The official UIL #s that Ozen turned in kept then in 5A. They didn't opt up that is where they were put by the UIL. I know some of you may find this hard to imagine, but sometimes the local media is not accurate on things they report. 

Also I a little bit and a rarity agree with Ozenfinest, but the problem in BISD is folks stealing money not the education! Silsbee is not exactly Harvard on the Neches! Come on Man!

Silsbee beat central in 7 on 7 Tourney last year at Legacy. WOS, Ozen, West Brook, and Kountze were also there, but those two played for the tourney championship and the Tigers won. It was on Ch 6 that night.

I started this thread to congratulate two student athletes that have earned scholarships. Not to discuss and bash coaching playoff success. It does seem odd to me though that some on this site are like a broken record. I believe Coach Harrison is 4-16 over the last two years with no playoffs and several D-1 players. In the four years that Flannigan has been at WB he has an overall record that is .500 and only made the playoffs twice witch both games were blowout losses.So does that mean WB and PA also have circus like practices? Also Central did have one D-1 player, Whaley that went to Arkansas. CE King had atleast two, RB that went to A&M and the QB went to Tulane and the final score was 32-31. So if Central would have held on and won would that have meant that Coach Price has circus like practices? This thread was meant to spotlight and congratulate kids not to grind personal axes against certain coaches. So if you want to do that please start your own thread.

Rice had their Spring Game last night.

Congrats to Vance Vallier and Chris Boudreaux of Beaumont Central for both receiving offers from Rice University. I was told that Boudreaux committed to Rice last night at the Spring Game. 

Franks did stay at OU and took his punishment and graduated with a degree after four years. That is the actual reason most kids do attend college. Low percentage of college athletes actually make it pro. 

These comments are mainly directed towards soulja but I see this from several people on this board who I think may have bad memories of where there teams and programs were just a short time ago.  Take Beaumont Central for example. Here is a program that year in and year out has talent but sometimes is good and sometimes is bad. I researched this program top to bottom and found out some shocking information. Central is coming up on its 30 season ever and has an overall record of 173-136-3 and a playoff record of 13-15. They have had 8 Head Coaches Steve Shaver 86-87 (13-6-1) (0-0), Marvin Sedberry Sr. 88-91 (30-13) (1-3), Enoch Dixon 92-2001 49-53-2 (2-3), David Suggs 02-03 (18-6) (2-2), Eric Jackson 2004 (1-9) (0-0), Donald Stowers 05-08 (27-17) (3-3), Andrew Washington 09-2012 (22-23) (3-2), and Toby Foreman 2013-current (13-9) (0-2). There have been two outright district champs Sedberry 89 and Washington in 2010 and two district co champs Sedberry in 1990 and Foreman in 2014. There has never been a Central team go undefeated for a full district schedule. There was one 10 win season which was Suggs in 2003 (10-3). There is only one coach that has taken Central to the playoffs three consecutive years which Sedberry in 89, 90, and 91. More shocking than anything to me was there was only one coach which was Enoch Dixon who stayed at Central more than four years. The most playoffs wins any coach had was three. All of that being said I don't know how you question the direction of a program where it is headed now from where it was just two years ago in 2012 going 2-8 and in 2011 going 3-7.            Here are some pretty good area coaches records in there first few years:  Curtis Barbay first two years as HC of Newton (5-4-1) (8-3). I believe Ozen and WB both had the same amount of wins last year in baseball.

I think it's kind of unique that Coach Paul has helped Central make it as far they have the last two years and also helped coach some of the Ozen players that made it to state this year when they were 9th and 10th graders. I also believe that Coach Paul did learn and Coach under Coach Andre Boutte. Coach Paul is more than qualified and I would like to wish him the best of luck.

Renovations for ALL the facilities in Jasper are long over due! Hope there is a complete much needed upgrade for those kids and community!

I was told from a very reliable source that Cleveland offered Foreman A LOTTT! He would be bringing five people with him. As far as I know he has not accepted the job but from what hear he has been getting very little support from the Central Administration and possibly could be without athletic periods next year. Probably one of the only bright spots at Beaumont Central is the Athletic success you would think the higher ups would try to work to keep him.

Both Ozen and Central made the playoffs this year. Nederland and Central tied for the District Title while PNG finished 3rd and Ozen 4th. Coach Suggs was even voted the Coach of the Year by the other coaches in that district. So I think the idea that the two Beaumont schools have terrible coaching is kind of rediculous. One big difference that I do see in the mid county schools and BISD schools is support. Nederland staff has been in place for 20+ years and PNG staff has been in place for 7+ years. BISD runs through coaches like a hot knife through butter and that makes a huge difference. Coach Foreman inherited a 2-8 team and Coach Suggs inherited a 3-7 team and both have done well in turning those programs around in a short period of time. So PAM signed 14 kids this year does that mean Coach Harrison is a bad coach. NO! They had a bad year for a number of reasons, but not long ago they were a game away from state! Talent alone doesn't make the team, and every school and situation is different! I can assure you that the everyday obsticles that Ned and PNG have are completely different than PAM, Central, Ozen encounter on a day in and day out basis and vice versa. Some coaches spend more time helping kids get into college and that is a fact. Is that part of their job? That depends on the Coach in his beliefs! I think we should be very thankful that we have some Coaches that not only do a great job on the field, but truly care about the future of their student-athletes. Just my opinion!

Devwah Whaley, Patrick Hudson, and Kam Martin are the three biggest recruits in SETX by far for the 2016 class! There are no clear cut 2017 recruits at this time, but two or three will definitely emerge in the coming months!
