1. the kids are not playing YET... they will I am sure as soon as it gets voted on by District or UIL.

I would not be to sure about C.E. King yet.. took a butt whoopin to Magnolia last week...

Almost all years D-1 is tougher... You are right.. you play who they put infront of you.. It helps you win when the team that they put infront of you is not that good...

RANKINGS DONT MEAN CRAP!!! Especially this early.. a lot has to do with what you did last year and who you know...

2. Crosby plays Angleton and Ned in the preseason last two years. Before that we had Ned and Willis for two years. Prior to that we had PNG, Dawson, and Montgomery of which the last two are now 6A. Prior to that we had Ennis and Atascosita on the schedule. You'll be hard pressed to find a stronger non-district schedule than that. I think Crosby is going to have some even bigger non-district games the next alignment though.

Crosby has always had a tough non district schedule....Crosby has been successful since Haynes and Flan man made it better Just had to play a different Division in the playoffs...I think yall are missing the big fact of why Crosby went so deep last year had to do with going D-II... If Kingwood Park does not get the 4 seed Crosby is out the Second round... Just like C.E. King that beat Crosby last year.  Big difference between D-I and D-II..Crosby better hope KP gets in again and C.E. King is not affected by the two kids that moved to Crosby... If one of these teams dont make the playoffs... I dont see a deep run in this years playoffs...#plusone will be more line #minusthree.

3. What happen last year king when Crosby had twins yea that's what I thought I know this year won't be as bad bit will come out with a w and be 1st place in district and undefeated again thank u haters

Crosby did not finish "1st place in district" and "undefeated" last year.  Summer Creek did so you cant say "AGAIN"

last time they were undefeated in district and was 2009 and were Area Champs under Flanigan.

Good luck this year though. Its not going to be as easy as you make it

4. Advanced Placement courses do not count toward No Pass No Play the same as other courses. The school can exempt a student who fails these courses and allow them to participate.

you are correct. Advanced Placement courses do not count toward No Pass No Play...

However It is up to the School District to make that rule... Some schools make it a 10 point curve on eligibility.(59- cant play) some don't do anything.. (70+) and some do not have a eligibility on AP cources

5. Let me help clarify for some people..

At the end of the six weeks (which could be only 5 weeks) grades are due.

Usually Monday is posting but grading period is Friday.

For school districts that have 9 week grading periods: they have to have grade postings for 1st six weeks ONLY! they count for eligibility

UIL States that they have a 7 day grace period from end of six week or 3 weeks to regain eligibility.

So yes grades were due on friday of this week or last week (depending on your district)

Students have that 7 day grace, which ends at the last scheduled period of your school(330). so they could play on thursday (Varsity, JV, or Fresh) not Friday.

The kids could have gotten their report card on Mon, Tues, Wed, Thus, or Friday.  It does not matter when they get the report card. it is from when the last day of the 6 weeks

So after 3 weeks if they regain eligibility, they still have the 7 day grace period.  So Sub Varsity usually plays of thursday, they can not play till end of school on friday.

I hope this helps

As for letting a varsity player play on thursday... I would not push for that at all..

make the kids accountable for their actions..

6. What amazes me his how much attention BH gets... Coach Denny, (who is a great coach, dont get me wrong) is spoon feed "players" every year.  It is credited to the hard working Dad's and Mothers of the Little League or PONY system there...... BH loses Kaleb and Denny gets praised for still winning...

Crosby does not have the same kind of little league system that BH has... They dont have as many "Players" that BH has incoming every year... But they still find a way to win.. All due to Coaching.... Crosby has lost 3 starters, 2 the week of the Dayton series, one being their leadoff Sr. and their 4 hole Jr. which as started since he was a freshman, and was also their ace pitcher in the mid-high 80's... 2 of 3 Starting pitchers are SOPH.... They still win and no outcry about injurys or underclass men playing...

Here is my props.... Great Job Coach Wiggins and all the Cougars.... Keep it up....

Wasnt Beasley defensive player of the year last year?
Yes!  And I believe that Austin Homan was the 2012 Newcomer of the Year.
Homan and Hearn was a tie for Newcomer of the year... they both got the award
What is your point??... that was last year... Hearn did not play catcher last year as a freshman... Also Davenport was MVP last year... Does that mean he should have got it this year??? Davenport hit .456 this year in district and broke the strikeout record in the district with 104 K's (which was his from last year 89 K's).  And got 1st team pitcher this year..
Yea he was worthy of MVP again but did not get the votes.. No dought Thames had a better year..

