Best Multi Sport Star from your High School
cooligan replied to BADSANTA's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I have only been in Nederland 10 yrs, but I would be willing to bet Walter "Buddy" Davis is by far the most accomplished 2 sport athlete from Nederland. Of course, he played basketball and track before most of us were born so many would not know his name. He graduated in 1948. All district in basketball and track, I believe he was a state high jump champ at Ned, went to college and was only 1 of 2 All-American 2 sport athletes from TX A&M. Was the NCAA high jump champion, went to the 1952 olympics and won the gold medal in the high jump. Was drafted by the Warriers in the NBA and won two NBA titles with the Warriers and the St Louis Hawks. I read in the later part of his BB career he was the back up to Wilt Chamberlain. You should be able to google his name for more accurate info. Oh I almost forgot, he was stricken with Polio at age 9 and beat that too. Maybe AWW will have a link since this guy was such a great Aggie. -
Nederland @Dayton Scrimmage Concessions will be Open!

Dang! I posted before I saw the youtube. I was wondering why some of their seats didn't have side rails -- now we know. -
Nederland @Dayton Scrimmage Concessions will be Open!

Hey, the way I see it, at least the Dayton women make the games. The BH women usually miss the game, or at least the first half do to the tanning booth and salon. :P -
Maybe he/she is from Louisiana hence Bamahater. I wouldn't like Bama either after manhandling my college team in the championship game. Now you see how our law enforcement works. Usually liers can't keep their made up stories straight and get tripped up. The way I see it you still have 5 more teams in 20-4A you can cling to. Keep working time is running out. :o

Why all the Nederland predictions?
cooligan replied to phunter308's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
The good thing about all these early predictions -- the Team is still focused, hungry and humble. Neumann won't allow it to be any other way. Plus with the schedule we have there won't be any opportumities to be cocky. -
My dog has been saying full scrimmage -- noncontrolled other than punts and kickoffs. It appears Neumann is going to roll the dice this year and will not be playing it safe.
-
Man! Ned sho is popular. Folks just can't wait to play us. Sounds like it is going to be brutal every night this year. :o
-
We may need to have the grounds crew flood the field Friday. :D
-
I agree. Way to early to be looking that far down the road. Let's stay focused and play one game at a time. What's next week? Who will be our 1st round opponent? I understand the excitement, but let's not put a larger target on our backs than we already have.
-
Alleluia! Let's all give thanks and praise to the real Head Coach. Good luck to all. We may not always agree, or get along, but we are all still brothers/sisters in the eyes of the lord. LET'S GET IT ON!

I have been saying the last couple of years this is the year we are going to see how good of a coach Faircloth really is. This is the least experienced team he has had to deal with thus far. I don't think another loss to Ned will be cause for his job to be in jeopardy, but you couple that with a 3 - 7 record and no playoffs and I guarantee their will be plenty of the tribe sharpening their tomahawks for a scalping. Also, I expect to see a major QB controversy before district even starts, for I believe they will be 0-3 or 1-2 at best . It's probably a good thing you start district with Lumberton.

Faircloth upbeat over PN-G practices

Sounds like coach found himself a good church. Alleluia Alleluia! Sorry, I'm like BG --No Playoffs this year. -
Apparently, we still have some loyal WOS fans that are a little PO after last years loss to NED. Anybody coming into a scrimmage who's worried about the score or win, by your terms, doesn't know much about football. I could see a team that was 0-10 last year might be more concerned about the score for confidence reasons, but that is as far as I will go. Hey AAW, I guess we all understand Coop's logic now. When a team doesn't have 2nd stringers I can see how they always have 25 - 30 starters returning every year. Go figure. ;D
-
PNG 2-8 maybe 3-7 this year. No Big Playmakers. Faircloth may get scalped at the reservation.
-
Do you really have to ask? ----HE IS BUDDY GARRITY for goodness sakes!
-
Sounds like Crosby will be making a state championship run this year.

BMT Central at PA Memorial Predictions

Is it possible he is pointing the mediocrity finger at the wrong team? I don't see PAM as mediocre now that the program has the coaching to go with all those athletes. -
BMT Central at PA Memorial Predictions

Especially after last season. -
Noel will be the starter. He was hitting 50 today with room to spare. Those soccer kids can really boom the ball.
-
You can get by with an undersized OL when you have an elusive QB. Crosby will be fine.
-
Ok, How about the Best team in Vidor award, or the Vidor State Champs. These guys are toooooo good not to have a title. Just ask them. ;D

I find it interesting you pulled a link on Pryor that was over a year old. Why don't you look up Pryor's NCSA profile like you did on Couron. I believe you will find that 275 and 5.0 you're looking for. As far as Washington, he weighed 275 yesterday and is as fast as Couron. Boy, it makes we wonder how some people can even make it through a day.
-
Dude, I hope you realize some of the links you provided are over a year old. These boy's have grown and gotten faster since 2011. if you choose to argue over your ignorance than I can't argue with that. I find it hilarious you choose to dispute facts about a team which you know nothing about. Apparently, you are either concerned or just plain foolish. Either way, I believe we're wasting space on a subject that your determined to prove me wrong, with your outdated links, yet know very little about. All I know is the current combination as on yesterday morning. 242-275-293-275. Keep digging dude I'm sure you will find some current links on these boys, for I know all four are working to get noticed.
-
Sorry Friend. Hugh misprint by DCTF. He was only 100 lbs off on Pryor, who actually weighs 275. He didn't even list our other starting DT(last years newcomer of the year) who weighed in yesterday at 293. Johnson at 225 is a backup. yesterday our 4 returning starters weighed 242, 275, 293, 275. You do the math. If none of these guys run sub 5 40's than I guess all those college camps they have been show-casing, at this summer, must not know how to use a stopwatch. As the old saying goes, don't believe everything you read.
