  1. This game should not be a cake walk  for either team. BH will probably want to set the tone and  get some payback for  last yr. However CHS is used to  being in this position and from what I know about Cyrin Myles he loves having that target on his back and thrives in those moments. He'll be ready. Definitely gonna have to shore up the mistakes and play good football for 4qrts. I give CHS the edge simply because I think we have better players with moree experience in big games. And make no mistake this is a big game for the kids and coaches for both teams. Just as bad as BH doesn't want to lose at home again CHS wants wants  to prove that they are the undisputed Kings of the district. Also looking for Levi Fontenot to have a big game.

Too many missed tackles by Crosby. If you let Duncan run loose he will hurt anybody's defense.Multiple times Crosby had him corralled for big losses only for him to get loose and make a play.Too many silly mistakes or this game should have been out of reach a lot Sooner.Fontenot takes over in the 3rd and 4th quarter.

Nobody wants to tackle Levi Fontenot in the 3rd and 4th qtr. My man gets off on punishing DB’s! Lol

On another note CHS definitely looked flat and unfocused maybe even tired. Cannot play like that next week or they might get blown out. Last wk they were flying around the ball this week not so much.  I do believe Prieto is keeping the play calling bland on purpose. Noticed the Hudl highlights are locked for the team this yr.  Coogs need a good week of practice and some refocus team wide. Some of these cats IMO are doing way too much celebrating for a team  that was already beaten soundly this yr and has hopes of getting to the big dance and winning.

  3. Just getting here. I’m guessing folks that weren’t at the game didn’t see the big hit on Banks #1. He didn’t just all of sudden stop knowing how to catch a football he got knocked senseless in the first half. Probably concussed couldn’t find his way to the sideline. Good first win for Crosby.
On the other hand  the jury is still out on Willians as a coach. Not a lot of penalties however he’s turrible in close games. Was severely out coached against BH last yr. He made similar mistakes last night. Mismanaged time and Timeouts  trouble getting plays in and lack of variety in play calling. They still should win their district and may even win the region . Only time will tell.

King is a 6A school that has jumped in enrollment about 700 students in the last five years. They are on the North Shore schedule of going from afterthought to power house. They are even in the same area over there, same caliber of athletes. Think about the trouble Crosby had with Ridge Point and that was when Ridge Point had barely crossed the threshold to highest classification. Imagine them playing Ridge Point now. That's the same as playing King. There will never be a scenario moving forward where Crosby will be able to compete with CE King. They are a few years away from being like North Shore, Westfield, etc. Entrenched as favorites in the region in the highest classification.

Was saying this since I saw them on the schedule. This ain’t the same King we played in district all those years ago.

King could have put up a better showing against King but they were one dimensional on offense. They lined up very well with them. I’m really surprised they are on our schedule. Very tough comp for the cougar in wk one. However I think we’re going to surprise some folks in wk 2 by dominating FBM

    *Against Katy.

Just went back and watched that Shadow Creek vs CE King game from the second round last year. King had SC down 40-14 in the third quarter before they really got off the gas. King dominated SC at the LoS which makes me a little more worried about our game with them since they’ll be even better on the defensive line this year. Look how much bigger than SC they look in the trenches once the game starts. I think Katy and Summer Creek will probably replay it in the regional final in 6A-D2.

You did that same type "math" before with TW. Now do you it for BH future seasons presuming BH loses out in the first round 2X? BTW do you know for sure who we will play in 1st round in 23 and 24? Ask FBM if Absek and BH can't beat a higher seeded team.

How many other teams have you done the math on? Instead of obsessing about BH, you ought to be worried about losing your recruiter / coach pretty soon.

Separation if you admittedly never watched HS hype vids then you probably won’t  be able to understand why BH’s is laughable. Most teams show big hits and big plays throughout their season and maybe the scoreboard of some crucial games. For example showing the first qtr score from the FBM game and then the final score. You know stuff that hypes up the fan base. Not some highlights from a home loss to a div rival. I think BH is def on the rise but that hype vid is comical and proves that CHS lives in their heads.

I kind of thought so too but for example, who out of 7-9 would you for sure out in front of us? You knew Consol. was going to be good because they had a freshman QB and sophomore RBs when we played them last year but they also lost some of those huge trench guys that gave us issues.

Results are a direct product of your play so you can’t say there should’ve been an alternative outcome in the Manvel game but you’re probably one of the ones that walked out of Randal Reed thinking “There’s not a lot of daylight between these two teams, if any?”. They lost both RBs and a bunch of Power 5 kids on defense.

Not too many years ago we used to complain about be disrespected and overlooked, for better or worse I think we’re getting the benefit of the doubt now.

I like it better when we're disrespected. For whatever reason when those kids show up with a chip on their shoulders it produces great results. As far as rankings I think we have talent at the skill positions to compete with anyone in 5A. Its the trenches that I have questions about. Definitely gonna know by week 2

As far as their history, you could easily look that up.

As for last year, FBM was undefeated, ranked Top Ten, had a lot of blow out wins, and they were highly hyped in print and TV media.

Then BH happened to them in the 1st round. The fact that BH beat them is not totally shocking, but the way they did was eye popping. BH simply ran right through them. I don't think 9-5A-ll teams have to be terrified out of their minds.

The reason I comment on this is to give our former district mates in 9-5A-ll some encouragement. I will still support our former district rivals.

If I remember correctly BH was down 21-0 before they got started. FBM speed advantage was on full display coming out the gate. However BH was as tough as they come last year. I think the  difference ended up being that BH had been in tough games all year and FBM had not. Once BH weathered the initial storm they just were more physical and battle tested and FBM fell apart including the coach. I expect them to be better this year with the new schedule. They should have the speed advantage in this region and hopefully for them the new schedule will humble them. With all that being said.

    1)FBM

    2) Texas City

    3) PNG

    4) Dayton

Love watching 7v7 but not a huge fan of my kids playing it outside of school settings. Hearing BH may have just lost their best returning player to an ACL at a recent tournament. Hopefully he can have an Adrian Peterson type recovery, I would prefer to beat them at full strength.

    Herndon?

Actually, Stepp said he was only 99% sure of that. Honestly though, at this point in Crosby's progression I would just be happy about any class we play in where we can avoid the slot-T.

Talked to Coach P he said we were definitely going. Also said that we’re actually under the D1 cutoff by about 30 kids. But they only go by the snapshot.
