  1. I assure you Vidor will not be taking anyone lightly. Vidor will be ready to play. It will be a close hard fought game.
  2. Defense decides this game. From what I have seen, Dayton's defense is better than Central's.
  3. How about the 3 swinging gate plays Vidor ran in the 3rd. That was totally unexpected. Who knows what they have in store for next week.
  4. IMO... PNG and Ned have the hardest scheduels remaining
  5. Lumberton already has 3 losses. They will have to lose 1 more.
  6. For Vidor to make the playoffs, Lumberton and Nederland would have to lose another game.
  7. Lumberton and Vidor still aren't out of it. PNG and Ned still have to play Dayton, This should give both of them 3 loses. So, looking at the scheduel you would have to give the edge right now to LCM.
  8. Never know these things can come down to point spread.
  9. Wow, what a great game. This year I have seen 3 of the best high school football games! Unfortunatly we have been on the wrong end 2 times. Anyway, it was a hard fought game both ways.
  10. Oh yes, my fishing camp is right outside of Hemphill.
  11. Texas @ Nebraska UCLA @ Notre Dame Iowa @ Michigan Alabama @ Tennessee Boston College @ Florida State Rutgers @ Pittsburgh Colorado @ Oklahoma UTEP @ Houston Rice @ UCF Georgia Tech @ Clemson
  12. I saw scouts from New Mexico State and San Jose State at the Vidor/ Nederland game. Not sure who they were there for, my guess would be Mosley.

  14. I would imagine that there are still some parts of the offense that have been held back. Not a knock against any team they have played so far. No need to show all your cards until it is necessary. A win is a win and the kids actually get more out of a close game then if they went out and "pounded" their opponents like you said. Every offense and defense has their own tendencies. This does not mean that there is anything wrong with Silsbee's offense. They are just like every other football team.
  15. Right now everything is up in the air. Point being even with 3 loses a team might not be out of it. It will go down to the last week. Hopefully it will not come down to a coin flip.
  16. That's assuming that Vidor will lose 2 more. If Ned and Vidor end with 3 loses then Vidor gets the 3rd spot. That is going by your scenario. So, basically us Vidorians will be pulling for ya'll, except against Dayton.
  17. There isn't a certain defense to run against a a veer offense. Whatever the teams normal, you just have to play assignment defense.... read and react. The first thing to cover will be the dive... usually the DT and backside LB have this responsibility. Then you have the QB this is the DE and playside LB responsibility- the faster you can make the QB pitch the better you are, it just turns into a sweep then. The QB is what makes this offense effective. That leaves the CB an S for the pitch man. The game I saw with Silsbee they didn't give it to the dive man or pitch the ball much at all. The QB was the primary play maker, again must get after him early and make him pitch the ball.
  18. Yeah that wasn't the time or place to even try that. They weren't supposed to snap the ball unless a defensive player jumped into the neutral zone. I guess the center thought he saw something??? Those kids should not have been put in that situation at that point on the field.
  19. I was also impressed with #80 at linebacker. He is very solid.
  20. Yes the QB was very good and he is only a soph. He must have been about 6'5.
  21. Yes, Dayton is a good team. They did not make the big mistakes- not many penalties and no turn overs. Well coached.
