That is true but like Coach Peevey stated in his interView with Step, last year they were the hunters this year they are the hunted. They won’t sneak up on anyone like last year. Playing at home in a tight game just may be the edge needed to get the W.

That's classic coach talk. Little Cypress stopped surprising people after the Kinkaid game. Home definitely has its advantages but fortunately the two games that they could miss are both non-district. And it may get them ready to play Vidor at their stadium. But I don't think the visitor side will be bare this year. In fact it may be very "bear".

BREAKING: Beaumont ISD school board votes against returning the name of Carrol A. "Butch" Thomas Educational Support Center to the football stadium.
The BISD board voted 4-3 against returning the name of Dr. Carrol Thomas to the football stadium. It was renamed BISD Memorial Stadium in 2018. Dr. Thomas is a former superintendent. Supporters say his tenure merits placing his name back on the stadium. Critics argue problems that occurred in the district during his tenure should keep his name off the stadium.
Stacey Lewis Jr. made the motion to rename the stadium after Dr. Thomas. He says his constituents demand the return and were hurt when the name was taken off the facility. He says the naming rights issue is separate and hasn't led to a company deciding to pay the district for those rights.
Board member Denise Spooner says the naming rights are important for district revenue, and she says many of the 6,000 constituents who voted for her don't support the return. She says if Dr. Thomas' name is placed back on the stadium, more people will continue to leave the district. She says his leadership is not something to be celebrated. She says to "honor a man who profoundly failed the community" is the wrong message to send. She says the district may never recover from the damage if it makes the change.
Board president Robert Dunn asked Stacey Lewis to amend his motion to approve the renaming only if enough donations are given to the district to pay for the renaming, to avoid using taxpayer dollars. He wants to sell the naming rights. Lewis declined.

And this is why the City of Beaumont will continue to lose its tax base as people will no longer put up with the nonsense and outside areas will continue to flourish.

Coach Mathews is Beaumont Enterprise Super Gold COY also. Just further proves it.

Pirates lost to CH by 5 with an injured riddled team when Mathews wasn't even on the sidelines. LCM lost in the 4th round by 17 with Peevey. So?

FYI The QB #9 Landry (Half the Bears' Offense) couldn't run, cut or plant to throw. So...

Back in Sept/Oct this wasn't the case, but if a healthy Vidor team got a healthy LCM team today, it would definitely be interesting...but that's neither here nor there....I want to see these Bears keep rolling with a win over Chapel Hill tomorrow night!

No doubt a healthy Vidor team plays Kilgore... not sure if they get past them. Somewhere in the multiverse LCM v Vidor @ Provost Umphrey Stadium is happening with 15K+ in attendance. It would be a battle.

I know he was the head football coach, lost to Longview, I was at that game. But when i coached track I met him and was amazed at how many athletes were out for track which showed me he has the ability to attract athletes to sports which helps. I am an old school coach who grew up where everyone ran track, no questions, but currently, track (the most important football offseason workout) is one of the least participated in sport because 1) it is difficult 2) it takes gonads to have to race at track meets and NOT win. Only one winner and todays athletes will get their feelings hurt and rather not run than to get a trophy. I thought upon seeing the great turnout in track that he would also be successful in any sport as the head. The great football coaches are successful at other sports and also in the classroom. I have coached withy a lot of coaches who brag," I ain't worth a dang in the classroom, but boy I can coach football." WRONG, if your character is that weak that you abuse your role as a teacher you are not a good coach. The best coaches i have worked with in 3 and a half decades were also quality teachers.

    That was a heartbreaker....

Driving down the field with a few minutes left and WB fumbles. It was a great year for those kids.

They better get peevey what he wants quickly, or Im willing to bet he won’t stay around there to long…

Peevey is from Orange, his wife is from Orange, his family is from Orange and the everyone involved (School Super, Board, Principle, Booster Club, Fans) is behind him. He'll get what he needs from the community.

I watched film this morning on Lindale vs EC. Lindale Qb looked slow at running the ball and there running back was average. Lindale Qb did have a good arm. I say this because #9 and #7 should have a great rushing attack when you add in the pass we should have a great game. EC 10-1 defense its gonna be hard to contain a spread offense. I believe the Bears can pull it off. Defense wise they run strong to one side or counter to the weak. They didn’t run between tackles much. Go Bears!

IF you can't seal the edge it'll be a shootout. Looking for Washington and the front four to hold the line with the LBs performing clean-up. I wouldn't hold anything back and have your best athletes on the field going both ways.

Based on the Friday Night chat "some" people have the Bears as a cupcake team and they are more worried about the fourth round. Hoping EC gets distracted.

Thanks for posting this, been following that YouTube channel for awhile.

Now ppl can see what im talking about in regards to Davis #3.

Also don't kick it to Ward #2. If he gets a lane he will not get caught from behind.

El Campo can be beaten, probably should've been beaten by Lindale depending on who you talk to, but that's debatable. It's gonna take a great game from LCM's defense to do it though. The Bears offense will score so they don't have to worry about that, just don't turn over the ball.

After watching that great highlight video, Lindale seemed to be the better squat with turnovers and specials teams costing them big time. Don't let the score fool you as it was a one score game until the middle of the 4th Quarter.

The defense has to play lights out in an atmosphere these kids have never been exposed to... but maybe that's a good thing. No mistakes on the offensive side of the ball with #7 doing his thing along with #9 and the rest of the crew could be just enough to get the JOB done. I just excited for Bear Country to have some to root for even if we only get a 2021 Area Champion Banner out of it.

Idk how because heck I went to Lumberton games and we made playoffs after suppose to be last, went to all Lumberton basketball games last season and won district and went three rounds deep. They just like hating on me 🤷‍♀️

Haha Don't take it personal... just people on the internet taking jabs. I would love to see a sea of Green, Gold, Black, Baby Blue, White and Red on the Visitor side cheering on the Bears.

I just hope the defense shows up for LC-M or this could get ugly in a hurry.
