Thank you to everyone for praying for my dad and our family. He had a heart attack at the football game and his heart stopped for at least 20 minutes. Thanks to the quick action of our Eagle Family who started CPR immediately, the blood continued to flow. They've shocked him three times, intubated him to get him oxygen, and are now taking him to the cath lab. They say he's not stable enought transfer him to his regular doctor in Houston at this time. Please continue to pray without ceasing!

after spending all that money on turf i would of thought they would of put at least 10,000 seating. the alamo holds 5000 now.
i hope they do something about the parking or there is going to be some long walks up and down hills.

With practice starting for most teams in SETX tomorrow, just wanted to say good luck to all the teams and fans over there as the season starts. I do  miss being there at times, though I know some people on here were glad I left lol. Anyhow, I wish a ton of success to all the area teams!

The today's schools, Beaumont Central, Newton and Hull-Daisetta are already up.
Tomorrow, it is Baytown Sterling, Cleveland and Alto.

I love the comment! That is the problem in society today! This is why this once-so-proud country is going in the wrong direction! I hope we can elect someone who can stand up to the values of this Nation and make the USA so proud again!

Well, fortunately it was much ado about nothing.  However, the manner in which this school board went about this certainly opens it up to criticism.  While some may realize that the board "tabling" the contract extension is different from voting against an extension, many, including apparently Coach Fedora, Superintendent Gesch and Board member Hood (who made a motion to extend that failed to receive a second from any of the remaining five board members), saw the distinction as unrecognizable.  To blame the Bryan Eagle for this "confusion" looks to be just an attempt to deflect from a situation which, at the very least, was poorly handled.

When you get to the smaller schools, I do believe you need black athletes and all athletes no matter of color. Some schools have better athletes walking the halls of the schools than on the teams of many sports. The chore for the coaches is to get the best athletes that are a cohesive unit for one purpose no matter of color and that is to win. JMO

A few years ago Newton County was one of the poorest counties in Texas. I believe they said it was a  below poverty county. When you are in that shape financially ,you just hold on to the rope and fight through things. Until economic growth comes into our area balancing the    budget will be tough. Our indoor practice will be in the gym.

Setx can't compete with the big area schools yes they have talent at certain schools every now and then some schools in the area get far in the playoffs but that's about it you can't blame coaching for everything you have to play with what you got just my opinion

Newton defense still looked salty to me ,Offense was not consistent. However, I thought Marlin had a lot better athletes  on the field than we played the week before. Marlin made several mental mistakes but they matched our speed period. I think we will play better this week, just read to much about how week Marlin was. (Trap Game). Marlin is definitely an under-achiever team, way to many athletes. We better be ready or Franklin will be playing Crockett or C C. JMO

Appreciate everyones posts,as a USMC Vietnam vet 1968(time of racial issues,integration) I give credit to God/Corps=a combat infantry group=none that I had ever seen/trained with.Flag motto 2nd batt 3rd marines=war is our business,business is good.We were known in the history books as"The Hill Fights"(some of the bloodiest fighting of the war)when during Tet offensive Khe Sahn firebase was under seige by many NVA regiments who now are less of a communist threat.I've earned the right to post I was part of a great fighting teamwork combat unit,my company Hotel Co(Echo-Foxtrot-Golf Co) has 21 of us left,more have died stateside than killed in combat from diseases caused by Agent Orange.5 are in serious health as I post.Wikipedia on USMC 2/3 1967/68 medals outstanding=3 Presidental Unit Citations w/4 bronze stars,1 Navy Unit Commendation 1 silver/2 bronze stars,1 Meritorous Unit Citation w/3 bronze stars.Not 1 day goes by that I don't remember a band of american combat bros who were asked to sign a blank check to serve a Great Nation vs Communist aggression.Did we really lose(57,000 + died,enemy losses 1.4 mill SMH we kicked some serious arse,really I got multiple scars/3 surgeries for repairs.God Bless USA & All Our Troops,Remember the fallen heros on Memorial Day,then remember those that served and passed afterwards whose names are not put on a Memorial Wall to honor them as those were also American Hero's,Semper Fi Liltex(code name in Nam)

Injuries and internal issues was Tatum problem going into district play, thats what i was specifically told, not sure what happened after that. 

So coaches don't make a difference----ha, that's really funny. So Alvarez went to Kirbyville and the program just happen to turn around by itself.

Long time ago, someone asked what a great coach was? Someone replied ,Bear Bryant because he can take his team and beat yours and the next week take your team and beat his team. Good coaches seem to make fair athletes become good athletes ,good athletes become college material. good coaches seem to get the most out of what they have and know how to use them.JMO 

Bad things happen to good people and good people can make some terrible mistakes.  Two good people...a mom and a six year old little girl were killed by a man that an instant before striking, killing and leaving the scene, was conciderered by many to be a great guy...a good man that made a terrible error in judgement. Two lives have been cut short unnecessarily: a mother who will never feel her child in an earthly manner and a little girl who will never be able to one day, possibly, see her own little girl; another life horribly damaged and may never recover emotionally or spiritually and many many other lives forever changed. I have seen first hand, as a father, the guilt a person feels when someone has died by their hands or actions...it is intense and sad and in this case it was not this persons fault. I can't imagine the hell this man is living through at this time...if it was me I would want to die! I bet this man would give his own life at this point if he could change his actions...JMO...I am not taking up for him because a mom and a sweet little baby are gone from this world to be with our Lord but no amount of hate or blame can or will bring them back. I am so so sorry to all the families involved and you have my prayers that God brings not just peace but also strength. God bless!
