Until Jasper get rid of that offensive coordinator and the head coach the two brothers Jasper will continue to lose! You go from going to the third round two getting beat in the second round now getting put out in the first round! You are declining as a coaching staff it is time for a change
Well dang, you pulled no punches. It does feel like there has been a steady decline. No denying that. There appears to be no game plan [for any opponent], no in-game adjustments, no discipline, and no improvement as the season progresses on any level.

2002 Jasper. 1985 Jasper. 1988 Jasper.
The talent on those 3 teams were exceptional even for Jasper standards and each of them was more than capable of winning state.
I know there were some before those years too, but that is a little before my time.
All those years were absolutely heartbreakers. I was at all 3 of those games and remember the defeats quite well unfortunately.

Yes that is true.
Don't know how many times I have told people that they can't make me believe that prior to 12 years ago before Scott arrived that there in Carthage the talented and skilled young men to win with were not there. Yet they had only been to state final in the early 90s and didn't win. All of a sudden it's 7 out of 11 years with rings.
Yep, when talent is pretty equal, superior coaching makes champions.

Wow. I guess all of the weak scheduling is a thing of the past. Those first three weeks are gonna be tough.
As far as I’m concerned, they can start 0-3 if it prepares them for a deep playoff run. Steel sharpens steel.

The district with Carthage and Jasper (10-4A D2) is in Region 2. Jasper seems to flip flop from Region 2 and 3 every time.
I think the UIL hates Jasper. This Region 2, northern teams route is just stupid. But it seems like they hate Shepherd more. 4 teams go to the playoffs. So just make a bigger district already. I would much rather see more interesting district games with our historic rivals. Okay, rant over...for now.

Beating WO-S two years in a row to go to the semis - not bad Silsbee Tigers!

You're right. They need to be coached better. Composure and sportsmanship need to be points of emphasis up and down the program this offseason.
Agreed. Introspection is needed from everyone.

We do, but not a lick of common sense on the field. Our kids don't know how to act out there.
Let’s not put this all on the kids.

Gotta give your guys credit. We're completely discombobulated.
Not to take anything away from Bellville, but we have been discombobulated all year. Nothing ever clicked with this team, which is unexplainable with over 30 seniors.

Jasper has under performed all year. The team just doesn’t seem focused. What seems like the weakest district in the division has camouflaged our own weaknesses. There was a topic about disappointing teams a couple weeks ago. I would put this team on that list. I think Jasper loses next week. Prove me wrong Dawgs!

Don't sleep on Bellville. This could be one of those classic trap games.
Agreed. Not at all confident Jasper will beat Belleville.

Sorry, But this is absolutely an embarrassing loss for the Bulldogs.

yes but after all the hard work those kids and coaches have put in they deserve a few perks.......
Agreed. I would have happily contributed to crowdfunding to get this done.

Depends on what Jasper team shows up. We haven't played this bad on offense all season today and laid a egg. Still i think tonight was a wake up call 38-27 Jasper.
...add to that the baffling offensive game plan. If we have that same combo again with the additional injuries, WO-S will win by 21.

I’m just now tuning in. Any updates on Montavien Hunt?

And that's the thing. The kid is not that gud at LB.they lost the other kid 45 for the year last week.and I keep saying it. What's hurting w.o is the coaching. Since 1978 when all this has started.they have always had great athletes that could make plays on both sides of the ball. And now this is a year where lack of coaching has caught up with us.and just to prove my point.name me one player in the last 40yrs the coaching staff got them to the next level.it isn't any !!orange just have been blessed with great athletes that has gotten themselves to the next level.ppl wanna continue to say youth is the problem.no it's not.its the coaching on developing players.some teams have better players.but this a joke where u know u have a kid that u know can't throw.instead of doing things to make it easy on him.all they're doing is sitting on the sideline just calling plays.i really don't think they really wanna help the kid.this is an embarrassment for everyone that is from orange.
Most schools would love to have the coaching problems WO-S has had over the last 3 decades. Schools like Jasper and Silsbee have had some good, even great talent over that same time frame and neither have even 1 state championship to show for it.

Sad and pathetic situation at Desoto
It’s not as black and white as it may seem on the surface. DISD is a mess right now. There are some strange power struggles going on when they need to be concerned about educating children first and foremost.

I am sure the uil win treat jasper like a nomad as usual. But no way should we be region 2 again! To this day I don't see how that happened. Lol.
Agreed. Playing schools north of Dallas in the first three rounds is pretty ridiculous. But, I suspect it’ll happen again due to them trying to fill districts north of us. And since we refuse to play our Golden Triangle neighbors during pre-season, I feel like we’ve been in football purgatory the last two years. It just doesn’t feel right.

I agree that the spread happened to defenses. I still believe defense wins championship...well, most championships. I think defenses will eventually evolve to contain the spread. Or, the rules will change to limit the spread offensive style like Saban seemed to be championing a couple of years ago. I do like to see good offenses, but I don't need to see a score on every freaking possession. You need a good defense to keep the game interesting. I hate shoot outs. They are simply no fun unless you like arena football.

Very impressive - I will be interested to see match-ups for next week.

Okay, so Robinson may score a touchdown next week.

Center is always a pretty scrappy team.

There is a lot to love about living in a small town only 2 hours from a major city. The job pays well for the area. But like you said, finding the right person who will stay is the key. Lord I pray it will happen in our lifetime. Can we get one state championship since school integration within the next decade?
