  1. Something will have to seriously go wrong for Lee to end up in 4th place. I just can't fathom a scenario where that happens. Lee will have the best offense in the Houston area, possibly the state, this year. The defense will be improved with about 9 starters back. Stranger things have happened of course, but no team will be favored to beat Lee at any point in time during district. Upsets do happen though.
  2. tvc hit the nail on the the head. If Central is to win against Lee, the first game of the year is the time to do it. Lee depends on a high level of precision in their offense. Central...not so much. If Lee's offense isn't hitting on all cylinders, with Central's swarming/blitzing defense, it could get interesting. I think for Central to really have a chance, they will need a couple of huge plays. I'm talking at least 2 or 3 td's of 65 yards or more. Take advantage of Lee learning a new defense with some blown coverages or something. If they can do that, then I think Central has a shot.
  3. LaMarque beat Lee 63-0 the first game in 1986. We somehow made the playoffs and played them first round. They beat us again, but only 36-14 this time. We got whomped by a lot of teams in 1992, as we went 0-10 that year. Deer Park beat us 49-0. West Brook beat us 61-19. Central beat us 57-0. LaPorte beat us 48-0. Vidor freakin beat us 36-14. We were outscored 389-87 for the year.
  4. a receiver go back and look at the stories, it mentions him getting hurt
  5. We'll see. I'm going to have to ask to get off work early to even make it there on time. I generally get off at 6:15 on Friday, and I work by the Astrodome, which is about a 90 minute drive to Beaumont. I can't be missing any of the very first game of the year.
  6. Someone else had said we were one dimensional last year, which we were not. You are correct about injuries. Seems Lee has suffered one already in 7 on 7. Hope he's back by district.
  7. I stay off by myself and don't talk trash to anyone. I can't sit on Lee's home side for sentimental reasons, but trust me that no one would ever know I'm a Lee fan on the visitor side. I sit there and take in the game and nothing else.
  8. I'll be on Lee's side in Beaumont. I only sit on Lee's side for away games in which I think it will be difficult for me to blend into the home side. Central and PAM qualify for that honor. I do sit on Central's and PAM's side when they come to Stallworth though. I've got some weird rules.
  9. Only believe half of what you see and none of what you hear wbbear. Lee was probably the most two dimensional team in the state last year. 2245 yards passing 2176 yards rushing Tell me again what the definition of one dimensional is?
  10. If anyone ever sits anywhere within a 15 foot radius of where I'm sitting, then I get up and move. I feel it throws off the balance of my karma that I am trying to send down to the Ganders.
  11. Good. That gives me 4 sites on which to talk trash to patitan now ;D
  12. It will be scary for Lee if they give them the feeder school they are talking about giving them. No athletes from that school. You're thinking of how Lee is right now as a 5A school. If we kept all these athletes, then yeah we would kill 4A teams. However, to get down to 4A, they are going to cut our enrollment wayyyy down, and there goes the athletes that would have made us scary at 4A.
  13. Thanks gringo. I've actually been a member here since last summer. Just haven't had much to talk about here. If I knew how to bump karma I would bump yours too ;D
  14. I wouldn't put it in such exact terms scooter. It's not a foregone conclusion that Lee wins district. I like their chances, but I was being very much facetious with my 16-0 comment. Maybe losing in 7 on 7 bodes well for Lee. We usually tear it up and then stink in the regular season lol
  15. lol Hey, what is karma, and why is mine negative 2?? > I just noticed that.
  16. As an unbiased observer, I say pencil them in for 16-0 this year. ;D
  17. Baytown Lee, since 1975 at least qb Clint Stoerner rb Alan Green rb Vonn Innis wr Michael Reed wr James Cleveland te Kirk Botkin ol Jim Herndon ol Bo Morris ol Jesse Trejo ol Jason Baggett ol Wes Hines dl Chris Thierry dl JT Cleveland dl Curtis Thomas dl Larry Davis lb Columbus Wooley lb Quentin Coryatt lb Patrick Robinson db Edwin Garrett db Greg Shead db Robert Thomas db Thomas Bates
  18. I'm starting to like them more and more. Id they get some decent qb play then they could be tough. They have a lot of skilled receivers to catch footballs.
  19. He was the offensive coordinator for Baytown Lee the last two years I believe. He worked some magic at Crosby, that's for sure. Eisenhower didn't really have the type of squad to implement his offense.
  20. Kevin Craft, Michael Mahan and Jahwran Goode for Baytown Lee. I like the Windon kid for PAM better than King. King had a bad case of the dropsies against LP in the playoffs.
  21. Baytown Lee only went to the first round of the playoffs themselves, but yeah Sterling certainly didn't make the playoffs. Maybe he was talking about Houston Sterling? I don't think they did much in the playoffs either.
  22. Baytown Lee has the goods this year. Eight returning starters on offense. A quarterback and running back, both of whom were on varsity as freshmen, now seniors. Three receivers coming back of the 4 that started against North Shore in the playoffs. Three offensive linemen starters returning. Did I mention nine returning starters on defense? One first team all district defensive tackle, one second team defensive end, two second team safeties. Lee will be one of the top 3 or 4 teams in the Houston area this year, and I'm not just saying that because I'm a homer ;-)
  23. I agree that West Brook will be better. They will get the ball to Michael, and he will do the rest. They didn't really have an identity this past season. If you look at the past 10-12 years, then Lee has had their share of wins. They were down pretty bad in 04 and 05. I think PAM will be down this year. Davon Lewis and Barry Valcin were far and away their best players. Lewis was the whole offense. They have a couple of skill position players coming back. I just can't shake the memory of Lee laying a licking on PAM as freshmen in 2004. I'm talking 42-0 at the half licking. Those two sets of players will comprise the majority of PAM and Lee this year as seniors. I just don't think PAM has it this upcoming year. I could be wrong, and I have been wrong many times before.