Why do you have two catchers on the first team????? Are the stats that close that you had to have two? These picks get crazier every year. Seems like it's losing the meaning that it use to have. I would think Beasley has the edge at catcher.
I could not find Beasley's stats but the Hearn kid is legit..New comer of the year last year.. this year.... .376 average 19 RBI's.. He picked off 6 and threw out 2 in district...He is solid at the dish... the kid is playing on the all Texas Sophmore team.. He is a first teamer.
In all district a tie is a tie.. they both get the award
With a 9 team District and you have a tie for 1st team you could vote on the 2 that are tied and with the odd number of voters get a 1st teamer and a 2nd teamer...
there had to be 3 kids put up for 1st team or one of the coaches was not there or did not vote... that is the only way I could see a tie in a 9 district team.... they usually don’t do run-offs. Everyone would have known what that coach picked.. Could create predigest against future picks.. If it’s a tie then it is a tie... why not!!! They both deserve it..

So 4 out of the 6 catchers got 1st or 2nd team all district?  Seems like about everyone gets something these days.
No... more like 4 of 11-13. We have 9 teams in 19-4A. Some catchers pitch so another one has to step in....
one made D player of the year. the two first team had a tie on the vote... their for they both get the award... and one second team

So Hitman is that official? I have seen his name get thrown around for every job thats come open the past few years, he is the new
Toby Foreman.
nothing is offical until they announce it... JMO... It just makes since....
Was the AD at Lumberton before and was succesful (most of the kids he coached are now 37-43, most have or will have kids in high school, I think they will push for him)
Knows the Area
Has been Successful at a couple of schools
He is looking for a job and...
has been reported to be on Campus...

I really think he gets the job

Correct me if I'm wrong. Saturday is the last day of the week. There is a limit on total games a player can play throughout the season. That total is based upon how many tournaments the player is active in as well.
last day of the week is friday when school is released.  A student does only have a limited number of games he can play throughout the season... and can play only one game during the school week (monday-friday ending after school is released) unless it is a make up game or for tournament.....  so he could play one game tuesday but play both JV/Varsity on Friday or Saterday
14. This is a great series... gonna be fun to watch this one today..
as for last night.. here is what I saw and really I do not show any bias... no dog in this hunt
UMP was bad BOTH ways... I do think Dayton got more though..
bad calls on strikes all night on both sides...the last 3 calls were very bad. I have never seen a called 3rd strike that hit the ground to end a game that the catcher has to throw to 1st base.

Roe should have not been thrown out. (and he is allowed to play today)  he did not try to run over the catcher.. he side stepped, put both arms around chest for protection and NEVER lowered his shoulder a bit..  Even if he had slid feet first it would have looked smallish because he was waiting so long.  In fact the Cather for Nederland should have been thrown out twice... YOU CANT STAND IN BASE LINE UNTIL YOU HAVE THE BALL.. new rule that was put in a couple of years ago..... never the less.. no harm no foul.

However ump did not give up 9 hits in first three inn..  I thought Nederland played better and they won..
Again cant wait to see the end of this one...
good luck both teams..
15. So what yall are saying is yall are band wagon guys... If he does well you jump support him or if he fails this year you bash him...

What ever happen to support the program/coach FIRST not he has to "PROVE HIMSELF FIRST"??.. He has been coaching for many years... He has already PROVED himself.... Turned Orangfield into a playoff team and Crosby... Yet you still dought him... WOW!!!

What message are you sending the kids of your community (apples don't fall far from the tree)??
This is a growing problem I see in todays youth.... that "A person must prove himself to gain my respect".  That is why kids today argue with coaches/teachers/adults and are quick to make excesses when failure arises.  "Its not my fault, its someone else"

Here is an idea...try support your program... says positive things... support your coach publicly... THIS WILL BREAD SUCCESS..
Dont bail on the first little thing that YOU think is wrong.. KIDS HEAR AND LISTEN TO WHAT YOU SAY
the most influential person in a kids life is his/her parents. How you react is how they will.

I'm certain there is much talent at WB, I'm just not confident that Flanigan can utilize it on the level required to win in this district.  I believe that they will have a better record than last year, but not a record that will get them in the playoffs.  Also, following the turn around that WB saw under Stump and theor ability to keep winning, the expectations are much higher at this stage.  A winning season is not enough because prior to Flanigan coming on board the program was a winning, playoff bound team.  Just my opinion, but I don't think that he will be able beat Memorial, North Shore, Deer Park, or Laporte this year.  As a graduate of WB I hope that he does, but I am less than confident that they are ready to compete on a playoff level yet.
WB won district ONE time under Coach Stump. There was no big four when Stump coached the Bruins. It was a six team district including Channelview and Baytown Sterling. It was pretty much a given they would get in the playoffs. It is a much tougher district now. I don't believe anyone is saying the Bruins will win district but, they will be talented enough to make the playoffs. I think they knock off one of the playoff teams from last year and get in.
