I think one of the best answers was given on the game thread, when it was stated by the Gilmer coach that he hoped they could wear out WOS. They were tired in that second half.

I was quite impressed with the play by Dallas. That's a lot of pressure . I was a little shocked by the Coach in the announcers booth at half time saying Dallas was not an athlete.

Just like I couldn't take the idiotic comment from falcon whatever, I can't quite accept this one either. These two teams are both good. The better team today won. They could play again and WOS may win but I didn't see anything that would let me say they were the better team. It's just a tough loss to take.

Parents having to work and miss games or various family reasons are understandable. Travel shouldn't be an acceptable excuse, if there are that many who don't have transportation the school should be sending buses for families and fans. Somewhere there should be support for getting these kids the support that they deserve.

I'm sure you would. There's a lot of football to play before that and I'm sure Silsbee will bring their best tonight. I think it's gonna be a better game than the general opinion out there. 

Im actually appalled by some of the comments.
I guess its just not good enough doing what you have to do as a parent to pay rent/mortgage , keep the lights/gas on , and put food on the table.
How about some if you visit the areas in the daytime (Antoine , Kashmere Gardens, Sunnyside) that sight would deter most from going at night, then see these kids and their parents reality and not what you think it should be.
These people shouldnt be relegated to being the scourge of humanity for not attending a football game.....LIFE happens.....we all dont get the same dose.

I just saw a pic of houston furs stands tonight against el campo.......maybe 25 fans at most!! Pitiful support for the houston schools. Parents should be ashamed!!

I remember hearing the excitement in a radio announcers voice that night. I couldn't believe the story then and it's still almost unbelievable.

Maybe so....I won't argue with that either way. Like I have said before I hate that a game like this was handled as poorly as it sounds like it was. The outcome was what I expected although the spread may have been a few Ora higher. I really didn't care a lot about who won other than a few of Bedelmons post pushing me away from the Hawks. It's unfortunate that one play such as that one, which definitely had a big impact as far as momentum and maybe even strategy, was a based on a referee call instead of just a good or even bad play by the players.

No question Dubois has done a phenomenal job at HJ. But if I could pick any coach in SETX to coach my team, it's Cornel hands down.
