Give that man his 5th star..
I know thatâs right - although I am sure he would rather have had the state championship. Silsbee has been amazing this year. I know this one will sting for a while. But, only good things to come for Silsbee and the fine young men moving on next year.

Offense has been inconsistent all year. Not shocking. Hopefully next year they will be more seasoned on that side of the ball under this new system.

Lord Jesus, we pray for you to give knowledge and wisdom to all the medical staff. We pray that you will give healing to Dazzlingâs wife like only you can. And finally, give comfort to Dazzling and faithful assurance that all is well. In Jesus name, AMEN.

May need to be Thursday or Saturday for sure. 100% chance it rains.Â
Not just rain, but thunderstorms., which likely means lightning. Unless the forecast drastically changes, they wonât be playing this game on Friday unless itâs in the AM.

Pulling hard for my Dogs, but I think Silsbee is in a class of their own in district this year.  Our offense will struggle. The defense has its work cut out for it too. Most explosive team we have played to date. Rivalry might keep it close though.
I concur. It would be no shame in losing to Silsbee this year. It would not diminish the season the team has had thus far.

I am a little shocked at the number of folks picking Jasper. Our offense is just too inconsistent. We could lose to anybody or beat anybody. I would never bet for this team. But, I wouldnât bet against them either.Â

Let me let in on something abt the one play that got us down there for Russell terkel to kick the fg.that pass wasn't intended for pup(#26)Kevin smith.pass was under thrown.tremaine Lewis couldn't step into it bcz of the pressure.it was for #29 Julian richard.i guess a lil luck is all u need sometimes.i was the opposite wr on the other side.remember it like yesterday. And I hope that ppl never forget how gud Silsbee was that year.i guarantee u if we wouldn't have won it all.silsbee or jasper would have bcz they were that gud.and the crazy thing abt it is Silsbee didn't make the playoffs that yr.they were 8-2.lost to us and jasper. Two top 5 teams in the state.goes to show u how gud the district was back then.and Silsbee and jasper probably was the 2 fastest teams in the state!!Â
Those teams were epic.Â

Sadly, the days of 3-0 games are long gone.
I miss them.
I was in middle school. But remember that game very fondly and all the pageantry surrounding it. It was standing room only.Â

Jasper wonât beat WOS thatâs a guarantee
Enjoy your win over WOS. Jasper played an ugly game and still beat HF.

Jasper was more depleted than we realized. I hope the community can support the team and give the coaches a couple of years to rebuild the program. DC is out of the picture this year. But I think we have enough to be in the hunt for a playoff spot if we can win. It will be a tough game.

Please. We both know he was under pressure from the board and the community.Â
As for your other comment, who care about Louisiana HS football.....lol
The people who play it. The state is small. But they produce quality athletes.Â

I'd rather 10 teams w/losing records make the playoffs than one unbeaten team miss the playoffs...and I'd definitely prefer to not see games decided on penetrations on God forbid first downs...but thats just me

Wonderful interview and exemplary ambassador for Jasper.

Wonderful family. His son Rusty was my band teacher for many years. He taught countless students the âartâ of music. Art Lay will forever be a part of the Jasper football legend. Â 2022 has been rough yâall. Rest In Peace Art!

Malcolm's a really good coach. I just hope he stays in Jasper. Someone's gonna offer him a HC job if he can keep running out defenses like this one. I know we were critical of the offense that we ran the past few years, but in hindsight we would have been better off keeping it with this group. It wouldn't be as good as it has been, but we would score a little more. I think we're only averaging 11 ppg right now, but we're only allowing 9. That's crazy and it's possible that we could shut out either of the two teams left on the schedule.Â
This defense reminds me of the old days. As bad as the offense has been, the defense is refreshing and they deserve recognition regionally and statewide.

So Barbay haters, is this Cornells fault?

I guess we all want success for our teams nothing wrong with that, but at some point we do have to look our recent history and calculate our average win percentages over the past few decades and if the Barbayâs arenât too far off your schools average win percentage by the decades then you can probably conclude theyâre getting about the best they can get out of the talent in the area.  Now if jasper was averaging 13 wins a season and putting up state title runs every other year throughout the 80âs 90âs the 2000âs  and now all the sudden since Barbay took over theyâre getting bounced in the first round then sure Iâd point the finger at them.Â
We know our team. There has been a definite regression.
