Little need for anyone from HJ to comment. There are enough Silsbee people keeping the threads going. HJ has nothing to lose, they aren't the top ranked team in the state and are not expected win. Just hope it is a good game and there are no injuries.

I believe they're still facing discipline from Joubert.

Really...  He took a nasty spill last week vs. Nederland on that bad shoulder...  Got dinged up last night, but he just keeps on coming back and attacking. One of the reasons I've been high on him for over 2 years....

Sometimes we all get caught up in the hype, but its pretty clear to me that John Comeaux is the best player on the floor tonight...and most nights. If we are picking teams, he goes first...win or lose this game

Just praying for an injury free game and hoping to see two good teams battle it out. May the best team win. 

Trash talk is part of the game.. If you have a problem with what the kid did then YOU have a problem when some of these oher players including some Nederland players that run down the court with 3's in the air,above the eye 3's ,flying airplane like Jason Terry  etc etc when they hit shots... Personally i have no problem with any of it ..but thats just me 

That wasn't emotion. There is a difference in emotion and taunting/a lack of sportsmanship. I'm all for players getting pumped up after a big play or a dunk that gives a boost of energy to the team. However the "Sshhh" stuff is just bush. Finish of the play and let the momentum ride, dont make it a "Me" moment and kill it.

I just find it funny that his accolade at this tournament was conveniently omitted... 

MVP was Comeaux.  2nd straight tournament MVP....

I went back 30 years ago(1985)  to the date almost and looked up my old all district picks article . The 1st team offense ,  defense and 2nd offense and defense altogether was 48 picks . Add the superlatives which was 4 slots it was 52 in all . Mind you back then if you won a superlative you were also eligible to be placed on the all district (imo your suppose to )team . We had a 7 team district. Honarable Mention back then meant something as well , but now its jusr crazy !! You have over 24-25 kids on 1st teams , that is a total of almost 50 on offense and defense . Last i checked its still 22 jokers on that field at the same time . Coaches need to get it together!! Every kid cant make an honor , sorry !! You get your "participation trophies" at your school's anual banquet. 
 

Down grading your own team nice job guys and at this point we are #1 in the big state of TEXAS.!  And it does mean a lot to our kids . And for our guy's to get on hear and read this is crazy .!  Great win today Silsbee Tigers . With barely any practices and Holiday vacation off..! Go get a few weeks of practice in. And then see what folks haft to say.

This used to be an honorable thing. Now it is everyone gets a trophy.  This was a district of only 5 teams. Looking at safety's alone, their are 7 listed. I know some play with 2, but even at doubling 2 that gets you to 4 (2 on first and 2 on second). Why are the coaches doing this? How many coaches even know the other kids on the opposing team? Seems like if coaches got out of coaching they could easily find a job in sales (like the pitches made to get the kids on the list). I'm sure many of these kids are "great" kids, but that does NOT earn them a spot on the list. 
KJ Dad, I commend you and your son on your honesty. Congratulations also to the Mustangs on their championship year (it is hard to compete against them on the field and for honors). 
 

John was definitely the best player out there. His play is typically quiet and does the little things like assists and defense, today his play was very LOUD on the offensive side. Reminded me of his play (not dunks) at the state tournament. Ozen came ready to play for sure.

I haven't seen a lot of Ozen this year, but I may be in your Comeaux camp Soulja.   Has looked like the best player on the floor in this game.

gotcha.   I figured it was size.  Sounds like Joe Joe needs to stay out of foul trouble.  I will say that Big Sandy as a team boxes out about as good as I've seen.   In that type of matchup, how the game is officiated often is key as well. 

Very well could be, but that is why they play the game.  Hope not on the loss, but if they do, this one won't matter.

On thing about me I stand for what's right? An like I said, im a FIRM BELIEVER IN NOTHING GIVEN IN LIFE YOU GOTTA EARN IT, and that's how I raised my kids. KJ knew it as well, and felt like another kid missed out on making the Team bekuz he was giving something he DIDNT EARN. #GottaLoveMyKid #KjAlsoStandsForWhatsRight

My view of AAU is ....its all OFFENSE and one on one skills.  Is defense ever taught? In AAU do you ever see full court pressure? 
AAU = NBA ALL Star Game
AAU = McDonald ALL American Game
AAU = NO DEFENSE
