  1. Vidor will likely beat at least one of those teams. Will they beat enough of them for the playoffs is the question? As far as if they "can beat" one of those teams, I think they will be capable of beating any of them. Any given night............
  2. History. But history may change this year though. Like Lumberton's 40+ years of futility, it finally came to an end. Maybe it will be for the Pirates this year.
  3. Sometimes, you just can't help it... I just haven't felt the urge to stand up and clap for... or even play Cherokee just yet. For some reason the Aggie War Hymn keeps dancing in my head though......
  4. Fans may be important to the team as far as being fun but they are not part of the team. To think so it presumptuous.
  5. ... or a lot of top waters. They will explode on top water lures.
  6. At least for the underclassmen. Still waiting to hear from the varsity.
  7. That sounds about right.
  8. Our new stadium is a number of things, but it is not cursed... *knock on wood* ;D And maybe some day PNG can win a game on their new turf and prove the no curse theory.
  9. We'd bring the band and the Indianettes to the chess match with Nederland. So they can console each other after another loss. It is always good to show such support of each other like that. Heck, they probably bring grief counselors to the games with them and I applaud their efforts.
  10. Yeah, you would think a school that used to be 5-a would have better parking access and facilities. here you go AGAIN!!!! dawging on vidor. what is your problem with vidor? Vidor gives a lot to choose from. Lousy visitor's side. Lousy parking (maybe the worst). Unbelievably long lines waiting to get to the lousy parking. Lousy band.... you name it, Vidor has it. I was just kidding on the band. Everyone knows of their great reputation and the excellent job that they do. I just figured it would add some fire to a couple of Vidor fans eyes when they glance at it.
  11. Heard that about Ike also, want me to pull some old post....lol Yeah. NO WAY... CAN"T HAPPEN! POOF!! ;D
  12. This look like anything? I'm not worried.... thought I might as well get the season started off right with the wild speculations.
  13. I went to Yuma back in the early 80's to visit my brother who was stationed there. They have an old historical prison back from the old western days, the Yuma Territorial Prison. I think that is where they likely got their nickname.
  14. I don't know of any but I would love to have a Bullmastiff.
  15. No kidding. It gives them a fighting chance this year, especially with 4 teams going.
  16. Thought I would pad my post count also. ;D
  17. The first specks that I ever caught about 35 years ago was on a Mirrolure. I have been using various colors ever since.
  18. I have hunted with an AR-15 and would hunt with my AK47 if I put some kind of optics on it. An Uzi at only 9mm wouldn't be my choice of hunting round.... although I would like to keep the option open if I wanted. I don't believe the Democrat/Liberal mantra of "We don't want your sporting guns" nonsense.
  19. Great flyfishing time.
  20. Not a chance. I want to be able to keep hunting and with my guns if I wish. ;D
  21. I sure wish that I could swing it. I have been hunting with my bow a bit more in the last few years. I only got one javelina with it last year.
  22. .... also, are you on the Texas Bowhunters website?
  23. Wish I had the time to travel that far. I usually make a trip to a day lease or guided ranch just about as far but I can't find the time to justify the money for a regular lease that far away. How much if I can find someone and how many hunters, family included, etc.?
  24. I don't know Bronc, I mean each year there is a Super Bowl Champ and at the same time there is still an NFC Champ and an AFC Champ although admittedly they don't shine as much as the Bowl Champ. Also, if you had that one more game, wouldn't it stand to reason that the UIL would make a little more money from the extra game? But the NFC and AFC are in difference conferences. They aren't divided into what is essentially an upper tier and a lower tier. The UIL already has that in effect with regions. If you win the quarterfinals, you are the regional champ. There are four regional champions in each division each year. You don't play outside of your region until you have won that region or in effect, your conference or area. You won't see the New York Giants play in one division and the Dallas Cowboys in another. They can never play each other in the Super Bowl as they are i the same conference or region (UIL equivalent). If it is all about money and an extra game, why not just play the extra game and quit worrying about divisions?
  25. If they are going to play for the final championship, what is the point of two divisions? If you take 64 smaller schools and let then play until they earn a berth in the final and then take 64 larger schools and do the same, what is to say that several of the defeated large schools couldn't have beaten all of the small school teams? Would the final game then be the best two schools or just the best small against the best big, and if so, why? I realize that the best small school might be the best team in the state (and has happened) but what about the others? If someone wants to make the case that the smaller schools are often the better team for that given year, then why break them up into divisions to begin with? Just add one additional week to the playoffs if that is the ultimate result and stop with the division nonsense. Otherwise, leave it like it is.
