  1. It will be scary for Lee if they give them the feeder school they are talking about giving them. No athletes from that school. You're thinking of how Lee is right now as a 5A school. If we kept all these athletes, then yeah we would kill 4A teams. However, to get down to 4A, they are going to cut our enrollment wayyyy down, and there goes the athletes that would have made us scary at 4A.
  2. Thanks gringo. I've actually been a member here since last summer. Just haven't had much to talk about here. If I knew how to bump karma I would bump yours too ;D
  3. I wouldn't put it in such exact terms scooter. It's not a foregone conclusion that Lee wins district. I like their chances, but I was being very much facetious with my 16-0 comment. Maybe losing in 7 on 7 bodes well for Lee. We usually tear it up and then stink in the regular season lol
  4. lol Hey, what is karma, and why is mine negative 2?? > I just noticed that.
  5. As an unbiased observer, I say pencil them in for 16-0 this year. ;D
  6. Baytown Lee, since 1975 at least qb Clint Stoerner rb Alan Green rb Vonn Innis wr Michael Reed wr James Cleveland te Kirk Botkin ol Jim Herndon ol Bo Morris ol Jesse Trejo ol Jason Baggett ol Wes Hines dl Chris Thierry dl JT Cleveland dl Curtis Thomas dl Larry Davis lb Columbus Wooley lb Quentin Coryatt lb Patrick Robinson db Edwin Garrett db Greg Shead db Robert Thomas db Thomas Bates
  7. I'm starting to like them more and more. Id they get some decent qb play then they could be tough. They have a lot of skilled receivers to catch footballs.
  8. He was the offensive coordinator for Baytown Lee the last two years I believe. He worked some magic at Crosby, that's for sure. Eisenhower didn't really have the type of squad to implement his offense.
  9. Kevin Craft, Michael Mahan and Jahwran Goode for Baytown Lee. I like the Windon kid for PAM better than King. King had a bad case of the dropsies against LP in the playoffs.
  10. Baytown Lee only went to the first round of the playoffs themselves, but yeah Sterling certainly didn't make the playoffs. Maybe he was talking about Houston Sterling? I don't think they did much in the playoffs either.
  11. Baytown Lee has the goods this year. Eight returning starters on offense. A quarterback and running back, both of whom were on varsity as freshmen, now seniors. Three receivers coming back of the 4 that started against North Shore in the playoffs. Three offensive linemen starters returning. Did I mention nine returning starters on defense? One first team all district defensive tackle, one second team defensive end, two second team safeties. Lee will be one of the top 3 or 4 teams in the Houston area this year, and I'm not just saying that because I'm a homer ;-)
  12. I agree that West Brook will be better. They will get the ball to Michael, and he will do the rest. They didn't really have an identity this past season. If you look at the past 10-12 years, then Lee has had their share of wins. They were down pretty bad in 04 and 05. I think PAM will be down this year. Davon Lewis and Barry Valcin were far and away their best players. Lewis was the whole offense. They have a couple of skill position players coming back. I just can't shake the memory of Lee laying a licking on PAM as freshmen in 2004. I'm talking 42-0 at the half licking. Those two sets of players will comprise the majority of PAM and Lee this year as seniors. I just don't think PAM has it this upcoming year. I could be wrong, and I have been wrong many times before.
  13. I think Sterling also tied West Brook the year that WB went on to win state. My dad was at the game. I was only about 7 at the time, so I didn't make that one. I know he said that something weird happened. Sterling was up 7-0 late I believe and tried to kick a field goal to put the game away and got it blocked and returned for a td. At least I think that was the story. Maybe a WB fan will know better what happened.
