  1. Can’t see CHS coming out with a win here. I thought from the beginning that Willis wasn’t the right hire for Crosby at this time and had he did more research he would’ve known this wasn’t the best spot for him. He assumed with the success of the program and fan base that he would have a large group of kids to work with.  He was quoted as saying how does Crosby have this many fans and only 3A numbers. The answer to that question may be the disconnect between the two communities that should have been resolved 30-40yrs ago.

Neither does any offense year to year. Abseck is running more complex plays than he would have been a year ago given he has the same players in the same system. Unless the claim is coaches have a system and only do that system then every first game of the year there is a question of what the "system" looks like.

    It's a weak excuse.

I believe Prieto did it that way. His offense was starting to become predictable.

LOL. According to you, your coach is "too old" and does "not know how to relate to the kids". Crosby got donkey punched and looked terrible. Crosby does not like "physical football", that is why CEK whipped them so bad. Edge FBM.

Sounds like you got hate in your blood. We had one kid go down with a broken collarbone at King. I seem to remember more of them needing help off the field than ours. Besides that we’re always more physical than FBM. They have a history of shrinking when the game gets physical i.e against BH and PNG in the playoffs. Might want to check out Levi Fontenot knocking their D1 DB damn near out the camera frame.

Crosby's game to lose. FBM is a better team of players but lack coaching and discipline. FBM "probably" would have beat Crosby in 21 if Chris Marshall had not got thrown out of the game (lack of discipline reared its head). Since then that Cougars have owned FBM and should be the same this year.

Crosby would have blown out FBM if Dunn ankle wasn’t bad.

You seem happy about BH injuries. We will do what every team does and that’s next man up. What we won’t do is make excuses like you do for Crosby. All teams have injuries it’s an unfortunate part of the game hope these young men get well soon.

Nobody’s happy about those kids being injured.  Sux for Herndon and Malone for sure because those kids are uber talented and this is their Sr yr. Hopefully Davis can get back soon as well.

Why is Wesley so highly rated and Levi is not?

The question should be why is Levi not rated as he should be. He looks the part, got it on tape,  measurables and academics. All I can say is that the scouts are asleep at the wheel. Lil cuz will definitely put them on notice once again this year. Good lord say the same and he stays healthy all year, expect big thangs from number 14 this yr.

Hiring “home-town heros” is not always a good thing. I have seen many school districts, including Crosby, hire local alumni and that doesn’t mean they make good coaches. That just means they knew somebody to get the job. If Willis’s intentions were to win over the community by hiring them, your post proves that he succeeded. If he is able to win with those hires is yet to be determined. I hope it works out for him and the staff.

I agree. However in the case of Crosby these hires either already had success in their previous positions or come with stellar resumes. Craig Williams for example 1st yr RB coach, Baylor grad all Big 12 academic played under Matt Rhule. Who wouldn’t want that on their sidelines?

Even Joe knows about the Crosby Culture.

Joe Willis is the new coach at Crosby with several playmakers coming back for the Cougars on offense and defense. Crosby finished in fourth place last year in district and Willis brings a new culture to town.

    😂

More like he’s bringing back culture to town. Man has hired or promoted more coaches from the community than any other coach in Crosby history. For that alone he’s got my support.
