  1. With that logic, would you have a problem with a school just 4 off from being in a lower division "opting down"....you know, for "travel" purposes? (I realize it's not an option). UIL should just make people play in the classification they are supposed to be in. It's ridiculous to "opt up" to get an easier path.
  2. It's been a while since I've caught a game in Sour Lake. I know it was an extremely tough place to play in the Todd Sutherland era. Is it still like that?
  3. Well in Bridge City's case, it was to get an easier path to the playoffs. They opted up to avoid having WO-S and Silsbee in their district.
  4. Dan Ray Hooks was one of a kind and a true Texas HS football legend.
  5. When your defense has given up 5 TDs, itโ€™s hard to call the TD lucky.
  6. Public sentiment (especially in polling) is usually lagging behind real-time changes. And this is especially true with the economy. The winning message (for both GOP and Dems) is always about the economy, affordability, and jobs. And right now the Dems are winning the messaging.
  7. I'm not new, I just don't post. Longterm shadow lurker. I guess I underestimated how sensitive UT could be. Must be another symptom of the overall disease.
  8. So are terms like Warlock Weasel, Conman-and-Chief and the numerous other inflammatory names you throw around here. I'm just trying to offer you a Rx for your obvious late stage TDS.
  9. Your TDS is also noted. Going to be a long 3 years for you guys. But you always have a #RESIST, or #NO KINGS rally you can attend. Maybe a TDS scream room will help.
  10. Thanks, your TDS is noted.
  11. I'm sure you got him this time, Dems. ๐Ÿ˜„
  12. IMO, both schools looked ridiculous in this whole thing.
  13. Way to go Bobcats! That's a big win.
  14. Coach Wrinkle would be great, but I don't think he's interested.
  15. My take is exactly what I posted above. He left simply because he and his new bride wanted to be closer to family. As far as the job, there is no doubt it's a tough place to win in basketball consistently. Coach Wrinkle did a great job trying to stay competitive in a tough district and Coach Hardy did his best with a young team. Orangefield has a good Little Dribblers program that's established and a good group coming up through the junior high. Now they have to find the right coach to breathe some energy into the program and who will stick around and see it through.
  16. Coach Hardy leaving has nothing to do with the strength of the district or OISD's pay scale (which is pretty good compared to schools of similar size and demographics). He got married and he and his wife are moving back home (Tyler area) to be around family. I wish Coach Hardy and his young family nothing but the best in their transition. He did well trying to implement a new system at Orangefield, but took some licks with a young team.
