Jarvis Moore got hurt the first play of the game. He was carried from the field and was taken out of the stadium on a stretcher. Preliminary reports are he is finished for the season. We didn't do too bad on offense. Didn't really need to do much the second half. It must have rained 3 inches from 30 minutes before kickoff through the end of the game. Sterling had 35 yards of offense at the half, with 2 first downs. I'll be VERY interested in the Kingwood-WB game tomorrow. Lee has established themselves as a legitimate contender after two weeks of district play. 2-0, outscoring the opponents 66-0 is mighty fine.

That's two shutouts in a row for the Ganders. Safety Reggie Butler scored a td on a punt block in the first half and another one on an interception return in the second half.

"Grandfathering" is like when a guy in the NFL gets to keep his one bar facemask, because he was there before the rule was put in place that made it illegal to have one bar facemasks. In other words, if the student already goes to Lee, then he will be grandfathered in next year to stay at Lee if he/she so desires, regardless of where he/she is zoned.

Sterling won once while Drew Tate was there. I think it was Drew's 10th grade year, so probably 2000. Sterling BARELY squeaked that one out too. Before that, it had to be 1992 when Sterling won.

West Brook shouldn't have much problem with Kingwood. Kingwood really misses that big fullback they had last year. Their defense stunk it up last year, and they are still not very good. Problem is, their offense is not very good this year either. I haven't seen West Brook yet, but based on what I have heard I'd predict... West Brook 41 Kingwood 13

33-10 Lee

Well, it went like this. Craft went down right before the half with an injury. He came out the second half on crutches. He had been moved to outside receiver(from inside receiver). Michael Mahan was back playing at another outside receiver spot. He looked like he hadn't missed a beat. He has the best hands in district. Third year starter Adam Rivera got his first action of the year at center. Jahwran Goode, who is supposed to start where Craft had taken over at an outside slot, wasn't dressed out for the game. I assume he's still hurt. Now, here's where it gets interesting. Octavio Torres was playing qb for the first time all year. His arm strength is limited, yet he's extremely accurate, so Lee went back with their bread and butter screen and short passes almost exclusively. He was able to complete a high percentage of his passes and let the receivers do a little damage after the catch. Torres had been playing some receiver, but wasn't much of a threat there. What this allowed Olin to do is switch Josh Jones to an inside receiver slot to get some more play-makers down the field. Jones took to this like a fish to water. I'm not kidding you when I say Jones could easily fight for some all district recognition at receiver if the altered lineup becomes permanent. I think he had 6 catches for 65 yards and a td, and Lee didn't pass more than a couple of times in the second half. Once Goode and Craft both get back, it will be mighty crowded at the receiver positions. I could even see Lee moving Jesse Luna back to corner where he got some all district recognition last year. He's a solid receiver this year, but Josh gives you more at that receiver position(more height, better open field running). Of course, you must take all of this with a grain of salt, because Kingwood is not very good on defense. I think Lee's defense is most certainly for real. Lee's offense is coming around, but they were greatly helped by a slow-footed Kingwood defense.

Vince Young is far and away the best. Then you have David Boston, Leo Mills, Vernon Crawford, Cory Redding, Ced Cormier, Frank Middleton, Shaun Rogers, Drew Tate, Ell Roberson, Odell James, Chris Anderson(LaPorte), Columbus Wooley, Chip Ambres, Derrick Foster, David Givens...

Did I mention it was 31-0 at the half?

Kevin Craft went out of the game with an injury. Not sure how bad it was.

Nice game by the Ganders. They got a few players back, but lost another in the process.

It was ugly. Real ugly. Offense couldn't find a groove, but the defense held firm all night. If being without wr Michael Mahan and c Adam Rivera wasn't bad enough, wr Jahwran Goode didn't play tonight either. We had backup qb Octavio Torres manning one outside receiver position. We had a freshman getting his first taste of varsity ball manning the other outside receiver position.

And boy what a 10-9 it was. Freshman kicker Emmanuel Torres kicked a 42 yard field goal as time expired to give Lee the win.

I don't know if I bring bad luck or what, but I have seen Lifeflight helicopters come and land on football fields during games that I was watching at least 5 or 6 times. I don't really recall any of the injuries being all that gruesome per se. I think most of them were precautionary measures.

Except these aren't even district games. So, you take these wins and a $1.39 and you can get you a jumbo jack.

Too many mistakes. Strake Jesuit played mistake free. Lee had 3 turnovers inside Strake's 30, with one coming at the goalline. Lee also had a fumble that was returned for a td by SJ. Just way too many mistakes. By no means did Lee deserve to win. I wouldn't give up on the Ganders just yet though. There were enough positives here to keep me from being completely devastated. As soulja pointed out, Lee was able to move the ball pretty much the whole night. Josh Jones had 159 yards rushing and 151 yards passing for the Ganders. Lee held SJ to 82 yards on the ground on 32 carries. Just a few positives in an otherwise dismal night.

Didn't look good for Lee out there tonight. Too many turnovers. Not much energy. Looked like they were forced to play and really wish they could be somewhere else doing something else. Josh looked good. Jarvis looked good. Craft looked good. The defense stopped the run well. The pass was killing them though.

Most folks in the district last year knew that Channelview was better than West Brook. We were right in thinking so...

If it's not an ice cream vending machine in an amusement park then why does Central's ac work lol That's what gets me. What if Stallworth took away the headsets of the Central coaches, hey this isn't a Madonna concert, what you need headsets for? then we take away running water, hey man this ain't Hoover dam, what you need water for? Let's take away the benches, hey man this aint an Opera, what you need to sit down for? lol We could go on all day with this. Point being if Central needs to be babied with some cool ac in their lockerroom, then the opposing team should get the same treatment. It's absolutely shameless and the fact that you are not condemning it is not very good man, seriously. Stop the bickering and think about what you're defending. It's shameless if Central is really doing that on purpose to the visiting locker room. If they are not doing it intentionally, then say that. If they are doing it intentionally, don't try to defend it by saying this is football and not an amusement park...that just makes what Drake says that much more believable. If the community actually condones that...shame on ya...

I'll chime back in here. I have no reason to whine. The last time I whined about a Lee loss was to Aldine Nimitz in 2003. I felt, and still do, that we got shafted that game. Sometimes it's paranoia, sometimes it really is homefield advantage and a little shady business going on. It happens. Lee was the beneficiary of some shady business when Brian Johnson was qb and we played at Port Arthur in 2003. I'll admit that Lee got a couple of breaks. Let's just all be honest here. It's not whining. It's called being honest, much like I said on the other forum. Lee honestly got whomped last year by Central. Lee honestly played PAM tight last year, with a backup qb, without attempting more than 5 passes. It's not whining, it's not excuse making, it's called rehashing the facts of the matter. Central honestly had the advantage in the muddy conditions with Lee having made 3 2 hour bus trips in less than an 18 hour span. It's not whining, not making excuses. Why can't we just call a spade a spade? OF FREAKING COURSE Central had the advantage! Are we that biased that you cannot see where Central would have an advantage there? Is your hatred of Lee and love of Central blinding you that much that you cannot admit something that would be so obvious to an innocent bystander? Of course Central had the advantage under those circumstances, that much should not even be up for discussion. To even be challenging that Central had a built in advantage under those circumstances is absurd. On Lee's turf, in dry conditions, Central might have won 63-20. who knows? That never will take place. Under the conditions of the game that DID take place, Central had a stacked deck. If what Drake is saying is correct and the ac is not working in the visitor's dressing room and the home dressing room does work...wow..... I don't even want to think that this fact is actually true.
