Small schools can compete. Cut expenses by calling various schools 7on7 coach to set up scrimmage. It's done quite often. Ozen & Memorial twice last summer

It will offer middle school and high school teams a chance to compete against other talented teams from all over texas and Louisiana. didn't read all of the pages...the reason why IMO nederland don't get looked at is no exposure. they play teams that will do them no good in the preseason. they are in a district that is not dominant. until they do some traveling and play UP a division where the scouts go, the kids will get looked at. not saying they have to play PAM, but it would be a start. Manvel,N.S., LaPorte, to name a few. Play Texas City again. PAM got looks not because of jamaal, but because who PAM went out there way to play when the school opened and now it's a hot bed and scouts come look at PAM players now. just count the d-1 starters and pros from port arthur since PAM opened in 02.

I wonder about the BISD police department. When handling these situations, in whose best interest are they working toward? The district or the students?

This seems to be part of the whole "culture" stigma that has surrounded the University.  I am as guilty as anyone; I pay for my seats at DKR each year, and I don't really like standing up for the whole darn game.  I think the stadium can be as loud as any and have heard it get that way many, many times.  Much more important is the culture surrounding the team.  I don't believe that can be changed overnight.  However, I will say that based on the steps and rules he has implemented, Coach Strong is doing his best to do just that.  I think you see a different level of toughness from the start next year.  And 3-4 years from now you may just see the meanest group of Horns that have taken the field in a long, long time.

The coach was a son of a gun.  Has been on "leave" for several weeks, the kids have not been working with the weights, and they were not planning any spring training.  He moved his son two weeks ago, and could have let the district know at that time.  Magoo wanted to play 2 and 3A teams so his record would look better.

What it really shows is what WOS found out in '03. Dropping from 4 to 3a isnt much of a difference in competition. In my opinion, its the closest two divisions out of all of them. Any given year you could put the states top 4 in each class and i would bet it would be a toss up who wins.

Newton has the toughest schedule in SETX on paper IMO.

I'm just SMH at this whole situation. Some things I want to say but won't. Anyhow, I hope Ozen gets someone who can turn the program around. The talent is definitely there for them to do what Central did from 2012 to 2013.

I'll say this and im not directing this toward anyone but some kids play HS sports to get out of the community/area they reside in, some folks may not understand that aspect either.
