I'm getting what I voted for. It's not perfect, but infinitely better than the alternative...solid B+.

One thing is true; things really don't matter to the majority of Americans. If they did, a lot more than tea would be tossed into the harbor, and streets would be lined with tarred and feathered corrupt politicians. But for clarity, are you justifying the slush fund because congress unanimously passed it (except for one Ku Klux Klan member democrat)? Why wouldn't they vote themselves more money and protection lol? While I enjoy and agree with most of your takes, I see zero justification for elected officials to use my tax dollars to defend themselves against their own scandalous behavior. Once again, it's a club and you and I ain't in it.

A couple of things here....first, congress was never intended to be a career. I don't give two craps about protecting a congressman's "career". Secondly, why does a politician get to use tax payer dollars (slush fund) to fight off allegations of wrongdoing (most cases are sexual misconduct)? If you get accused of sexual misconduct in your job, does your company pay for your lawyer? In most cases, no. Just one more reason for term limits for these leaches in Washington on both sides of the aisle.

Well in Bridge City's case, it was to get an easier path to the playoffs. They opted up to avoid having WO-S and Silsbee in their district.

Coach Wrinkle would be great, but I don't think he's interested.

My take is exactly what I posted above. He left simply because he and his new bride wanted to be closer to family. As far as the job, there is no doubt it's a tough place to win in basketball consistently. Coach Wrinkle did a great job trying to stay competitive in a tough district and Coach Hardy did his best with a young team. Orangefield has a good Little Dribblers program that's established and a good group coming up through the junior high. Now they have to find the right coach to breathe some energy into the program and who will stick around and see it through.

Coach Hardy leaving has nothing to do with the strength of the district or OISD's pay scale (which is pretty good compared to schools of similar size and demographics). He got married and he and his wife are moving back home (Tyler area) to be around family. I wish Coach Hardy and his young family nothing but the best in their transition. He did well trying to implement a new system at Orangefield, but took some licks with a young team.
