DIDBA at Nederland will be something to watch this year.  :o :o I expect they will keep us in every game this year and Ole Smitty will have to be looking to focus on other issues. :D 

I agree Northoftheborder. How do you continue to recruit the top class every year and turn out a season like last year. Sumpin ain't right in the kitchen.  ;D

Ned's D will be fun to watch next year. Our front 7 will be the best in district, with the front 4 being the strength of the D. Next years front 4 will average 260 lbs. and they are athletic. All QB's in 20-4a will be running for their lives next yr when they face the Dogs. Ned does need to work on zone coverages for next yr. I hope our coaches learned from the Central game not to pull a DL when in the prevent. I would rather see a 4-2-5 or 4-1-6 and keep the pressure on. Can't wait to see the heads roll next year. If Ned can put a good offensive plan together with their new power game we just might win Neumann's 1st outright District title. 

I hear Green from Ozen is looking for a better team.  :D

No, our assistant coaches aren't worth a hoot. They had a pathetic record of 57-6 in the JV and fresh ranks. Just terrible. by the way the 4 yr mgr keeps the stats. As thorough as he is, I would be surprised he didn't inform English of the foul count. Some on here are having a little trouble accepting we ran into a very good team and we didn't play our best game last night. Let's not dog our coaches, they probably feel bad enough over the loss. 

Can't wait to see our BIG'S match up with their BIG'S. I believe this is the biggest team we have played all year. Go Dog's !

Am I reading this correctly. The Jags averaged 17 + per qtr and only scored 5 pts in the 4th. Wow, what a let down. After last night, I thought our 1,2,3 would all win tonight.

Me too ballin. RCSSPORTS has Weisbrod as #26 on top 40 list as fresh. Bosha didn't make the list. Just don't mention same to he HJ faithful.  ;D 

I see my posts achieved its goal. Some seem to be a little irritated with my comments. Well let me tell you what irritates me. Several get on here and bad mouth a 14 yr old kid and his father based on their animosity and jealouy alone. I doubt most have seen him play; yet, you continue to hear: he has a bad attitude, doesn't respect the game, can't run the bases, can't hit fast pitching, slow foot speed, won't make varsity because----on and on and on. For now, this freshman was issued a varsity uniform. It is possible he may not keep it, but I believe his talent and work ethic will prevail. To the good people on here, I apologize for my retaliatory, over the top, comments. I know this young man and his family and my irritation got the best of me. To the doubting Thomas', if this youngster isn't special-- than why all the controversy, over a freshman 6 wks prior to varsity tryouts. What is truly hilarious, all those who are bad mouthing this kid now will be the same yelling and cheering for him to succeed when the games begin.

Oh I almost forgot, I do have one of Weisbrod's uniforms, 3 baseballs signed and misc photos of him playing for the Bandito's at my shop as we speak. I am getting ready to shadowbox same for his dad. Quite impressive. two of the baseballs are marked as over 400 ft. home runs. If you care to stop by PM me and I will be glad to show you his trophies.     

Bandito Baseball out of Tomball TX is the league I am referring to. I believe Weisbrod played with the organization from 11 - 13 and some at age 14. I believe they have a website for those interested wwwbanditobaseball.com. By the way, I am not his father. If you need more specifics catch John at the ballpark I'm sure he will be happy to answer your questions and satisfy your interest.

It's official - Weisbrod makes varsity at NHS as a freshman. I am encouraged to see talent was chosen over a name. Even with the negative comments about freshman and Weisbrod making varsity, his superb skills once again prevail. I can easily see Weisbrod moving into 1st base as a starter this year. I can hardly wait to see this youngster hit the ball. He has incredible bat speed and power. All spectators will be in awe when Colton goes yard and the ball ends up over by the band fields.  :o :o :o This kid has been playing for one of the premier youth select leagues, in the country,  for the last 4 or so years. He has already seen 80 plus mph pitching. Not saying he won't struggle, but can't wait til he really gets it going. He will be a great asset to an already very talented team. Also, I can see his dad calming down now that Colton has made varsity in 2 sports as a freshman. He already has and will contribute to both sports as a freshman. I just hope we all can set back and admire and enjoy this young man's talent and not be questioning how and why he made the team.     

I think we all know why this thread was started by a memorial fan. Apparently, it is bash NED and its coach week. I don't think he is getting the results that he hoped for though. Can NED win state--not likely. I do believe English will have them prepared to the best of his abilities, but we just don't have enough horses imo. I don't see NED getting out of Region 3 with our guard play vs Ball, LaMarque, or a Yates, but who knows.

Great, Great game. As a NED fan, I was glad to get out of there with a win, but actually had a heavy heart for the PNG players. They played a great game. PNG controlled the tempo the entire game.  I also, enjoyed the halftime show. If our students made bad comments--shame on them and their parents especially. I do hope PNG makes it to the playoffs. Doty and company has been a superb athlete and a joy to watch over the years. As far as the last play, I would have forced the situation rather than let NED take to last second shot. Keep in mind, PNG's post fouled out earlier and you need to block out K. Smith who is very elusive and one of the best leapers in the district. When smith goes up for the rebound the tip of his fingers is nearly 12 ft high. No disrespect to the coach, but i'll bet he is second guessing his play call.

I'm not sure, but I believe K. Smith was from PA until HS. At any rate, the rest has been in NED for at least middle school on. I think what X is really wanting to say is a white player can't play basketball as good as a black. Therefore, starting next year English won't be as successful. At least that is how I interpret the racial comment.        

How did the Fresh and JV games turn out?

Has Nederland football ever been state ranked. If so what was the highest ranking. I assume it would have been in 2001 when Ned made it to the semi's. Thanks

Trevin made all 3 1st team spots because they couldn't fit him into the present categories.  They should have listed him under SUPERMAN. He was the difference for Ned this year. He deserves all that and then some.  :o

You're comparing Dayton's QB to Crosby's?  Now that is funny. I don't care what the stats are. Merka would be MVP for many district's. Why do you think the #3 D1 team in the country recruited him?  Don't blame him for dropped passes. Just watch the kid play. 

I just love these threads that get a head of themselves. One things for sure, it's the playoffs, any team can win.  Oh ya, I'll go with Dayton  :D :D :D
