  1. Good. I'm actually rooting for Memorial, now that West Brook is wanting PAM to lose lol
  2. Except these aren't even district games. So, you take these wins and a $1.39 and you can get you a jumbo jack.
  3. Too many mistakes. Strake Jesuit played mistake free. Lee had 3 turnovers inside Strake's 30, with one coming at the goalline. Lee also had a fumble that was returned for a td by SJ. Just way too many mistakes. By no means did Lee deserve to win. I wouldn't give up on the Ganders just yet though. There were enough positives here to keep me from being completely devastated. As soulja pointed out, Lee was able to move the ball pretty much the whole night. Josh Jones had 159 yards rushing and 151 yards passing for the Ganders. Lee held SJ to 82 yards on the ground on 32 carries. Just a few positives in an otherwise dismal night.
  4. Didn't look good for Lee out there tonight. Too many turnovers. Not much energy. Looked like they were forced to play and really wish they could be somewhere else doing something else. Josh looked good. Jarvis looked good. Craft looked good. The defense stopped the run well. The pass was killing them though.
  5. Most folks in the district last year knew that Channelview was better than West Brook. We were right in thinking so...
  6. ok, who went and wound up the knob on patitan's back this morning?
  7. If it's not an ice cream vending machine in an amusement park then why does Central's ac work lol That's what gets me. What if Stallworth took away the headsets of the Central coaches, hey this isn't a Madonna concert, what you need headsets for? then we take away running water, hey man this ain't Hoover dam, what you need water for? Let's take away the benches, hey man this aint an Opera, what you need to sit down for? lol We could go on all day with this. Point being if Central needs to be babied with some cool ac in their lockerroom, then the opposing team should get the same treatment. It's absolutely shameless and the fact that you are not condemning it is not very good man, seriously. Stop the bickering and think about what you're defending. It's shameless if Central is really doing that on purpose to the visiting locker room. If they are not doing it intentionally, then say that. If they are doing it intentionally, don't try to defend it by saying this is football and not an amusement park...that just makes what Drake says that much more believable. If the community actually condones that...shame on ya...
  8. I'll chime back in here. I have no reason to whine. The last time I whined about a Lee loss was to Aldine Nimitz in 2003. I felt, and still do, that we got shafted that game. Sometimes it's paranoia, sometimes it really is homefield advantage and a little shady business going on. It happens. Lee was the beneficiary of some shady business when Brian Johnson was qb and we played at Port Arthur in 2003. I'll admit that Lee got a couple of breaks. Let's just all be honest here. It's not whining. It's called being honest, much like I said on the other forum. Lee honestly got whomped last year by Central. Lee honestly played PAM tight last year, with a backup qb, without attempting more than 5 passes. It's not whining, it's not excuse making, it's called rehashing the facts of the matter. Central honestly had the advantage in the muddy conditions with Lee having made 3 2 hour bus trips in less than an 18 hour span. It's not whining, not making excuses. Why can't we just call a spade a spade? OF FREAKING COURSE Central had the advantage! Are we that biased that you cannot see where Central would have an advantage there? Is your hatred of Lee and love of Central blinding you that much that you cannot admit something that would be so obvious to an innocent bystander? Of course Central had the advantage under those circumstances, that much should not even be up for discussion. To even be challenging that Central had a built in advantage under those circumstances is absurd. On Lee's turf, in dry conditions, Central might have won 63-20. who knows? That never will take place. Under the conditions of the game that DID take place, Central had a stacked deck. If what Drake is saying is correct and the ac is not working in the visitor's dressing room and the home dressing room does work...wow..... I don't even want to think that this fact is actually true.
  9. Josh Jones is an excellent runner. He's not scared of anyone from Central that's for sure. He had to play against Cunningham Middle School. If you can survive that, then Central is a walk in the park. lol Lee gained 100 more yards this year against Central, with a wet football, muddy field, on the road, after having made 3 different 2 hour bus trips within the last 18 hours. I like what Josh was able to do, in his first game back, in hostile conditions, in a weird setting, the day after Lee was supposed to play, no band, hardly any fans, just a strange setting for playing football.