  14. I honestly think Olin is pointing to this year as his last year. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him leave after this one. We are opening the new school. Lee's talent base will be severely depleted when that happens, even though we will be 4A. Still, 4A or no, there won't be as much talent with the new zoning. I've pointed to this year as the year since seeing this group as freshmen. They beat the fool out of everybody except Spring Westfield, who beat them 8-0. That was without Josh Jones and Jarvis Moore though who were both on varsity as freshmen. But, to answer your question, Lee will have a ton of talent. Josh Jones, who started at Strake Jesuit last year, is transferring back to Lee(played on varsity as a freshman a little bit at Lee before transferring to SJ). He will be the starting qb. I have heard that a 2nd team all district defensive lineman from Sterling is transferring to Lee for some reason or another. If you count those 2 as starters coming back, Lee has 8 starters back on offense and 9 back on defense from what was a pretty solid team this past year. I'm very excited about the upcoming season. The most excited I've been in quite a while. Watch us not even make the playoffs now lol
  15. I think they were just starting to use facemasks the last time Baytown Sterling made it. Actually, I would guess it was 1985. Seems like forever ago, considering we(Baytown schools) have been in 6 team districts a lot of those years, with 3 teams advancing to the playoffs. You would think they would stumble into one at some point. That has to be one of the longest streaks in 5A. Sterling was actually a football powerhouse in the 70's and early 80's. How the mighty have fallen. Lee hadn't made the playoffs much lately either until Olin got here. 1979 they almost made it to state, losing to SB Memorial. They made the playoffs in 1983, 1986 and 1988 I believe. Then they finally started back up in 1994 and have made it about 10 times since then.
  16. I have a feeling West Brook is going to be better than expected. Giving the ball to Michael 20+ times a game could be bad news for the defenses. I think Lee, West Brook and Humble should be in the playoffs, with Kingwood and PAM fighting it out for the 4th spot. I give the slight edge to Kingwood, not even knowing what they have really.
  17. Baytown Lee Jarvis Moore, RB, 1st team all district, starter since freshman year Kevin Craft, WR, starter since 10th grade, injured most of last year or would have been a shoo-in for all district Adam Rivera, Center, starter since 10th grade Michael Mahan, WR, second team all district JT Cleveland, DT, first team all district Thomas Bates, S, second team all district Reggie Butler, S, second team all district
  18. Baytown Lee will have their best team in a good while. We finished up 7-4 this year, narrowly losing to North Shore in the playoffs in double overtime. We will have 8 starters back on defense and 8 more on offense. The freshman team was 8-1, so we will get some help from there too.
  19. Bruins will be much better next year in my opinion. Stump tried too hard to make this a passing team. Next year, he will have no choice but to ride the two running backs. Christian Michael will be one of the top running backs in the state next year as a junior. He was the best player on this year's team by a wide margin. Should have gotten the ball to him today more often. Michael needs to touch the ball a minimum of 25 times a game. It's a tragedy they had to lose with their best player sitting on the sidelines. Good season, but Cy-Falls was beatable today. Too many dumb mistakes. Blocked punts, snaps before the qb was ready to receive them that went sailing past the qb(at least 3 of those)
  20. At Berry Stadium in Cy Fair. RR was up 31-7 last I heard.
  21. I agree. What's the point of this grand stadium, that you pretty much are you going to play yourself out of its capacity fairly early. North Shore's stadium is the same way. I'd take Stallworth here in Baytown over them any day now that we have fieldturf. If they could only clean the bird poop off the seats and get some better bathrooms lol A couple of sinks in the restroom would be nice! Anyone from Baytown listening to this????
  22. North Shore and Pearland Stratford and Cy Falls Lamar and Cy Fair maybe the other thats gonna be at Reliant, can't think right off hand.
  23. [Hidden Content] How can you not love this song. Thanks again for the heads up ont he name of it. Made me wish I had brought my umbrella.
  24. Thanks for the answer pashsu. I also liked Central's band when they came to Baytown early this year. Maybe even moreso than what they do at half, I like the fact they just constantly play in the stands. I hate whenm Lee band just sits around,m sit around...then decides to play boot scoot boogie, then sits around some more lol. Central played from the word go and didn't stop the whole first quarter I don't think
