  1. No kidding. For about the last three years, Nederland as been the only team in the area that can score 35+ points a game and lose.
  2. No, it is not the same. Texas game wardens have no authority in Louisiana. The Louisiana game wardens have no authority in Texas but when they are issuing citations at the jetties, they are in Louisiana waters. The Texas game wardens at the Lousiana ramp would not be in Texas waters. Second, there would be no proof that the Louisiana fishermen would have ever been in Texas waters. When the Louisiana game wardens issue the citations on the Louisiana side, they have the proof that the person is in their waters since that is where the citation is issued. If the Louisiana game wardens are violating some rule, then why not deal with the rule? Why have Texas game wardens return the favor by giving citations to otherwise legal Louisiana residents in retaliation? The citizens didn't give the citations. I have asked about this situation and have been told (not knowing if this is true) that the reciprocal agreement between Louisiana and Texas for boundary waters ends at the points of land. Out in the Gulf, it no longer applies.
  3. Are you gonna throw me in? Nope. He is hoping that you will keep some of those undersized reds or specks and he will have the game warden standing by.
  4. I have more if someone else needs one to fish with. We need to get together with Bullets in a couple weeks and go to sabine lake. I might take you up on the flyrod offer....I dont remember what kind of shape mine is in. Would be fun catching reds or specs on a flyrod. I fished off of the docks in the ship channel two nights ago. I landed five keepers at least 18" each. I lost a big 'un on a RatLTrap. He might have gone 24". He would have been the biggest that I have caught in about four years. I should have had a few more in the box but I had to lift them about 10 feet from the water and over the rail of the docks. Good night though.
  5. I have more if someone else needs one to fish with.
  6. I would not be an established guide on the Keys since I have no experience there but for a reduced fee, I would be willing to learn on the job.
  7. They certainly add to the excitement of the game. I can imagine that even an NFL game would be boring on tv it is was played in an entirely empty stadium. It would seem more like watching a scrimmage. I only disagree with the statement that the fans are part of the team and somehow deserve credit for the win. If so, do the fans deserve credit for the loss?
  8. Yeah but I think it is a gimmick really. I guess you can verbally commit at 5 years old if you want to but by NCAA rules, it is obviously not allowed. This is nothing more than a father making an over the top pitch for his son and his alma mater. He might have "committed" to Tennessee but I'll bet Tennessee hasn't accepted. I think that the kid's father is trying to vicariously live his youth again through his son, possibly at the son's expense... which I guess is why you think that it is not right.... and I agree. I just don't think it is much more than a publicity stunt.
  9. At least they won't have BOJO as their helmet logo ..... hopefully. ;D
  10. I doubt very seriously that they are "worried" about it. When you are setting off on a new program, sometimes it is good to change thinks up a bit to help the feeling of the new start. I think this is a fairly common occurrence and certainly not limited to LC-M. I don't think they are going to miss any two-a-days because of a new helmet logo. Isn't PN-G going to change their scheme up a bit? Maybe their new coach isn't worried about winning. 8) Good luck to LC-M, their new coach and their new helmet logo.
  11. I don't remember if it was but I don't ever remember players or a coach say that this year won't be good because we have a bad attitude.
  12. Yeah. The signs said they needed a 24 hour notice but I guess if he could come, he would. The guy that ran it lived in Louisiana but worked for TexDOT.
  13. Bring plenty of beer.
  14. Different team but the same position. A scrappy team from the year before with almost the entire team returning. It means nothing to this year's team but having a bunch of returning starters, like the 2005 Pirate team showed, is not a guarantee for the playoffs. I would not be shocked if Vidor won district this year and certainly not shocked to see them in the playoffs. I sure don't see it as some kind of clinch though simply due to numbers.
  15. They didn't run it 24/7 but the point is well taken.
  16. Vidor will likely beat at least one of those teams. Will they beat enough of them for the playoffs is the question? As far as if they "can beat" one of those teams, I think they will be capable of beating any of them. Any given night............
  17. History. But history may change this year though. Like Lumberton's 40+ years of futility, it finally came to an end. Maybe it will be for the Pirates this year.
  18. Sometimes, you just can't help it... I just haven't felt the urge to stand up and clap for... or even play Cherokee just yet. For some reason the Aggie War Hymn keeps dancing in my head though......
  19. Fans may be important to the team as far as being fun but they are not part of the team. To think so it presumptuous.
  20. ... or a lot of top waters. They will explode on top water lures.
  21. At least for the underclassmen. Still waiting to hear from the varsity.
  22. That sounds about right.
  23. Our new stadium is a number of things, but it is not cursed... *knock on wood* ;D And maybe some day PNG can win a game on their new turf and prove the no curse theory.
  24. We'd bring the band and the Indianettes to the chess match with Nederland. So they can console each other after another loss. It is always good to show such support of each other like that. Heck, they probably bring grief counselors to the games with them and I applaud their efforts.
  25. Yeah, you would think a school that used to be 5-a would have better parking access and facilities. here you go AGAIN!!!! dawging on vidor. what is your problem with vidor? Vidor gives a lot to choose from. Lousy visitor's side. Lousy parking (maybe the worst). Unbelievably long lines waiting to get to the lousy parking. Lousy band.... you name it, Vidor has it. I was just kidding on the band. Everyone knows of their great reputation and the excellent job that they do. I just figured it would add some fire to a couple of Vidor fans eyes when they glance at it.
