I wish, but Crosby needs the bye week to prepare for district. I actually was thinking the same thing. But no matter the outcome, there would always be that “remember that time…..”.

We are all just happy to be able to play football in the same general vicinity as the mecca of football

Hey, anybody remember that time Vidor beat Crosby’s ass in the playoffs? Good times y’all..

    🏴‍☠️

Hell our game just got canceled, let’s play them again. Y’all free for another beating this week? It’ll be just like old times...

HEY....You can't say things like that...peoples feelings get hurt!

I guess I’m looking more for how it actually backfired instead of just the semantics. Crosby chose not to play in 2010 during realignment, Vidor beat Crosby at the end of the 2011 season. If anything the game was beneficial for Crosby because it led us down the path to better coaches. Vidor’s coach was sub .500 before he beat Crosby and has been sub .500 since. I’m just trying to figure out why Vidor fans bring up a win from 10 years ago more than that fact?

There is never going to be a season go by that someone from Vidor or the GT doesn’t bring up the time the Pirates beat Crosby on this site.  Regardless of the fact that they are always a sub .500 team that struggled to make a 4-team playoff scenario in a year they dropped down a division. It’s all good though.

Seems like a touchy subject.  We'll make sure to keep pressing on that nerve!

It is what it is. So like I originally asked, how did not playing Vidor backfire against Crosby?

I may be wrong but I believe it started when Vidor wanted to schedule Crosby. Crosby’s narrow minded administration, coaches, whoever said no. Vidor got the last laugh when they met in the playoffs that year. And there’s no reason to reply. All you say is…that was one year, what have y’all done since then, blah blah blah

When the Crosby admin chose not to play Vidor they had never even played before so the premise that we didn’t want to play them because they had beaten us is a lie. Vidor has beaten Crosby twice, once in bi-district in 2011 and once in district play in 2019. If that is several to you then fine.

How did it backfire against Crosby? We put better teams on the schedule that were more likely to run what we would face on a deep run like we had to the state championship last year while Vidor hasn’t won a first round game since that 2011 contest. Crosby is rolling and Vidor went .500 in 4A last year, if that’s the karma we got them give me more of it.

Crosby not wanting to play Vidor was based on Vidor's PAST reputation.  A PAST reputation that some still hold on to in their the small, narrow mind.  A small, narrow mind that will never allow them to see that people and town can change.  So take you football facts, shine them up real nice, bend over....and you know the rest
