I thought Stark had done a pretty good job at Hemphill. Was that not the sentiment of the community?
I heard Tod was not happy at Hemphill.
Hemphill dropping down to 2A I will make them competitive in that district.

I've often wondered how the interviews go for coaches who have awful records - How do you explain in three seasons your record as 3-25?
The Splendora job will be easy to explain.

I have not seen anything on the Timpson head coach leaving yet.
On a side note Timpson head coach Terry Therwhanger won two NCAA Division II national championships in the long jump at Angelo State – indoors in 1985 and outdoors in 1986. His best jump was 26 feet, 4 inches.
Teneha got a new head coach also.
He went to admin and one of the coordinators took over.
Dont know if that will be what happens in Timpson.
He said he was staying until TB/10 graduated

that will be a job for someone who just wants a AD/head football coach on their resume.

They were, but are back at PNI now for the first time in a few years. I did my kid’s class Christmas party yesterday with his wife. He’s a Nederland grad, with a business in Groves, that lives in PN. I do think he should have recused himself from this game even though I think he did a fine job. Just rewatching the game, he seemed to be the senior official. When the other refs had questions, they went to him. He has reffed at some high levels including college.
The chain gang was from Vidor. Maybe they gave us some 9 yard 1st downs. 😀What is bad is at the state game they bring a ALT official.
All he would have had to do is switch with the ALT at anytime before the game.

Who says he has kids that go to PNG? Not arguing - I don’t have any personal knowledge, but I heard he had no kids at PNG.
google is your friend and Facebook..... lol

He did and I corrected him....the official who lives or works in Port Neches threw one flag the entire game and that was a hands to the face
Todd even said the ref warned him 2-3 times before he flagged them for hands to the face.
The ref knew he should not be calling that game.
Perception is reality no matter if anything happened or not
The ref has kids that go to PN-gisd and he owns a business that services the PN-g community.
You know if he would have made a call against PN-g it would have effected his business.
It is a no win situation for him and PN-g.
If the ref wasn't from PN-g this would not even be an issue today.

only 2 were competitive.

OK, opinion time: During the above mentioned time frame, at Nederland, even Neuman couldn't bring a team to the big dance. Why do you suppose that is?!
no turf field or indoor workout facilities.........

Mostly true. But this years' group of PNG seniors never lost to Ned, from middle school through 12 grade, under both the Faircloth system, and then the Joseph system for the past two seasons. *
* 2 or 3 of this seasons' Srs were on the 2021 varsity team that lost to Ned
In the past 10 years PN-g had several more talented teams than this years team.
Several of those years PN-g should killed NED with the talent they had.
Ole Uncle Larry worked his magic and out coached Faircloth

I’m still a huge Faircloth fan. He certainly put a lot of fun teams together. And we were a better-than-average team most of the time, and we had a few great teams under him. Not to mention sending several qbs to play college ball.
yea but he could not beat NED.......

No reason for insults. I didn’t miss the point. I’m saying it takes all 3 to be the best.
Besides, I’ve graduated to washable markers.
you did miss the point
those markers are going to hurt your teeth.....
you better stick to the crayons

Give me a team with great players and a great coach and a great community, and I’ll beat your well coached average players every time though.
you missed the point but that does not surprise me.
I hope you get the big box of crayons for Christmas this year........

Field a team with a good coach but the kids are slow, all Freshmen, unintelligent and possibly mentally disadvantaged. How much winning will that coach do? Now I understand that’s a stupid example, but it’s just to serve as an exploded view. You gotta have a combination of coaching, kids & community which includes parents and administration. It takes all 3.
give me a team with average players and a great coach over a team with good players and an average coach.

Most veteran PN-G fans will tell you the problem in the latter years of Ethridge's tenure was that he lost his coordinators and his best position coaches and couldn't find strong candidates to replace them.
I heard PN-g might have already lost their OC.......

Rule for telling kids they cant wear RED gloves if the opposing team is wearing red? No UIL rule for this at all.
Texas football uses NCAA rules with UIL exceptions.

Hemphill is open
in High School Football

Timpson lost a lot
Garrison will be the favorite in that district but I think they were senior heavy.
Hemphill should be able to match up with the others better than the district they were in.
