Why would a defense that gave up 81 total yards be “lacking” in confidence? On the contrary. PNG D better not be overconfident in practice this week. WOS is a different beast. I will say that was the best pursuit and tackling I have seen from PNG in years.

Did you have that same feeling in ‘09 when BF got the job over other HC/AD experienced candidates?

Katy shutdown CH First half and scored two defensive TDs second half while being on field most of the half. Katy defense won that Championship.

I don't get the rationale??? WAC stated they hope to be a 2 bid NCAA Basketball conference...What two teams? They don't have one team now that screams bid and of the teams they are adding the strongest SH, ACU and SFA are fighting for one bid in the SLC.

Slot T will usually mask a lack of overall talent top to bottom with precision blocking and deception, but what I have noticed at the 5A and 6A level it usually only gets you so far before you meet a group that is just as disciplined and will slow them down, make them get out of their comfort zone and pass a lot more. Fact is once you get this deep the teams are all very sound, disciplined and do the little things correctly. Then it's no longer about scheme as much as it is about talent. I got Crosby with the W.

Many on this list are private schools that recruit. Biggest difference in Texas HS football and most other states! -
Crosby needs to be methodical on offense. Win the time of possession big time like PNG did, but finish drives. Had PNG finished each long drive FBM would be at home. I think CC wins this as long as they don’t try to get into a shootout. Taking down Tx High was, eh. I didn’t think that district was all that great. But beating Huntsville was impressive. Good Luck Coogs.

Now that’s a good question. I would say a great defense. Look at what WOS is able to do every year. Some with great offenses and some that just don’t make a lot of mistakes but always stymie the opposing def. and give them a chance at a W.

Yes. Todays offenses score so quickly that a good defense versus a good offense can look deceiving. A 49-28 winner is a defense that was on the field a lot and made enough stops and slowed the quicker offense down. Thats a good defense. LSU last year was a prime example. Tiger fans were going nuts early on about the points given up, but had never been used to such a quick scoring offense. Boom National Champs

Huntsville vs FBM?

How many times has PNG finished 4th or lower in District under BF in 12 years? Twice. This year and 2012. go back and see how many times the former coach finished .500 or less in 15 years...I’ll save you the trouble, it’s 7. Finishing 4th or less twice in 12 years does not make a standard. FBM alot to PNG not alot.

Time for a split. Problem with 6A is that the largest 6A could feasibly be as large as they want. You could have a 7,000 student school competing against 3,000. Huge delta.

Um. A PNG win over BH does not guarantee a share of anything if they loose to Nederland and BH beats SF.

LJH can play now in the NFL. CJ could use another year. LJH has the WR swagger and toughness for the Show. CJ not so much, but he has loads of ability.

So to be clear, you actually were saying this in the original post. Now that said, I had no idea a screenplay was ever developed based on 82 WB.

Whoever the top teams in district are in 2019 will have to go through basically the same FBM team from this year. The core of that team returns and I’m sure they get some added outside help slso.

1st of all PNG has made the playoffs ONCE as a 3 seed. 8 of 10 were 1st or 2nd, so PNG ain’t eeking their way in year in and year out. The Aledo’s of the world are also getting something annually that we don’t in SETX...Move-in talent. Aledo gets some of the best in the FW area moving out to Aledo to play there. They draw from over 1 million folks in the FW area and 8 million in the DFW area proper. They are one of about 10 or so schools up there drawing in talent (Allen, DVille, Southlake, HP, Trinity, etc.). Look at FBMarshall this year. Several recent “Move-ins” from area schools. Again millions of people in the area. A good program in a heavily populated area is bound to attract a hand full of 4 Star kids who want to be a part of something special. Making it more special. The GT just doesn’t have the population to garner annual 4 star move-ins. Point in case a few years back PNG gained two good athletes who transfered as Freshmen from HF, but not 3 or 4 star athletes like Aledo, FBM, etc. and I don’t consider anyone moving in before MS a move-in.

Like 9 out of 10 playoff appearances (8 of those as either DC or RunnerUp). Yea. I’ll take my chances.
