  1. You looking at women's scores? UTA played at Rice in women's hoops. UTA is in a tourney in Montana.
  2. Dollah-dollah! Do you guys have more guarantee games than Nicholls? Perhaps football coming on board is making Lamar "play schools at the level we want to be on" as basketball needs to bring in more $$$.
  3. This year, we are keeping the Lamar seat 'warm' when it comes to OOC play just like the Bobcats of San Marcos have kept your cellar dweller seat in football warm since you guys threw in the towel on football the first go around... I really do not think the Kats are that bad a basketball team and will only get better as the season makes it's way into January and February. If they had a SOS of 270+, we'd probably have the same record as your squad...not all teams play weak OOC schedules in the first month. But knowing Roc, he had to get some Ws in November after the last few Turkey-filled months.
  4. Other schools in the SLC get them from Blinn regularly...I mean, we are "D1" programs. SHSU has two.
  5. Not crying... Just brought up facts: 1) LU's SOS was 277 that day 2) Braun has not brought in his players yet 3) ULL was without two or three starters 4) LU has yet to win the big game -- the chances are upcoming on the slate 5) Buzz Williams gave Tristan Worrell to LU and Buzz is an unethical P.O.S 6) The third ranked recruiting class in the nation amounted to absolutely zip, zilch, zero, the nadda

  7. Very young team. This was most turnover we've had and it's not like we've been playing slouches. NT and WMU both are strong mid-majors.
  8. Saw an article about Southern in which Perryn Keys was the writer for the Baton Rouge Advocate? Wasn't he just with the Enterprise covering LU? Is he the new SU beat writer? What's the deal...?
  9. ULL is sure having a tough go -- a 30 point loss at Utah Valley! OREM, Utah – Utah Valley began the second half shooting 8-of-9 from the field to spark a 22-4 run which helped the hosts extend an 11-point halftime lead and coast to a 71-41 victory over Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns men’s basketball team here Saturday evening at the McKay Center.
  10. Why would it be high scoring? Montana's defense is top 30. The best defense in the SLC (and probably close to the best TXST has seen was what -- #60 at best?).
  11. Here is the bracket... Wofford at (1) James Madison Colgate at Villanova Texas State-San Marcos at (4) Montana Weber State at Cal Poly South Carolina State at (2) Appalachian State (ESPN Game) Eastern Kentucky at Richmond Maine at (3) Northern Iowa New Hampshire at Southern Illinois Here is the SLC's history in Montana during the playoffs... 1995 - Montana 70-14 Stephen F. Austin (SF) 1996 - Montana 48-3 Nicholls State (1R), Montana 70-7 Troy (SF) 2001 - Montana 28-19 Northwestern State (1R), Montana 49-24 Sam Houston State (QF) 2002 - Montana 45-14 Northwestern State (1R) 2004 - Montana 56-7 Northwestern State (1R), Montana 34-13 Sam Houston State (SF) 2006 - Montana 31-6 McNeese State (1R)
  12. Congrats Cards. Nice to see the SLC championship game being as competitive as it was. Perhaps this is a sign of better things to come for the SLC as a volleyball conference?
  13. Or 29-27 if you want to go by the actual score of the set. A five-setter for the SLC title, sounds exciting!
  14. Of note... UTSA 136-68 East Central FINAL
  15. We're just happy Lamar is actually winning OOC games... SHSU has been the school to carry the banner for years. Heck, even SLU and NWST got into the act. About time LU is winning games, even if against teams which are missing three starters. Got to do what you can, eh?
  16. That probably will not cut it. Left rear tends to be one of the more popular urinals...perhaps they should start a bidding war on it. ;D
  17. RealtimeRPI has you guys at 183 and SHSU at 111. Go figure... :
  18. Lamar is #11, good for third amongst SLC institutions (behind SHSU and UTSA). [Hidden Content]
  19. Nice win LU! ULL's radio guy enjoys calling the SLC "junior varsity", well -- ULL continues to struggle against the SLC.
  20. Yes. If Lamar is not patient (and are you ever?), this could turn into a DU advantage. Is this a home-and-home?
  21. Already have a 16 team playoff for the NCAA Division I title. I do not see what's wrong with the picture... ;D
  22. SHSU is going to get better as the year goes on. Lots of guys getting first Div I experience. Coach Marlin actually needs to teach and this team may peak at the end of the season, which is not what any Kats team has done over the years...outside of 2003.
  23. Both this game and UTSA-Iowa are on ChannelSurfing.net as well.
  24. This was in their paper -- apparently, you guys are respected in the "basketball world" along with SHSU and SFA. "They've beaten us at home, Bob Marlin's a great coach, so we've got a well-coached team coming in that's already beaten us twice," Tech head coach Pat Knight said. "It's not like they're going to have a confidence problem. We're not going to scare them at all. ... Some people might not know about (Sam Houston) outside of basketball, but in the basketball world, teams like Sam Houston, Stephen F. Austin and Lamar - teams from the Southland (Conference) - are very well-respected."
  25. If you guys didn't, then you were being behind the eight ball... McNeese does road trips for EVERY conference game plus others within driving distance. Believe only one (NWST) got called off due to lack of interest and perhaps NWST was because of how close it was for people. They went to SHSU and even were very limited on spaces for UCA. Lots of schools do that. SHSU had a few buses for the UH game in 2005 and have done buses for SFA and TXST in the past. UH and Rice may not be willing to schedule you guys. UH has quit on the SLC and gone the "SWAC route" because the bands and more likely chance for a win. Rice is done with FCS schools it looks like after the Nicholls victory two seasons ago. Texas Tech loves scheduling FCS and even did two this year.
