We all know about OF's sneaky offense which has the potential to break one loose at any given time, but this game will be Logan Moss' game to shine on defense. He will show why he has become such a beast. I predict he gets 3 sacks and totally wrecks HF's offensive scheme.

I believe the battle this year will once again be for the 3rd spot. WOS will win out again (5-0), followed by Silsbee (4-1), then OF (3-2). HJ will put up a fight vs OF but will finish 4th in district at 2-3. BC will beat HF and finish 1-4 while HF will finish 0-5. This is my reasoning for my prediction. You should NEVER bet against Coach Hooks as he proves year in and year out why he is the best coach in the area. Like him or not, he wins and he will do it again this year. Non-district records mean nothing. Even if WOS started district at 0-5, they would be much better for it as all of their non-district opponents are very good. Hooks schedules proven opponents in non-district so his players can put the smack down on district opponents later. While many of the other 21-3A teams are competing against much weaker teams, Hooks sends his players into battle. What other 21-3A team schedules Nederland as the first game nearly every year? I was glad to see HJ go up against Vidor this year. Though it wasn't expected the Hawks would pull out a victory, Coach Martel wanted his players to get a taste of the big boys. I think doing that provides the players with confidence when district begins. Regarding Silsbee...though they will compete for some of the game vs WOS, the Stangs will rise to the top. Silsbee still has far superior athletes compared to OF, HF, BC, and HJ, and that's why I say they will finish 2nd. State rankings mean absolutely nothing at this point.

How about NO should haves, could haves, or would haves; no complaints about dropped passes, bad snaps, bad calls, or the fans blowing their horns too loud. I would like to see the losing moderator clearly admitting the winning team was far superior than their team on this website. I would also say a photo wearing the opponent's jersey would be good for starters. Should WOS lose (which I doubt they will), COOP should say on his weather forecast, "Go Tigers!". Should Silsbee lose (which I'm confident they will), Aggies should say on his next radio broadcast, "Go Stangs!" In summary, no complaints, a thread iniated by the losing moderator admitting defeat on this website, a photo of losing moderator wearing opponent's jersey posted on this website, and the losing moderator stating on his next broadcast "Go, ...."

WOS will win out handily and take another district title. Silsbee will fight hard on Oct 9th but will lose by 18 pts to WOS and have to settle for 2nd place. Then the sneaky offense from OF will trounce BC and slip by HJ to finish 3rd.

I've seen a non-stop running clock twice, each time when WOS was stomping a fellow 21-3A opponent. So don't say it "doesn't" or "can't" happen at the varsity level because it does. It was not eating the clock. It was a straight up non-stop clock. I'm not sure who decides to let it happen, but I was actually glad to see it in these two games. Final scores were 60+ to nil, so there was no chance of coming back.

First, congrats to those kids who made this list. Seeing your name on any list is kind of cool, however, and please don't take this the wrong way, but here is what I see when I look at this list: 4 schools considered...10-11 every-day positions from each school = 40 to 44 players to choose from. This list shows 29 players chosen! Just my opinion, but I think it may be a little overkill. I know some will think my opinion takes away from the kids, but I believe the additional 15 or so excess selections diminish those top 14 who deserve to be recognized.

AAW, your broadcast was great, so don't let one bad apple ruin it. I wish everyone could just be happy they got to hear the game because of your continued committment to high school sports in Southeast TX. Without you, I wonder how folks who had to work could have heard the game. Your desire to promote this area's youth is unparallel. Thanks for doing what you do. Congrats NHS on a great year!

I believe you are the only one I know that calls the regional tourney the regional finals and the state tourney the state finals. I have been going to the state tourney since 1972, 38 straight years, and I have only known and heard the state tourney be called the STATE TOURNAMENT! Fact: Joubert and Silsbee's coach have proven to be winners over a longer period of time.

Joubert has established himself as a long-time winner, and I think he's going to be successful wherever he coaches. He played for HJ on their '91 state championship team, so he's gotta be good. I hope he stays at Kountze and doesn't get in the middle of a potential messy situation.
