Lions Pride 2021 got a reaction from KB24 in Desmond Demas denied transfer to Tomball
The article by Adam Coleman in the Chronicle does a good job of laying out the sides, except for the coach at North Forest, who declined to speak.
He doesn't come off looking to good.
By all accounts, Demas is making better grades at Tomball and is in a much better situation.
Coaches shouldn't have this power. The district and state committee failed him.
And if it was for athletics, I would feel the same way. Parents should be able to do what they think is best for their children.

The academics are much better at Tomball. If it was about football, he'd go back to North Forest. He said he's not.
As he is a minor, he can't decide what school he goes to, that's on his parents. The coaches and UIL should have nothing to do with what a parent wants to do in regards to with his child.
HISD is a disaster and the sooner the state takes it over, the better.
    He'll be fine at A&M.

Were it not for the census bureau adding Newton County to the count, Beaumont Port Arthur Orange would have had negative growth. Most census projections show the area shrinking in population by the end of the century.
As for the plants, these new units only need 5-10 people to run them. The construction is temporary.
The area really needs to diversify. It's not a good sign when Orange county doesn't have a hospital and they refuse to pay for one and Port Arthur loses one.  Doesn't speak well for the health and growth prospects for the area.

Lions Pride 2021 got a reaction from Mr. Buddy Garrity in Transfers in Texas High School Football becoming a trend and a concern
Life isn't a team sport. Sticking with your high school team has nothing to do with your character or whether you'll be successful in life. OJ didn't transfer high schools or college; how that work out?
Kids transferring is not a kid's decision; it's the parents. That vype article was full of crybaby coaches.
It was a shame they held up Malik Hornsby last year. You know why he moved? His mother was tired of worrying about him getting shot. His old neighborhood was that bad.
Coaches, coach the kids you got. If they're there, they are committed. If a kid transfers to your school, he's committed. Quit messing with parents raising their children. You don't let anyone raise yours.

    That's absurd.
If the kid or parents don't want to be there let them go.  You'll be better off. WOS did alright. The Little Giants beat the Cowboys.

Parents should be able to do what they think is best for their kids, including moving for sports. Granted making to collegiate athletics, let alone the pros, is extremely unlikely, but if that's the route they're taking so be it.
No one can make you stay at a job you don't like. Some schools are better than others. If a kid wants to go, it's really no one's business except that family. As long as they meet the enrollment requirements of the new school, there should be no problem.
People pick the school before they buy the house all the time.

Huffman and Livingston are better than Shepherd. So is Splendora. But those are the four teams.
    1 Huffman
    2 Livingston
    3 Splendora
    4 Shepherd

Lions Pride 2021 got a reaction from Hagar in What laws should politicians enact to deal with immigration?
There already here. This is tough. I don't think they can be citizens.  I'd fine and deport their parents and no more dreamers after immigration reform is passed. As long as they're being productive, working, college, military, etc. give them a green card. As for their parents, they can only get a travel Visa to visit the grown children after they paid the fine and three years have passed. Family is important. And I don't think there's a good way to deport what estimates could be up to 10 million people.
If the parents want what's best for their kids, they gotta come forward, they are the ones who broke the law, not the kids. Without parents coming forward then no green card for the kids and they're deported too.

Increase temporary visas for migrant workers. There are lots of seasonal workers who would go home if they knew they could come back next years. And our agriculture industry is short on these workers. These were drastically cut in the 1960s, leading to a lot of Mexican s just staying here instead of going home. Any us born children are not us citizens because you are not a lawful resident unless one parent is a lawful resident. This must be agreed to before the Visa is issued so it isn't challenged in court.
Streamline green card for people with student visas. If you graduated from a US institution, then make it easier for them to stay. Our taxes have helped these student get an education, let's keep them here so they can contribute here instead of in bejing or Mumbai.
DACA - no grandfather citizenship. Everyone gets in line. Parents are fined 25k each and deported once the kids reach age of majority. They would have to wait 25 years to get a green card but could apply for travel Visa after 3 years and pay the fine. Kids would have a 15 year process to get a green card. After 2020, no child brought across the boarder illegally can claim DACA. Automatic deportation.
Unaccompanied minors are automatically deported, no questions asked.
Overstayed visas are immediately deported. If they have kids, they fall under DACA. Again fines of 25k if they have kids.
Assylum - you must file for it at the US embassy in your home country or at US Port of entry. If you cross another country (Mexico, Canada) you have to apply for assylum there first. More immigration judges will be hired so that a hearing is held with 14 days. No appeals. If you're looking for work, apply for the expanded temp work visa. All caravans turned around immediately, no questions asked.

There's no such thing as an intelligent conversation with you. You suggested several posts ago that you would dissect my post about immigrants committing less crime than Americans yet you haven't done it. I've been waiting for to this grand display of intellect only to be disappointed again. Maybe you don't understand the word dissect?
The thread is about crime. Since you can't make the statement of all illegals are criminals stick, now you switched it to they're a suck on the economy.
I'll leave you some information to debunk your stupid assertions. You need better sources. Why are you so stupid?

"It is not only immigrants, who are legally present in the U.S., who are paying taxes. Undocumented immigrants make important contributions as well. An analysis based on the U.S. Census and other data estimated that undocumented immigrants paid $11.7 billion in state and local taxes. If they had a pathway to secure legal status, they would likely earn more and, consequently, more of their income would be on the books. Their state and local tax contributions would increase accordingly, by an estimated $2.2 billion."

Trump said Mexico was paying for the wall. Because I believe in our President and everything he says, he's not going to renege and make us pay for it, will he? Why that would break my faith in him
Let get our master negotiater to Mexico City ASAP and get Mexico to fund it.

I think Huffman was gonna win this one, but coach is a little to conservative. He plays not to lose at times and doesn't trust the guys to fight.
Just like last year, he was playing to keep the score down, which kinda made it worse. He's gonna have to relax if he wants to go past bi-district.
