the Thursday before grades come out, with the JV. I don't have a problem with them being allowed to practice with the JV or run scout team etc, as long as he is making an honest attempt in his classes. Personally, my child it would not be an option. They would be at home studying.
  8. I read it. I just would not even think about it. If it meant that much to him then he would have made the grades to play. To me it comes down to running a quality program and teaching these young men more than just football. There are consequences to every action or lack there of.
  9. If this is true, then this explains part of the problems Lumberton has had in the past with the Varsity.
  10. Why would you paly him? He let the coach and his team mates down by not keeping his grades up, like everyone else. Not only that, but isn't JV to groom athletes into being varstiy players. There would be no reason to play someone on Thursday on JV if there would not be the chance of them playing varsity that year.
  11. Yeah, it's not right. It is punishing the the athlete's for living where they are.
  12. Maybe they can borrow the motto "Never underestimate the heart of a champion" from the Rockets.
  13. I wonder what the longest is for our area. I know that Ryan Smith kicked one 53 yds in '92 ( his Jr year) against West Brook.
  14. I think that is just the type of team that Newton wants to play.
  15. I was thinking that it was all ready named after someone, can't remember who I'll have to talk to my dad. Maybe the field is or maybe they just have his name on the entrance sign. Anyway, Mr Croak is very deserving. He has done a lot for all of Vidor's sports.
  16. Yeah, didn't they have like negative 78 yards rushing last week.
  17. Yeah, with the black pellets. It was installed in 2003 I believe. It is a very nice stadium by the way.
  18. Talk to some that have it. Yeah it's nice, excitting at first. There wasn't but maybe a handfull of players that liked it by the end of the year at NSU.
