  1. It was a great win for Lumberton at the reservation this year, first win ever against PNG. But my observations about MB is that he's truly a class act and a great coach and his record speaks for itself. The PNG fans need to step up and support him. In Lumberton, we know what bad coaching was when we had Fuller. Obviously, changes are needed from time to time, but make no mistake, MB is no Fuller. PNG has a lot of talent coming up and much better days ahead based on your successes in the 8th, 9th, and JV squads. Considering you were playoff bound last year, don't make a reactive decision based on one bad year. Keep that experienced coach. The competition in 20-4A was much stronger this year and also contributed to PNG's poor record. With that said, an adjustment might need to be made on the coaching staff by MB, maybe just a reassignment somewhere defensively; linebackers or secondary (as an example). If any changes are made, it should not involve replacing the head coach. Your program from top to bottom is very good. Your fans are some of the most loyal fans in the state. Every team goes through this at one time or another. From one Lumberton fan's perspective, keep the faith and the coach!
  2. Two good teams and Livingston has improved a lot, but I'll take Dayton 49-28.
  3. Ball control, major rushing ydg, swarming defense, smart qb, great play calls, no turnovers...... the L-Train crowd, fans standing the whole game, air horns, high fives...Lumberton couldn't have asked for more. Congrats to both teams for making the playoffs.
  4. The only disgust is you that keep trying to stir it up. The Raiders got one thing on their mind right now and it ain't Dayton. We respect Dayton, but Nederland has our attention.
  5. I thought the stadium was awesome. Like a lot of other facilities, the parking could be better. It was a great game last night and I hate to see all the bad mouthing on this website. We're all passionate about our team and there's nothing wrong with that, we should all show restraint, a little class, and respect for others. The Friday night experience is the best.
  6. Yeah, I failed to mention Granato. He did a great job defending those fast Ozen receivers. Really when you look at Lumberton's season and see how many different people have stepped up and how many different ways they have won, there's a lot of reason to be optimistic. Hanna and Beard have pounded out the yardage all year, but the Raiders had moments when they passed the ball well when they needed it, the QB running the ball well when they needed it, the secondary intercepting passes for TDs at critical junctures, the defensive line recovering fumbles for TDs, the punter pinning the ball deep, and what about their FG kicker. He's doing a great job on kickoffs and FGs and may be the difference down the stretch. The long kickoff against Central with the ball ending up on the 1 yd line comes to mind. Next play, defensive fumble recovery for TD. With that said, Lumberton needs to stay focused and not have a mental let down that occurred in the 2nd half at Vidor. The Vidor loss helped Lumberton in that way. While Vidor deserves credit and they played a very good game, Lumberton is the better team as the record shows. You know what they say" On any given day"...and "That's why they play the game". It will be interesting to see what Coach C has in store for the rest of the season. Keep up the good work Raiders!
  7. Great game. I have several game balls to give away myself. I give one to the Lumberton secondary; Latino, Keith and Sparks, great hitting and interceptions. I give one to the offensive line f :) :oor the solid blocking, the defensive line for stuffing the run. One for Ryan Hughes who stepped up tonight when we needed him the most. Several players were hurting and he filled the gap. Ozen is a better team than their record indicates, but I assure you they will have their day and make a difference this season. They may be the spoiler to some teams or even squeak into the playoffs. :o :
  8. I don't disagree with that explanation Big House
  9. I think Hughes has already shown he can throw the short passes and long passes. He had 63 and 69 yard TD passes against Livingston. He also runs the ball effectively. How about a little blocking!!!!! There's no pick in the Central game if he had that. The replay clearly shows Jags hitting him in the back as he threw the ball. When Livingston was keying on our RBs, it was Hughes who opened it up with the running, then he lit them up through the air. I say keep him and Lumberton will be a better team now and in the future. We do need more balance on offense, but we need Duvall on defense, he is awesome. Let Creauder do his job and you do yours!!! ;) :o
  10. Vidor should be ranked #1 ...... in the small school category or TAPPS since that's who they play, but they would get kicked out of the religious league before the end of one season. Can't wait to see them in district play.
  11. I heard Vidor was also playing St. Annes??? Any truth to that?? St. Annes is supposed to be pretty strong this year for a 6th grade team. And the way Vidor handled Kelly and St. Thomas, they should not have a problem with St. Annes. The only problem they might have is if they keep shootin' the finger at the opposing team's fans, but it's never stopped them before.
