  1. The reason they had so many false starts is because they tried to go with a lot of long counts and ended up messing themselves up in the process. Read the article in the Baytown sun and Olin admits that it messed Lee up more than it hurt WB. Lee stopped WB for the most part after WB got the quick 14 with 6 minutes to go in the first quarter. After that, it was a kickoff return, a 50 yard screen on 3rd and long and a 4th down td pass on 4th and long. There were no sustained drives after the 6 minute point of the first quarter for West Brook until the very last drive of the game basically when they converted the 4th and long deep in the 4th quarter. The second and third quarters were a whitewash for West Brook's offense other than the 50 yard screen on 3rd and 12(not saying that this play doesn't count, because it certainly does). All of the scores count. Drives do not have to be sustained obviously, but West Brook was not able to consistently get first downs from midway through the first quarter until midway of the 4th quarter. Lee had two chances inside WB's 10 that turned into fg's. Lee had a Josh Jones catch of about 30 yards that was incorrectly ruled out of bounds that would have set up Lee very deep inside WB's territory on a drive where we ended up having to punt. Look, I'm not saying that Lee should have won. WB was the better team last night. I'm just saying that WB did not in any such form run Lee off the field. It was a close game that Lee COULD have won had they tightened up their performance a little bit. Not that Lee SHOULD have won, but it was there for the taking if they make a few plays here and there.
  2. What happened over there soulja? I kept getting the score on the loud speaker, and I couldn't believe it.
  3. I went ahead and sat on the Lee side. I was late in arriving. I got off work at 6:05 and had to drive from Houston to BMT. When I got there it was 7-7 already. I appreciate the offer to save me a seat, but I get too upset when Lee starts losing to be sitting RIGHT next to some WB fans lol
  4. OK, i'm home now to make a more detailed post. Michael is a man amongst boys out there. He has the ability to twist and turn and drive his legs to get a lot more yards than your average back could get. He's really slippery. He also reversed field on one particular play that left the Ganders looking crazy. That screen pass that he took to the house from 50 yards was a critical play. I think Lee had the momentum at that point. WB wasn't able to do much in the second quarter, and Lee had made a good stand at the beginning of the third there. I was expecting a punt and then the possibility of a drive to tie the game. That screen pass was a killer. Thomas Bates from Lee laid a couple of bone-crunching hits. Josh Jones for Lee delivered a couple of blows from his receiver position after he caught the ball. #9 for West Brook(amongst others) laid the wood a few times too. I was impressed with WB's defensive line. They applied a lot of pressure. WB did actually throw an int. It was the next to last play of the first half. Lee must have false started at least 6 times. I think there were a couple more that could have been called too, but the refs gave the Ganders a break. Overall, a well played game. As was said a few posts before mine, there will be a lot of sore bodies tomorrow. Both teams left it all out on the field. WB was just too good for the Ganders tonight.
  5. weak district? lol ur acting like lee didnt give them a game. the game was decided by 2 plays. with wb up 21 to 13 a 60 yd screen to cm on 3rd and 12. then with wb up 31 to 21 a 30 yd td pass on 4th down. wb is good but lee isnt too faq behind
  6. Lee could have put the hammer down on Sterling had they wanted. Add to that, it was in a monsoon. BMT, Lee was missing a LOT of players in that first game. We had Jarvis, but we were missing quite a few players. That teams is not the same team that Lee has been putting on the field the last 2 weeks. It remains to be seen how bad it will hurt to lose Jarvis. I imagine it will hurt pretty badly on offense, but Lee has a stout defense this year.
  7. This Friday will tell us a lot about whether your predictions are on the money.
  8. I know you're being funny, but I may actually sit on WB's side. I generally sit on the visitor's side in Baytown, but I haven't made up my mind about the game this Friday yet. I just hope it's a good game. Last time I drove out there right after work, the game got called for some phantom lightning.
  9. Who said I was using it as an excuse? I just said that part of the reason that I picked Lee to whomp teams is because they had Jarvis Moore. If I knew they wouldn't have him, I wouldn't have been quite as confident. I get off work at 6 o clock Friday. I work in Houston, so I will have to hightail it to Beaumont right after work, but I will definitely be at the game.(if that question was directed to me)
  10. Well, so far Lee has mopped the floor with the competition since they got all their players back. West Brook MIGHT beat Lee, but until that point in time, you really cannot gloat on any predictions you had about Lee not being good. It's hard to argue with 2-0 and 66 points to zero after two district games with their starters back, regardless of who they played. Lee was up 31-0 on Kingwood at the half. West Brook was up 28-0 on Kingwood at the half. Sounds about equal to me. Now that Jarvis Moore is unfortunately out for the year, it will be a lot tougher for Lee to continue their domination, but I hope they can keep it together.
  11. Wow, you really were a fan if you remember Shawn Diamond. Shawn Diamond was probably one of the 4 or 5 best athletes I have seen come through Lee in the 20 years I have followed them closely. I'm not real sure why he never did more with the talent he had.
  12. Oh yeah, I remember them, and I remember the Wizard of Oz stuff. Jermaine Alfred was the qb before Clint. He's on Lee's coaching staff now.
  13. Hey weed, who did you have playing for Lee? If you don't mind me asking?
  14. Can't I get some good natured trash talk in without being put on the spot for some money;D
  15. The only shed that is important here is the woodshed that Lee is going to take West Brook behind...
  16. Trust me weed, I wouldn't have ever brought up those years if it weren;'t for last year being brought up. 1999-2001 doesn't matter, neither does last year.
  17. patitan, exactly.... Last year was last year, this year is this year. I felt that he was somehow going to use last year's score to counteract my claim of WB having trouble getting to 38, but hey if that wasn't his intent, then my bad
  18. Couldn't tell you... But I could tell you that from 1999-2001 Lee beat the fire out of West Brook by a combined 145-21
  19. Too bad Desarian Cartwright, the backup rb, quit the team earlier this year. He could have been a big help. Zac Zellars, starting defensive end, is still out with an injured thumb too.
  20. Riiiiight Lee's defense has been just as dominant, if not moreso, as West Brook's. If you would be good to go with someone predicting 38 points on your defense then raise your hand. I thought so lol
  21. Jarvis Moore is a senior by the way. Sounds like he broke his leg. He had been on varsity since his freshman year and was a four year starter.
  22. If they don't get some turnovers, they will have a very hard time getting to 38 points. Cy Falls put up 47 points on Westfield, and Spring Branch Memorial beat Westfield, so I'm sorry if I'm not thrilled about putting up 24 points on Westfield this year. Of course, I'll be here win or loss for the Ganders. If the Bruins can put up 38 the hard way, then I'll gladly eat my words on here. It's just that Lee's defense has only given up 46 points all year through 5 games.
  23. You can't always use the scores against common opponents, but Lee and WB each put the same kind of whomping on Kingwood. West Brook has a heckuva running game. They will need it and then some to move on Lee's defense this year. I think they will need to get to the outside. So far, through five games, Lee opponents have rushed the ball a total of 151 times for 502 yards. 60 of those yards came on 3 plays late in the 4th quarter against Sterling with Lee's second and third team in. Either way, teams haven't done a lot of running on Lee. I don't doubt that WB will be able to move the ball, but they will need the help of a lot of turnovers to put up 38 points in my opinion. I'll take Lee 20-15...
  24. Will the Chronicle ever change Michael's first name I wonder lol
  25. Anyone having trouble getting the feed to work?
