1. Year in and year out, WOS is undoubtedly the THE SE TX team which has the best chance to go the farthest in the playoffs and possibly win state.  Coach Hooks works some voo-doo cajun magic and takes raw talent and molds it into a machine.  Some of his machines get better gas mileage than others, but they all run like a Mustang.  He's the best at what he does.  I'm not saying they will win state this year or next year, but they are clearly capable.  K-ville is as capable, but as we all know, it's who brings the right stuff on any given night.  They don't hand out state trophies for the most capable team.  I'm confident that a pinch of luck and good fortune normally goes with state championships.  Good luck to all playoff teams!
2. I have only seen class from Vidor's athletic program, and though I wasn't there to see the gesture, it doesn't surprise me.  Good job, Pirates!
3. Congrats to the teams advancing!  Keep it up!
4. Regarding all of the tailgating rules currently in place at Lamar, I think the folks at LU and the City of Beaumont are missing an incredible opportunity to generate more fan support and money for the university.  For a game that starts at 6pm on Saturday, why only open the parking lots at noon on game day?  Why not clear the lots at noon the day before (that's when classes end), and allow the motor homes and trailers to set up and begin their partying then?  Charge money and allow the big supporters to stay the night in the parking lot.  Allow LU or BPD officers to work security at all of the entrances and throughout the parking lots, and use a portion of the fees to pay them.  I am willing to bet the big-time tailgaters would gladly pay the extra money to be able to set up an entire day earlier.  I know we're not the same as Texas A&M, but tailgaters there pay big bucks to show up Thursday afternoon and don't leave until Sunday.  It's a win-win for the university and the supporters.  Plus, it would prevent the game day jam of folks trying to get in and set up just 6 hours before kickoff.  Perhaps the LU folks should ask other universities how they do it and conduct a cost analysis to see if it's worth changing.
5. You're right.  History has proven that Silsbee has BC's number.  My bad.  Revised opinion:  Silsbee beats BC 4 out of 5 times.  Good luck to both teams in the playoffs.
6.
I really dont think silsbee showed they had more muscle than BC. We will see next time in a neutral location who has more muscle!
I am not sure what game you watched, but that's exactly what Silsbee did.  If these teams played ten times, BC would win six of them.  This was just Silsbee's night to rock some world.  It is what it is.  :-*
7. I recommend using Baylor rather than Texas to make your point.  Longhorns are stinkin it up these days.
8. HF has a basketball program?  According to La Dove, they only have year around football out there.   ;D
9. Although I wish it was different, BC will be too much for OF.  BC wins 34-14.
10. Although I hope I'm wrong, I think BC will roll against OF next week and take 2nd in district.  It'll be fun to read the smack that comes from each side this week.
11. My prediction was 41-6, so Stangs only missed it by a few pts.  Always good to win.  Stangs should go fairly deep in the playoffs.
12. As is the case when WOS plays HJ, OF, BC & HF, the game is over before the opening kickoff.  Silsbee is the only 21-3A team whose players honestly believe there's a slim chance to compete with WOS.  IMO, WOS beats those teams like a drum year in and year out for two reasons.  First, their non-district schedule is as tough as it gets.  Coach Hooks is probably the only 3A coach in the state whose non-district schedule is that tough.  These are the only games that challenge the Mustangs before the playoffs.  They may get knocked around every now and then in those games, but they come away from those games with alot of wins and a whole lot of confidence.  Second, their swagger beats the inferior teams the day WOS is typed on their schedule.  Teams look at their annual matchup and know there's not a chance to win.  When you don't truly believe you can win, you won't.  Unless it's a playoff team that doesn't have a 21-year losing streak against the Stangs, it should be a crime to talk trash the week before playing WOS.
13. not hard to predict that OF will win by alot
14.

Big deal y'all won a football wheres it going to get y'all in life no were
Cowboy8....You can't form a complete sentence, yet you expect this to be an insult?  There are plenty of WOS grads that have used football as their way to get to college.  There are also many that have done well just through academics and furthermore, I would guess that most have done better than yourself.  Like others have said before....my WOS education has served me and numerous others well!!
BC fans received a WOS education tonight as reality was hand delivered, courtesy of Sir Dan Hooks and his followers.  It's okay to "hope" to do things against a proven team, but don't "expect" it.  The days leading up to tonight's annual thumping made BC smack talkers look silly...again.  Just concentrate on what your team does good, that is, beat teams your size.  You've had a good year, and you'll be a scrappy lil opponent in the playoffs, but none of that equates to beating WOS.
15. As bad as everyone bashes Butch (and I'm not a fan either), he only does what the school board allows.  Replace them and then you can stop the madness.  I hope BISD taxpayers wake up before da Butch tries to rename the school district and the city after himself.  It's wild to watch how "in your face" he is.
16. BC's parents really have genuine hope for their lil boys vs the STANGS (and I think its cute), but lil johnny and his buds know deep down in their soul they will get crushed.  As much as the crushing blows will hurt during the game, they will be much relieved when the final second ticks off the clock and the punishment will be over, until the next morning when they wake up and feel like a train hit them.  As they sit at today's pep rally wearing their pretty lil jerseys, the fear will begin to creep in.  As they read signs like, "Stomp the Stangs!" all around their school, it'll be the word "Stangs" that stands out most to them because they know in just a few hours, their parents' hopes will be crushed.  As has been the case for every previous year, BC will be the nail that WOS hammers!
17. It's illegal, and unless the law changes, that argument wins every time.  Folks argued about the seatbelt law too (including me), but it was still illegal not to wear one.  Drivers and passengers were and are still cited by police for not wearing one.  Like it or not, follow the law and there won't be any consequences. Don't like it?  Move to a place where smoking dope and not wearing seatbelts are legal.  Some folks clearly don't appreciate 2nd chances.
18. The program is legitimate, but the 6 pm start time has got to end...at least until November games arrive.  Also, relax with all the tailgating rules.  Let the ones who support the program have some fun.
19. Coach Sutherland is definitely one of the best!  And as good as a coach as he is, he is twice the person.  Congrats to him and his family.
