41-14 Cleveland

In years past, many 21-3A opponents facing WOS had non-stop 2nd half clocks.  I don't believe there was one this year.  Is WOS losing ground or are the other teams gaining ground?

Broadcasters need to lay off the refs!  No need to repeatedly talk about age, how long it takes him to walk across the field because of his age, or his "pacemaker."  I'm glad Lumberton is back on the winning side of things.

It ain't bragging if you can actually do it.  I say going undefeated is actually doing it.  The person who likely started this thread was likely a victim of the Mighty Rebels, much like a squirrel who explodes after getting run over by a truck.  Evadale, you are where everyone else wants to be.  Be proud, but not satisfied.

I believe the current schedule has been the same every year since this district has had these teams.

My vote is directly related to which team Todd Sutherland is coaching.  So, HJ it is.  He wins wherever he goes. 

Oh how sweet an HJ upset would be.

BC will beat OF by 15+ pts.  HJ will lose to Silsbee and WOS, and GIVE the 3rd playoff spot to BC.  Sour Lake Santa says, "Merry Christmas, Cards."

1985 Houston Madison was absolutely unbelievable to watch in the state finals.  They were nearly jumping out of the building in warm-ups.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think all 5 starts went D1.

NEVER count out Coach Sutherland and his Hawks.  They always seem to find a way to win, and as long as he's there, they have a better than average chance than winning the region.  It must be the O dark thirty morning practices.  Nearly every year, folks say "this is not HJ's year," yet every year they're right in the mix and usually come out of the pack in the front. 

AAW, thanks for doing some early spring cleaning on this site.  The lighter mood makes it worth reading again.

Unfortunately, the BC loss will prevent the Hawks from making the playoffs this year.

BC should beat OF next week and secure the 3rd playoff spot.  They won't last long in this year's playoffs, but they will be competitive within the district for at least the next few years.  Much improved team and good luck to them.

First off, BC has players that will make them very competitive in years to come (#12, #2, & #24).  Their game vs OF will be their chance to get into the playoffs this year, and I think they can do it.  Coach Stump certainly has made a positive impact on that program, and I wish them luck.  I predicted a 4 TD spread by WOS, and I think it could have been one had the WOS offense played aggressive in the 4th quarter.  Kuddos to BC defense though.  WOS' defense struggled to stop BC, and if wasn't for WOS' big plays and explosive offense in the first half, it would have been closer.  The last WOS drive of the 4th quarter was conservative and well-controlled.  WOS still has room to improve if they want to do anything in the playoffs.  Hopefully, their injured players will return soon.  Huge game for BC next week!

Not true. In your incorrect scenario, then OF would have beaten Silsbee, WOS, BC, and HF and finish 4-1 (only loss to HJ). The truth is if OF loses to Silsbee and WOS and then beats BC, they will finish 2-3. HJ will beat HF and then lose to WOS and Silsbee and also finish 2-3. BC will also be 2-3 after beating HJ and HF but losing to WOS, Silsbee, and OF (yes, OF will beat BC). Thus, the very probable three way tie for 3rd. Then the question...how does the district figure out who gets the 3rd playoff spot?

Should OF upset Silsbee, it would put a damper on HJ and BC's hopes for a three-way tie for 3rd with OF. I don't think an upset will happen, but it's certainly possible if Silsbee doesn't hit hard and often.

I spoke with a junior from BC today who actually believes the Cardinals have a chance this Friday night. Belief is a huge part of an upset. I hope it's a good game, but I still believe the Stangs will run wild and beat BC by 4 TDs.