  10. One of Lee's slot receivers(Kevin Craft) runs the 3rd leg on the 400 relay team that finished in the top 5 in the region last year. Craft is plenty fast. Luna is more of a hands guy. Lee doesn't go deep a lot, and they certainly were not going to go deep a lot against Central's attacking defense. That's what they tried last year and it got Jeremy's leg broke in the process. Looking at the stats, it actually sounds like Mahan was playing. Now we just need to get our starting center back, and get the wrinkles ironed out and Lee will be ok. To those of you saying Lee doesn't deserve to be ranked here or there or predicted to win district, I understand some of that is a Golden Triangle bias towards PAM and WB... But did you see Lee last year against Central? I know some of these Jaguar fans had to have made the trip to Baytown to see that one. By all rights, Central should have beat Lee 42-7 last year. They dominated Lee from the first whistle through the last. They ran all up and down the field at will. Lee was sacked every other play. Lee couldn't get any positive yardage running the ball. The only play Lee got was a hail mary to Rashad Mohammed where the d-back kinda slipped and Mohammed took it to the house from about 65 yards out. That was probably half of Lee's yards for the game right there. It looked like USC playing against Rice last year, with Central being USc and Lee being Rice. Central tore into Lee, ran them over, bulldozed them, ate them for lunch. Guess what...Lee won district last year. Guess what, Lee played toe to toe with a top 10 team in the playoffs last year. Lee is so far ahead of last year's learning curve after the first game it's not even funny. Lee will improve dramatically. Much more than any run first offense will this year. As a Lee fan, I'm absolutely ecstatic to hear the news that I heard from the game. Lee's run defense shut down Central. Sounds great to me, particularly after Central ran for 300+ yards last year against Lee. Next up Strake Jesuit. We beat them last year, but struggled. I would like to see if we can stay ahead of last year's learning curve after the Strake game.
  11. We'll see patitan I'm not at all concerned about Lee's offense. If there ever was a sure thing in high school football....it's Lee's offense. Don't have to believe me, don't expect you to. Lee's defense is the concern. We finished second in the area in offense last year I believe, and Central stopped us to about 150 yards in the first game, with better conditions. Just sit back and watch that learning curve now with Lee's offense.
  12. Central gave us that same problem last year. Too much speed on defense. Blitzing, turning them loose, first game of the year. Wet, muddy. It's not a good situation for Lee's precision offense.
  13. If you like the team, that's good enough for me drake. It made me sick at my stomach having to sit there at work and try to keep up instead of being in Beaumont to see the game. I'm just focusing on the defense. Nothing anyone can say to me will get me the least bit concerned about Lee's offense. It will come around.
  14. I like what I see in the stats. Central had 255 yards on 46 plays, with 122 of that coming on 3 plays. I like those numbers for the Lee defense. Actually, I love those numbers against a running team like Central. I think Central had about 500 yards of offense on us last year. Lee had 254 yards on 55 plays. I think Lee had 150 yards last year against Central.
  15. Well kg, it's a long time til district. Last year, Central ran roughshod over Lee and Lee won district, so let's not start counting those chickens yet. Lee was again without Michael Mahan, second team all district wide receiver it sounds like. Hopefully he comes back soon from his broken jaw. I have absolutely zero worry about Lee's offense. Once district rolls around, they will gel just like they always do. Backwhen Drew Tate was qb'n, Lee would start the year off 1-4 every year, then go two rounds deep into the playoffs. The precision offense takes a little while longer to get rolling on all cylinders, particularly tough in the wet, muddy field.
  16. Thanks for the recap. Sounds like Central has a good squad again this year.
  17. I'm actually looking forward to hearing it bmt soulja. Since I havent been able to see Lee play in 8 months, I will take any morsel I can get.
  18. If we lost the qb then we're in a whole world of hurt. The running back going down isn't too good of a deal either. That's the two key players. That's pretty much the case with a lot of teams though on injuries. They should just sit Jarvis out til district if he's hurt.
  19. Duid you see the Humble and Ike stats? Sometimes you have to look past the scoreboard in these meaningless games and see if maybe someone got lucky. Ike had about 500 yards of offense to Humble's 200. Humble was lucky to get the win from what I can gather. wbfan09. What are you trying to say about Central dominating?
  20. I'll need to see the stats, but this is a much better showing than lee had last year against Central fronm the sounds of it. Central DOMINATED Lee last year. Something like 450 total yards to 160 total yards. Lee went on to tie for district. This is a game that I was concerned with, because Lee takes a few games to get the offense running smoothly. Central brings a lot of pressure on defense. Then, you factor in the rain. Then, you factor in that Lee had to go back on a Saturday. I'm not too concenred with how this one played out. I was afraid of a 42-7 showing like what it should have been last year.
  21. Twenty points isn't actually that bad compared to last year, when Central really should have sacored about 45-50. I can't tell you wht the problem is from my office chair here in Houston lol I was more concerned with Central rolling through Lee like nobody's business. If Lee held them down to 3 scores, without the benefit of a bunch of turnovers, then I'm satisfied. The offense will be just fine.
  22. Not the update I was looking for!
  23. Man it's no fun having to watch the Internet and hope for a good score to pop up in the next message lol
