I'm sacrificing by doing a round trip to Austin and back on Thursday so I can watch WOS at Reliant. Can't wait to watch Friday and Saturday! Now, we just need the South to beat the North in all of the games to shut them up.

Coach Gaus is resigning at East Chambers to take a position at Houston Baptist University. It will be a strictly teaching position. Coach Gaus won the Coach of the Year Award in 2013 after winning the district in a stunning extra inning victory against Deweyville. He will be sorely missed at East Chambers and in the coaching commnity.

There have been teams this size with several losses win State before.  Tatum and Atlanta come to my mind.   A lot of teams just get better and  better as the season progresses, especially if a big Senior class left  holes the previous year.  Jasper finally made it to the finals during a year I thought would be a rebuilding year.  They didn't even win district that year from what I remember.
I see a lot of blowout predictions on this one.   I too have been predicting that the last few weeks for WO-S.  This is the week where it gets real.  This is a true football program that will play with a ton of pride and huge momentum after shutting out their bitter rival last week to advance to the semi-finals.  They will be hungry.  They like the Mustangs have had a longer time between State titles than one would expect.  Their last title was 1987.
I would not be surprised if WO-S just tore them up because I think they are just that good, but teams like Cuero are the ones that will beat you if you come in expecting to truck them.
I know WO-S fans are way more exuberant about their prospect than the coaches and players will be.  They will stay focuses and take care of a very talented opponent tomorrow.

Hello WOS folks. I'll just say this... This will be Gilmer pt.2 but with a whole different type of offense for Cuero. I've always wanted us to play the Mustangs just to see all the athletes you guys produce year in and year out. The Gobblers will still lace up their cleats  and stand toe to toe with WOS even if we don't have the athletes that you have and play some ball. We may not be what everyone is looking for as far as stats go but these kids deserve to be here just as much as WOS and they won't be intimidated if that's what you're hoping for. They will give 110% for each other and their family and community that's just the way it is here so win or lose WOS will know they've been in a game. Good luck to both teams and ... GO MEAN GREEN!!!!

I have stated many times b4. They been playing together since the age of 5, with a couple kids added to the team while  running a Spread Offense and 50 Defense. Its a blessings getting to see these kids work hard on and off the field to be great, remaining HUMBLE during the process to where they're at to this point. Its so special for me too, see knowing and telling them. They where a SPECIAL GROUP (Brotherhood) since Flagfootball and they have what it takes to be great. Only if they stuck together and worked hard at there craft on and off the Field. Its starting to all come together and its still a lot more room for improvement its scary. If they keep focus on the task at hand, playing LIGHTS OUT like they playing. It could be VERY SPECIAL CHRISTMAS in Orange County! I'm a homer which you'll know but I was able to coach these kids with a couple good guys. The elephant in the room is the advent of the Spread O.  Since 2000, there are a handful of programs which run it properly while all others do a piss poor job of it.  The spread has made defenses soft and drug store cotton.  Also, the child has change to which many stay inside or play sports year around to the point of burnout.  It's sad to me but there it is.  BTW, Thompson and Owens were past their prime.  Stop putting old TJ crap on PAM.  They were good around here but for the exception of TJ 80, couldn't get passed the 1st round......
