1. Keep your heads Raiders, we're very proud of you.
2. Come on, give me a little credit.  8 recievers does not mean 8 wide recievers. I was pointing out that the QB spreads it around. He doesn't have or need a favorite target. Several of the RBs, multiple TEs and wide recievers all make up the 8 to who I was referring.
3. I guess I'll stay out of the middle of the PNG and Nederland debates. Too big of a rivalry and each equally as passionate about their team (which is the way it should be). They certainly don't agree with one another. I don't have a dawg in the fight!
4. Beard was injured and out for the game and I remember every time they gave it to Grogan, he gained big yardage.  I was surprised Nederland kept passing because they were not having any success in the air.  Had they stayed with Grogan more, who knows how that would have impacted the outcome.  There were several comments from Nederland posters who said the same after the game.
5. The Raiders prefer Coach Credeur. I like his winning percentage against Neumann.  66.7%  And since you like math, that's 33.3% for Neumann against Credeur.  Neumann could have been 66.7% against Credeur if he had run the big back in last year's game instead of passing.  That was a "mksitae".
6. Delusional?  The district is very competitive and there's a lot of parity.  Lumberton lost three very close games.  Central beats Lumberton and Lumberton beats Livingston, but then Livingston beats Central.  Going into the last week where there's a chance for a four or five way tie for third?  That's reality.
7. Nederland has always had a faithful and spirited fan base (as evidenced in this thread). The team seems to be down this year I guess because of injuries. But I'm glad Nederland is doing better as of late, it will make for a better game with Lumberton. Lumberton did not play well against PNG, that is an under statement as they were never in the game from the start. They played a conservative game against LCM last week, but they took care of business and did what they had to do for the win. Lumberton has 8 very good receivers and the QB uses them all. The QB runs very well and much better than Nederland's. The RBs have more depth now than the beginning of the year with the emergence of McDonald. The O line is back and healthy. The run defense is solid, they have three starters back healthy after getting hurt in the Livingston game.  Nederland should expect a swarm of blitzes led by the beast, Anthony Beard. The defensive secondary is ready for the one on one pass defense that goes with the blitz. If Lumberton limits their penalties and turnovers, they will win by 13 points. All said, I expect a very exciting game and what a way to end the regular season! Go Raiders.
8. I don't blame Nederland for saying he was hurt, anyone that makes that kind of mistake needs an excuse.  That's your story and you're stickin' to it.  Nederland has always tried to compete with PNG and has never stacked up especially this year.  That's a stigma they haven't been able to overcome.  They make too many mistakes and a lot of it comes from the top.  This is just another example.
9. you don't bench a two year starter, but you keep your stud in the mix.  He was put in as an almost last resort and that seems odd given his success.
10. Why hasn't he been in the QB mix from the start?  He played QB for Nederland in middle school and in 9th grade and he was awesome.  He was a much better QB IMO than the other Nederland QBs including the chosen one.  Yeah it points to a lot of different problems with Nederland including coaching. That's my dig.
11. Beard to Dionti will be like a buzzsaw to a big lumbering pine.  TIMBERRRRRRRR.  Too many sacks and interceptions will hurt the dawgs.  It will be a good game, but I think coaching makes the difference in this one.  In the end, Lumberton by 13.
12. As an outside observer, this is one of those games that's tough to predict.  PNG is big with a lot of depth and good on both sides of the ball.  Central is also big, maybe not quite as big, better on defense than offense, faster than PNG.  They probably match up better with PNG than anyone in the district (imagine that).  Like ROT noted, Central played Lumberton in the mud and slop kind of like they did with Livingston, so it's hard to know how they would have played those games in dry conditions.  I guess nothing would surprise me either way in this game and I wish I could see it, but I have to support my boys in Lumberton.  PNG will be a slight favorite, but I'm taking Central at home in the slight upset.  I think Central will be more motivated than PNG coming off the loss to Livingston.  Central may have been looking past Livingston to this game anyway.  Good luck to both, whatever the outcome, both will do well in the playoffs.
13. Congratulations Bears on your turnaround season (still one game left) under Coach Crouch.  I think it's been a remarkable turnaround from the last several years and I'm glad to see it.  You have a good team with lots of good sophomores and juniors coming back and a lot to look forward.  Your QB and wide receiver have had a great year and they will be a force to reckoned with next year.  I remember the posts from last year from many LCM fans and parents who were looking forward to the new program.  The same can be said for Ozen, Central and PNG with their new coaches, they've all done great. High school football has a way of bringing a community or town together like no other.  We're all winners here in Southeast Texas and 20-4A is a very competitive district. Again congratulations to Coach Crouch and LCM.
14. That was the same scenario between Lumberton and Livingston last year.  They were both co-champs because they had the same district record although Lumberton had beaten Livingston 37-16.  Lumberton's only defeat came against their nemesis and arch rival (who we all have respect for) Vidor.
15. The answer to your question was answered, you will get your rematch next year.  No one said you couldn't respond on this thread, I think the point is we're trying to stay on topic which is Lumberton/LCM.
16. I think that's why Texas Tech is the Red Raiders, they didn't want to be known as the "QBR".  A&M might have merged with Tech!!
17. It will be a good game. I think Lumberton wins. Lumberton played a very conservative game against LCM and suffered no injuries.  They are healthy and if I'm reading their body language correctly, their attitude is much better than after the Ozen game.  They seemed to be fired up again and I know both teams will not be holding back here with playoff ramifications amok.
18.
Central can win a share of the district title.  They can't win it outright.  It's PNG's outright title to lose.  I don't see it happening.
good point, I missed that.
19. The fact is if Central beats PNG, the jags are district champs.  PNG fans should stay focused on the goal; winning the district, not just the statistics.  I think Faircloth is right on target.
20. Based on the enrollment numbers, Silsbee and Lumberton are closer in size than most of Lumberton's 20-4A opponents.  Silsbee enjoys playing the 3A schools instead of 4A.  Silsbee should be thankful they got the wins they did in their district and they earned it and deserved them, but don't come on this Lumberton/LCM thread talking trash when you lost to the Raiders this year.  That seems a little silly.  Sometimes it's best to keep quiet and I'm as guilty as anyone.
21. Yes improving each week is a direct result of good coaching, but also having the depth and no injuries.  I think I heard Coach Faircloth say in an interview this past week that each player has one position and consequently each player practices that one position for two hours instead of one hour.  You can only do that with depth and although it may take most of the season to get clicking on all cyclinders, once you get to that point a team could go very deep into the playoffs just like Central did last year.  A very nice position to be in for PNG.
22. PNG1: It's easy to draw those conclusions and (I'm noy saying I disagree), however, it's important to note that PNG has a big team, a lot of depth at all positions.  They've played great ball collectively as a team which is extremely important and overlooked a lot.  And although Harmon has been good, he wouldn't have had his success if he ran behind Lumberton's line, that's just a fact.  Faircloth has done an excellent job putting it all together.  Also, these same group of boys had success when they played middle school ball for Pt. Neches and Groves, so I think they were destined to have a good year regardless of the coaching.  To me the depth, the size, the skill and of course the coaching is the key to any team's success.  PNG's depth is similar to last year's Central team, which by the way will be a very good game this week.  Although the PNG team is awesome, I would not start crowing just yet until after the regular season.  I wish PNG, Central and all other 20-4A teams the best of luck in the playoffs.  It's easy to look ahead, but keep it one game at a time.  I know Faircloth will do this, I've been very impressed with the new coach.  The tradition continues...
