I just confirmed there's no football transfers AWAY from Port Arthur Memorial to any school in mid-county.
That came straight from a coach on the staff.
Crazy that I had to even call them because of this stupid rumor.
most the time they are the last to know.

Evadale (lower level)
These were the towns I thought of when you talked about "MOVE INS"
Those have changed over the past few years.

If I had my druthers, the UIL would reserve AT&T, NRG and the Alamodome, assign out stadium venues based on which of the three stadiums is closest to equidistant from the two high schools playing the game, and assign ref crews from chapters nowhere near either school.
This would fix a lot of problems. It would take away the built-in homefield advantage for the Metroplex schools. Houston-, Golden Triangle- and Dallas-area schools would play each other in San Antonio. West and East Texas schools would still play each other in Dallas. Some of those small school games would probably be played in Houston.
It would ensure no appearance of bias on the part of the refs. It would likely allow for better scheduling because games could be played simultaneously. (It’s unfair to the smaller schools that they have to play games on Tuesdays and Wednesday nights, in my opinion.)
The problem would be the cost, which I doubt the UIL could afford.
I like the 4 days of football. I would be good with 3 days of football.
That way you can watch all the games.
Would like to see it at least alternate between Houston and Dallas. Not sure the Alamodome could handle it.

What politics would make Coach Joseph and Coach Todd to both agree to a Fort Worth crew led by Bill Theodore for their 2022 game? I know Coach Todd pretty well and he doesnt strike me as the kind of guy who plays politics in the least..and I would think the same applies to Coach Joseph if he's like his Dad
Like you said Bill Theodore is "the head honcho of TASO."
You really do not think that was not a factor?

Because it would be a stupid rule.
read a few rule books and you will find plenty of stupid rules.
would not surprise me that if this becomes a problem that the NCAA addresses it with s specific rule or applies one of their catch all rules to it.

A lot of it keeps the UIL from being in the red...you think the marching band, one act play and academic contests make money? Absolutely not lol
there are some numbers on this report that just leads to more questions.

Good question. I never understood why you would have fan votes for these kind of things anyways other than creating clicks on the website. Otherwise, you're DCTF, you're credible. Just name the COY from the votes from your staff. Should be good enough for everyone.
BTW, I don't care for "fan vote" gigs. Most times it's all about who has the most fans and not about who is most deserving.
real easy in a world where everybody gets a trophy have 2 categories.
media COY and fan choice
that way they can still get their clicks and the fans feel like they have a say.

Worthy yes but shouldn’t get it over the guy that beat him in the title game. Just my opinion though everyone has one
Then why have a vote? Just give it to the championship coach every year.
Some coaches do more with less and some do less with more............

Smart based on the current rules? Sure.
It also shows a lack of respect and integrity by SOC. It’s unsportsmanlike. The NFL doesn’t allow this and neither should the UIL and NCAA.

Theodore's crew is pretty well thought of generally..he's also the head honcho at TASO
well now we know why he was calling at state.
I guess he must have just had a bad game........
You might want to ask Mike Fitch who the head honcho of TASO is.........

It was Bill Theodore's crew...I'd have to research all of them..I know one the guys on the crew has kids that go to Midlothian...would have to research the others
That crew was not very good last year.
Makes you wonder how some of these crews make it to state.

Well this year was lower than years past so that’s a start, but you are right what makes sense doesn’t. All about the Benjamin’s! Houston area teams don’t get ever no love or respect from the UIL…
do the math.
200k attendance times $20 a ticket.
where does all the money that the UIL makes off sports go to?
-

I’m sure it wouldn’t either, but if you rotate the state championship game then you won’t have this problem.. the teams going for 3 peats could have played at Alamodome, NRG, and Cowboy stadium. But if they are so gung-ho about having it in the DFW 1A-3A could easily utilize The Star I’m sure…
It does not matter what makes sense or what the people want.
It is all about the money.........
The Dallas area does not travel well and the Houston area does.
They can make more MONEY having it in Dallas.........
Until the Houston area people stop going to Dallas to watch games it will stay there.

With what they have returning, I think PNG will be better next year if they can replace Shea.
Nyguen will be tough, but Chatagnier and the young RB coming up should be able to fill in. Having most of that O-line back sure makes things easier.
Reid Richards is one that hardly came off the field. Kid is a ball player. It may take 2 guys to replace him, but it can be done.
As for Shea…PNG won more games with him out this season than when he played. That said, he was never truly out. I commented on many game threads this season about him on the sidelines on a scooter giving signals and rolling around motivating the team and getting in Bailey’s ear after every series. All of his 1 & 2 yard TD’s from the wildcat can be easily replaced. The leadership he displayed the last 2 seasons on and off the field was the difference in my opinion.
Stats can be replaced. Leadership is much harder to quantify. If someone can fill Shea’s huge shoes, PNG should have another great season.
does PN-g have anything coming up past what they have for next year?

Forgot to add Coach Surratt and his staff makes players better than they ever thought they could be.
Talent will change from year to year in all programs.
These programs are successful because the get the most out of their players like you said.
That is why coaching is more important that the talent.

Timpson lost a lot
Garrison will be the favorite in that district but I think they were senior heavy.
Hemphill should be able to match up with the others better than the district they were in.

I thought Stark had done a pretty good job at Hemphill. Was that not the sentiment of the community?
I heard Tod was not happy at Hemphill.
Hemphill dropping down to 2A I will make them competitive in that district.
