Cruz and Rubio need to work out a deal, whoever drops out they will be their VP pick.  They're splitting the votes and it's giving Trump more and more delegates.

Yes it might be time for Cruz and Rubio to put egos aside. A Cruz/Rubio Rubio/Cruz is the only chance to catch Donald Trump. 

If i were going to affiliate with a political party, the Libertarian party would 100% be the party i'd choose.  It's socially liberal.  It's fiscally conservative.  It's perfect for me!  Except it sure seems like the libertarian party has trouble coming up with candidates that aren't nut jobs.  it seems like most of the libertarians who actually have enough desire to run for office are really only doing so to try and get marijuana legalized.  Oh well.

Any of these 4 teams can win Regionals and advance to San Antonio, its going to be who shows up at the right time.  The last time we advanced to state, we came in as probably the 3rd best team.  Ozen and Manvel beat up on each other and we caught Ozen on the right day and won.  Good Luck Crosby at least for this game.
 

1. If there  are price hikes and you don't like them, do not shop there.
2.  If a company could make a bigger profit while hiking their prices then they likely would have already have done it.
 
 I don't see this as a McDonald's coming in to an area and paying all of their employees at least $15 an hour.  Although anyone would like  incentives, McDonnells does not need them and will not pay under that circumstance.  I think this is just a way of targeting certain higher end companies to bring a better job to an area. It is not forcing otherwise minimum-wage jobs to pay twice the normal rate. Companies simply will not do that as they will not make a profit. 
 If I was on the city Council and wanted to bring a business into my city in order to improve or help the economy then I would rather a manufacturing company that will hire several skilled people rather than another 7-Eleven or Whataburger. I think that is what this is trying to accomplish. 
 The title of the article posted and this thread are both misleading. San Marcus did not adopt a minimum wage. They only said that if we are going to give taxpayers money to a company to expand or come into the area, we want better companies not more minimum wage jobs. 
No one in the city is required to pay any increase in salaries. I agree on any attempt to raise the minimum wage for what should be those kinds of jobs.  This does not appear to be that kind of situation.  In a way it looks to be a form of legal discrimination. Anyone can apply for a city break however in order to get it you have to be a benefit to the city and a couple of minimum-wage jobs it's not that. 

i've been arguing with some of you guys for years about what republicans need to do in order to get back into the white house.  many of you guys have insisted that the problem is that your candidates have not been conservative enough, while i've insisted they need to be even more moderate.  well, if this doesn't answer that debate for you, i don't know what will.  you have the ultra-conservative candidate you've wanted in the race, and he's being routinely beaten by a blowhard mouthpiece who has no experience and no plan.  
As an aside: For all of the many thousands of jabs you guys have taken at democrats on this site over the years for being low information voters... DONALD TRUMP IS WINNING REPUBLICAN STATE PRIMARIES.  I guess those voters exist in large numbers on both sides of the aisle after all.`

I am 41 years old and moved to Zavalla in 1985 from PN-G  wasnt to long after moving there I visited Eagles gym there and watched my first game coached by Jan West.  I remember thinking she was very tall. Back in those days her teams were very good. Coach West coached in Zavalla soemwere aorund 33 years. She won her 500th game back in 2013. I do not know what her final record is but I know she was very faithful to the ZISD as she turned down many many offers from larger schools to leave Zavalla. I remember getting to school early to see her Lady Eagles teams off to the state tourny when I was in high school there. Those teams were really good. She was a hard nosed coach who loved her girls. She is a coaching legend there up in the country and she will be missed on the sidelines.......   Good luck Coach West

I saw Trump on the television tonight say that Carson was a great guy and something like an honorable man and was cheated and blah blah blah.
A couple of months ago he was calling Carson a liar because in his book (from several years ago) he was claiming to have a bad temper and had overcome it. Trump said that Carson cannot be trusted.
Trump never tried to slam Cruz early when Trump was beating up on everyone else. He said that he might choose Cruz for his VP. Then Cruz came up in the polls and a couple of weeks ago Trump called him stupid. Now he thinks that the Iowa Republican caucus should take all of Cruz's votes away.... giving Trump the win.
Anyone else see a pattern in this?

First off, Nederland's Brian English is an OUTSTANDING basketball coach, and probably an even better PERSON.  If you say that what he has done in Vidor and Nederland is anything less than amazing, you do not know anything about the game, and that is OK, because even those that THINK they do, DON'T.  He has single handedly taken a cellar dweller basketball program at Nederland and turned them into a LEGIT threat to beat everyone in the district, every year, no matter who he has...THATS coaching....NOW, with that said, you cannot take anything away from the coaches who have succeeded in the playoffs, and have won state championships, NO MATTER HOW MUCH TALENT you "THINK" they may have had.  Talented teams get outcoached and beaten ALL THE TIME in the playoffs, so please kill the "they have talent" excuses. Todd Sutherland is an OUTSTANDING basketball coach...You cannot take that away from him just because he happened to coach at talent rich, traditional basketball powerhouses like Kountze, EC, and HJ, so WHY is the first thing that comes out of guys mouths when it comes to Boutte, is "I'd like to see what he does with such and such team without talent"? That's CRAZY! Just give these coaches credit where its due...Head to head wins do not ALWAYS equate to one coach being better than the other either! Would you take Central's rookie head coach over Brian English? I don't think so...But you have to see the overall body of work of these coaches to properly evaluate them, and the majority of people on this board are not qualified to properly evaluate ANY coach.  Who is the GREATEST coach in SE Texas? I have my opinion, and everyone is entitled to that. But please remember to give proper credit where it is due no matter WHO you are pulling for, and you are likely to make a more accurate assessment of these guys abilities, even though it won't matter one bit at the end of the day what you think anyway! Just my two cents...

I just got Jack in the Box on the way home tonight.  They were out of lettuce for the tacos, but had lettuce for my Jumbo Jack.   The girl was dumbfounded when I asked the difference.

I think the vast majority love the reality tv aspect to Trump. 
I don't buy the "he isn't a politician" angle. Neither was Reagan when he was an actor. Neither was Jimmy Carter when he was a peanut farmer. Neither was Mike Huckabee when he was a preacher. Neither was G H W Bush when he was an oil wildcatter. When they ran for office, they became politicians. So if Trump gets elected, he isn't a politician in the highest political office in the land? Sure he will be and sure he is now. In reality he is a politician that has not yet held political office. 
You talk about unfulfilled promises. Okay, I'll buy that. Trump says "I'll do this and I'll do that, trust me!". Well how is he going to do it if Congress will not pass the law? If the Republicans hold both houses (which seems likely) me might have a more favorable Congress to work with however any of the Republicans will be in the same position. Trump reminds me a lot of Obama. "Trust me". Like, trust me, I will make the world love us and not make them all mad. How did that work out for us? 
You talk about a fresh perspective yet Trump has no perspective other than, trust me because I am The Donald. 
I do think that he would be a lot better than Obama but I think the same thing about my mother's Siamese Cat.

I just got word that Mrs. Myers passed away this week. The area lost one of it's biggest girls basketball fans. I can remember the Myers girls playing at Lamar and my mom and Mrs. Myers raising the roof at every game. Prayers to the Myers family and to the Orangefield community, you will be missed.
