  1. I agree an 80's team with the wishbone could compete against the spread offense of today. It would all depend on the defense. A good defense combined with a slow grind it out offense I would take any day. You can't score if you don't have the ball. You know the old saying 3 things can happen when you throw the ball and 2 are bad.
  2. Their would be more fans in the stands now. Their are more students attending Lamar, many who live in the dorms.
  3. They did it, swept the Pirates. Up next the Padres.
  4. It's hard to pick one but I tell you some of the biggest hits come from blocks on special teams. I can tell you from experience, those blind sided shots, running full speed really ring your bell. ::4 You know the ones I'm talking about where the first thing to hit the ground is the back of the helmet.
  5. Yes, we have. I think that we might make better use of them this year.
  6. I do not see us (Vidor) and Lumberton as rivals. There is not enough history there for there to be a rivalry.
  7. Vidor's would have to be right up there; with Gooch ( UT commit, 6-5 295), and Duff ( 2X all district, 6-3 285).
  8. I follow any SETX team and this year I have reasons to follow Newton (my girl started teaching there) and Corpus Christi Calallen (my son just moved there).
  9. I didn't think they had a farm system. I thought they just went out and bought whom ever they wanted. ::9
  10. Nope that's the way we do it every year.
  11. He is listed as a RB but also has played WR and DB. He is very quick with great hands. Has been on varsity since his freshman year.
  12. Yeah and the Reds lost so they picked up a game on the wild card.
  13. To me it makes more sense having 4 teams go to the playoffs, than having 3. At least, both divisions in a class would have to play the same number of games. That being said I would not be against 2 make the playoffs, but it should be an even number that makes the playoffs, if they are going to split it into 2 divisions. Everyone should play the same number of games to win a state championship.

  15. Isn't that close to the track that Rita took?
  16. I am also a Rangers fan but not a fair weather fan. I will stick by the Astros through it all.
  17. I don't think this season is over yet, especially since the Reds keep losing too. It's hard to think that the wild card will come out of the West since all the West teams are too close to each other. Ensberg in his first rehab start went 3 for 3 with 2 doubles, a HR and 4 RBIs. I know that is AAA and is only a start but if he can come back and hit like he did at the start of the season the can get back in this thing.
  18. He got the "S" tonight, finally. He has too much talent you have to get more than that for him.
