Trump makes unproven link between autism and Tylenol
thetragichippy replied to thetragichippy's topic in Political Forum
Who knows? Cancer was around long before we discovered that some tings cause cancer, Your hatred for Trump really shows. Trump did not come up with this Tylenol theory, there is research and Doctors that support it. Again I ask - they are not outlawing it, they are suggesting you don't take it while pregnant.....so, just incase it is true, wouldn't you want to be warned? Some acid reflux meds are linked to increase in dementia.... I'm not taking them JUST. IN. CASE. i guess if Trump announces it, we will have you and social media taking videos of you ingesting them? -

How could smoking be a cause for lung cancer since people get lung cancer who don't smoke? -

Research before you post things you read on social media. As a nurse, I would expect better. Example - People get lung cancer and don't smoke...... so smoking must be ok and don't cause lung cancer...... "My Mom smoked all her life and never got lung cancer" Example - People have liver failure and don't drink - so drinking must not cause liver failure. -

Tylenol put out a warning in 2017 stating they did not recommend taking any of their products during pregnancy, consult with your Doctor. The trend on X and TIKTOK of pregnant women videoing themselves taking Tylenol in protest really shows how dumb some folks are. I guess we have always had dumb people, social media just highlights them. *Acetaminophen bottle currently recommend that adults take no more than 4,000 milligrams a day, or eight extra-strength pills. Just a doubling of the maximum daily dose can be enough to kill, warns Dr. Anne Larson of the University of Washington. 450-500 acetaminophen overdose deaths per year - half being intentional [Hidden Content] -
Dallas ICE Detention Center Targeted Again

The irony of attacking ice agents only to kill immigrants and not ice agents.....then killing yourself. -
That is dangerous territory....... I "read" things all the time on twitter(X) that COULD be a threat or a joke. We don't need Jan 6th type prosecutions because we are mad.

oh, I see, big difference!

I struggle with this. I know times have changed, but the fights I had from elementary through high school taught me lots of life lessons.. I remember at Edison before it came to blows, I knew I was probably going to lose AND get licks from the coach......and I was right on BOTH predictions.....lol

Google Admits to Censorship - Biden Administration Pressure
thetragichippy replied to OlDawg's topic in Political Forum
We have been complaining for years about the shadow banning and cancel culture. Many, not all Democrats and Trump haters supported and celebrated it. They did not want to hear things they disagreed with. They even came up with safe spaces....lol There have been so many phobia's made up, dictionary's would need to be re-written (if they were paper now days) Now we have direct proof of a couple things. 1. The Obama administration purposely sabotaged an incoming President. 2. The Biden administration purposely silenced private companies...... Yet, the left's outrage today is about a private company taking a comedian off their network...... -
While I didn't watch it , I did see clips of it on social media. I think his explanation (definitely not an apology) was enough to satisfy Disney and ABC. The question is was it enough to satisfy Nexstar, Sinclair and the millions of people he offended...........

Hopefully this brings awareness to Autism and what we put in our bodies..... Like him or hate him, he can say one thing and get the entire world talking about it. -

As a Father, that hits right in the feelings. Those are such true words. -
1953: "There is no proof that cigarette smoking is one of the causes of lung cancer." 1964: "We don't accept the idea that there are harmful agents in tobacco" So here is my take - I have no hatred for anyone that exceeds the love for my child. If Tylenol MIGHT cause autism in an unborn child, even a .0000001% chance, I would not take Tylenol unless absolutely necessary. I know the mother of my child would agree, as she changed her diet, got off all unnecessary meds and would not even have a glass of wine with a meal. So it blows me away this is news.....it is a recommendation and true or not, SOMETHING is causing the rise of autism...... WHY TAKE THE RISK [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content]

So had we waited........

The ONLY reason I would watch is to see what his response is. If he doubles down on his comments, I don't think that will play well for Disney. Does he apologize?
-
It is a tough situation. If the family of 4 was innocent, to me it really don't matter where they are from. I don't know what the answer is, but with our technology these days, you would think they could be more accurate or wait for a better time and location.

Some folks can't help but lash out.......
-
Enough with the conspiracy theory's. Why is any of that important?

I did not miss it, ABC is not Government owned. Whataboutism's is what folks use when they don't want to be called a hypocrite. You did say just as bad, so that was not aimed at you. I would disagree and say it is worse silencing someone running for President versus a talk show host trying to make people laugh or whatever it was he as trying to do. Lastly, had he just apologized as his Boss asked him to do, he would be back on television. We can ignore the past or learn from it.
-
Yup - Republicans were up in arms when Trump was kicked off twitter during his campaign. Democrats not so much. This is just the opposite, although, Kimmel is not running for an elected office.
-
That would ring true on any website not owned by the Government.

I don't recall the left being free speech champions during the 2016 election when Trump lost his platform on Twitter during a Presidential election....OR, during covid with everyone. I posted receipts in this tread earlier of Kamala, Schumer and Jefferies of trying to persuade free speech. To me, banning a Presidential candidate from the largest social media platform was one of the worst "free speech" issues in my lifetime, yet the left seemed pretty happy about it.......

Really? Explain how Disney making the decision is different from this? [Hidden Content] OR [Hidden Content] Just a few examples of a BUNCH. The saying what goes around comes around. Back then I warned everyone what the Obama and Biden administration where doing was setting a precedence folks would not like. And his viewership........tanked

On social media folks freaking out about free speech.... This is NOT a free speech or 1st amendment issue. Remind those folks that the FCC controls broadcast airways - They have guidelines - there are certain things you can't say...for example, watch local broadcast news, notice they don't drop F bombs? Notice if they play a clip with curse words, they bleep it? Did we hear anyone in an uproar over the bleeps crying they are taking away our rights? Nope,,,,,
